Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the 450 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU 3-in-1 Smart Portable Air Conditioner's cooling performance, portability, and relatively quiet operation. Many appreciate its ease of setup and the added convenience of smart features. However, some customers note that the unit is heavy and may be large for smaller spaces, and a few experienced difficulties with app connectivity. Overall, the positive feedback on cooling power and ease of use outweighs the concerns about weight and app functionality.

Love it!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Specs This smart air conditioning unit is very powerful at 10,000 BTU with the capability to cool rooms up to 350 square feet. The unit itself is not large with an approximate size of 14”x27”x16.5” and weighs approximately 57 pounds. A one-year limited warranty is also included for peace of mind. Pros The TCL 10,000 BTU Smart Portable Air Conditioner is actually a 3-in-1 unit, having air conditioning, fan, and dehumidifying capabilities. With multiple fan speeds, a reusable and washable air filter, and vertical/sliding window capabilities, it is a desirable unit! It is a smart unit and usable with TCL, Alexa, and Google Assistant apps. A sleep mode and 24-hour timer help keep energy bills low. It was VERY easy to set up through the TCL app and included instructions. Cons The only real con I see with this unit is it is not compatible with casement windows, which is not a problem for me. Conclusion I was really happy to test this unit; I live in an area where central air conditioning systems are basically non-existent, so I knew I needed to upgrade to a nicer window system. I would gladly recommend this product to family and friends.

Simple and effective. Just enough features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new TCL 10,000 BTU Smart Air Conditioner, Fan & Dehumidifier, is a simple unit that seems to work well. I’ve been using portable AC units to supplement the second story of my 1927 home for years. The single central AC duct just can’t keep up in the summer. By adding a portable unit, we can keep the 2nd story cool and comfortable. I’ve had several different units and brands over the years. Some come with lots of features. Some are complicated. Some are simple. This new TCL unit feels like it’s found the sweet spot. Installation is straightforward. Hook up the venting tube and put it in a window. I have a funky size window where I want the unit to sit, so I must trim the plastic pieces a bit to make it fit correctly, but that’s a one-time modification. It is very easy to operate. It has a simple remote control that allows you to turn it on and off, set temperature, select modes, control fan speed, adjust the wind louver angle, sleep timer, etc. It’s relatively intuitive. If you don’t understand what’s on the remote, you can find the definitions in the manual. It has 3 fan options. High, Low, and Auto. This unit is a bit quieter than my last unit, but it’s still pretty loud. You will certainly know when it is running. This is not a problem for us because we sleep with fans blowing around anyway. It has a nice hum that is consistent and easy to process as white noise while sleeping. One thing I love about this unit is that it will let you keep the fan running even when the compressor is not. My last unit did not allow continuous fan mode, and I hated it. I’m sure it was an energy saving feature, but I can not stand things turning on and off while I sleep. There is an obvious change in pitch when the compressor kicks on and off, but at least the fan keeps running all the time. It gets cold. My quick read thermometer showed 45F coming out of the unit. The lowest temperature supported by the thermostat is 64F. My last unit went to 60F, but I never ran it that low. This unit has a companion app that allows you to manage the device from your smartphone. I will say, the app feels underdeveloped to me, but it gets the job done. This is a great feature because it allows you to control the unit while away from your home. You can turn it off when you leave for the day, or on vacation, and then turn it on before you come home. This will save energy and wear and tear on the unit over time. Setup is pretty easy. You download the app, create an account, click add device, hold the power button on the unit for 5 seconds (until it beeps). The app finds the device and then asks you to connect it to Wi-Fi. NOTE: it only works on 2.4ghz Wi-Fi. The odd thing is that it will show you the 5ghz signals, but if you try to use them, it won’t configure. You must set it up on 2.4. That’s pretty much it. You can now control the unit from anywhere. This unit also functions in fan only mode and as a dehumidifier. If you are running it to dry out a space, you can connect a garden hose to the back so it can drain moisture continuously. It you live in a super humid area, you could find that it sometimes produces too much condensation and it can’t evaporate quickly enough. If that happens, it will shut down and tell you to drain it. It comes with a hose to drain it. I’ve never had that issue with any of my units, and I don’t expect to with this one, but it’s good to know what to do if it happens. Maintenance is simple, just keep the intake filter clean and operate it with plenty of open space around the unit and you’ll be fine. I think this is a great balance between simple features and the technology to manage it remotely.

NO more dangling window AC unit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.450 Sq. Ft We have a room in our home that was an addition. Our central HVAC doesn't quite heat/cool that room and can get uncomfortable unless the temps are cranked up/down. That would equal ridiculous energy bills. The room in question is a South facing side of the house and has sun ALL day gets HOT during the day. The rather than run the central air through the night cooling areas of the house that are unoccupied we used a portable AC unit that did the trick. Our old window unit was about 1/2 the BTUs. Loud, vibrated too much and a pain in the rear to set into the window every summer without worrying about dropping it out the window from the 2nd floor. The 15yr old window unit gave up the ghost the end of last summer and it was the perfect time to try something a little different. Enter the portable AC unit. As long as you have a window that can accommodate the exhaust outlet. Set up is as simple as can be after you get the window slider with foam seal. The downside to these portable units is that they tend to take considerably more space than window units. The exhaust hose, while flexible will prevent the unit from getting up against the wall by the window. This is also in part intentional by design since these portable units need space in the back to draw in air. Setting up the Wifi took a minute to figure out as the instructions are not the clearest. The manual kept stating I needed to wait for a CF prompt. But the only prompts I got were AP and OF. The manual was of no help regarding those codes. The TCL app is obsolete and now uses the Smart Life - Smart Living App. As is with all smart devices, yet another app to clutter my phone. Once the app is connected to the AC unit, it can be linked to SmartThings eco system. Having wifi allows me to control the AC unit like I control my Nest remotely. Which means I can activate the AC while away from my home on a hot day to start the cool down. I like that the AC unit has a washable filter. The manual states that it should be washed on a weekly basis. It seems excessive but it isn't a large filter. The unit isn't super light, but it isn't unwieldy with the handles on both sides. As of this date it is still rather cool out so I am unsure of how effective the AC unit is at cooling down the hot room. But at 2x the BTUs from the old unit I'm sure it won't give us any problems on the cooling front. The noise is significantly better than the old window unit and doesn't vibrate the room when the condenser kicks on. The white noise generated from the unit drowns out most noises outside of the room. I did notice the power draw when the condenser on this TCL kicks on dims the lights in the room momentarily but it did not trip my breaker. I'm not a hot weather person, but I hope this TCL Portable AC Unit will keep the nights bearable.

TCL Portable AC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly didn't what to give this review on this product do to the issues I have found with it as I don't know if it's a defective product or not. Cons I got the TCL Portable AC and have been using it for the past two days and it doesn't seem to be cooling properly along with a few other things such as it states that it works with Alexa tired to connect it to Alexa and no go even with google or even the app's the manual says to get also even tried to connect it to my WiFi router and it's a tri band WiFi7 router with the 2.4GHz it shows to be connected but it's not. As for it not cooling properly it blows cold but it seems to be fan only I ran it for 4 hour's on April 2nd with the door to my bedroom closed except for an inch which is what the manual tells you to do also in the manual it tells you how to connect it to your WiFi along with the codes that should show up none of the codes from the manual show up for example CF is supposed to be the first one you get when doing the setup to connect but instead it shows AP. The only pros this product has in my opinion is the fact that it is easy to install and on wheels which makes it easy to move. I'm not at 100% sure on recommending this as a get foe anyone at this time due to the issues I have had with it

Perfect for Summer Relief!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was on the market for an AC unit, portable or not, for my office at home. Living in the desert with a couple of gaming PC's in a small space can get pretty toasty, so I needed a solution that didn't make the rest of my house a fridge while having the office barely livable. That said, this portable AC unit by TCL has come in clutch! It was insanely easy to set up and get going. The only bit I found a little difficult was getting the duct and window situation sorted out. If you're a bit more handy than the average person, you should have no issues. It works well with Alexa and Google Home, though I found using the remote that came with it to be the easiest and simplest way of operating it. The power cord is not very long, so make sure you have a safe way of plugging it in if the outlet is far from the window. The duct that comes with it is also not very long, so keep that in mind if you want to keep it far away from he window for whatever reason. I don't need a humidifier, but it is nice to have in case I ever need to control the humidity level for some reason. I do appreciate that I can use it as a fan even when I don't need AC. The air it blows is ice cold as well, you will not be disappointed. I also want to mention that the AC went out at my work, and it was HOT. The main room everyone works in is pretty big, so I wasn't sure it would be able to cool it effectively, but it managed to turn an 85-degree room into an 80-degree room, which held us over perfectly until the AC was fixed. It was perfect for the rated room size and came in handy when we needed some relief in a much larger room. You can't go wrong with that! I recommend it 10/10!

The smartphone app is easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the TCL 10,000 portable air conditioner for a few weeks now, and I have to say that it has far exceeded my expectations. Being in a room of some 450 sq. ft., I needed an appliance which would offer adjustable performance without consuming much space, and this appliance is perfectly suited to the need. 3-in-1 functionality is especially attractive—it not only keeps the room cool but also serves as a trusty fan and dehumidifier, with the guarantee of comfort indoors even in hot, humid weather. Smart connectivity is one of the highlights. The smartphone app is easy to use, enabling me to control the temperature, schedule, and even remotely operate the unit from outside the house. I've also found that getting it to work under Alexa voice control is very simple, and very convenient if you have your hands occupied. Installation was also simple; step-by-step in-app instructions and window install kit supplied made it a breeze, and got me up and running in minutes. While the unit itself emits a slight buzzing sound at high cool, it's not something that would take away from its overall functionality. The energy-saving modes like Eco and Sleep have also proved effective in lowering the power bill. On the whole, with its highest-end features and predictable performance, I wholeheartedly recommend this TCL portable air conditioner five stars.

Great AC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a portable AC unit at our previous house years ago, and it worked out great. It was a name brand, which I paid a premium for In our current house, we already have central air, but in the Texas summers, there are rooms that you just can not get comfortable if the late afternoon sun beats down on it After seeing this one at Best Buy, I decided to give it a chance No, it is not a brand that I am familiar with, but the price and output meet my needs The packaged unit is small enough to fit into a back seat of a sedan, but with any refrigeration unit, leave it standing up for a day or so to settle in The packaging was simple and super easy to unbox Set-up was also super simple. You need basically 3 things. 1) the AC unit, 2) a wall socket and 3) a window to vent the hot air out It took just a few minutes to get it going, and this AC made a huge impact I know that it is not yet summer (I am getting ready) but I am absolutly confident that it will provide the extra cooling for our bedroom that we need The advantage is that I will only turn it on when needed and have the ability to move it to another room quickly if the need arrises I highly recommend a unit like this for kids play rooms or workout areas that are not occupied constantly

Just cool, man --
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TCL H10P36W portable air conditioner is turning out to be a blessing. After some recent surgery, it’s nice to have the ability to control this unit with my voice since it synced so nicely with our Echo. We haven’t had much opportunity to try this out — at least for any extended period of time. The hot weather hasn’t hit yet (thankfully). But, we’re ready for it when it arrives! The instruction manual was easy and helpful, both in print and on the app. Setup was pretty straight forward, with everything you need to get the system up and running — vent hose and window spacer. I know I already mentioned being able to control the H10P36W with voice commands, but the reality is that there are 4 ways you have control — by voice, by using the TCL Home app on your phone, by the TCL supplied remote, or by the digital LED controls at the top of the unit. Impressive. Running this A/C on a bit of a warm day recently produced chilling results. See what I did there? I have no doubt that we will be able to cool the main living area of the house with this one unit. Probably the kitchen and dinette area, as well. (We have a small 1100 sq. ft. single story home.) I know the TCL H10P36W is portable, but the reality is that once you get things set up, window vent and all, you’ll most likely leave it that way — at least until the cool weather of fall returns. Maybe set this up where you normally put your Christmas tree...? It does wheel around easily, especially if you have wood/hard-surface flooring. But remember that this weighs around 65 lbs., so it does take some effort on your part, especially on carpet. Beautiful, sleek, relatively quiet — this gets the job done. I’ve been told not to tell you that I think it’s pretty cool…so I won’t. Thank you, TCL.
