Portable air conditioner

It cools my home in a short time, I can operate the air conditioner remotely from an app on my phone. Easily accessible. Sleek nice design. Has wheels to easily transport. I was on a search hi and low for a ac unit during the hot months and landed at Best Buy. Great cost with potential finance plans. 10/10 stars. I wish I could rate it higher than 5 Stars.

Works but can be noisy

Very quiet about as loud as a fan.. cools my space perfectly.. no loud pump noise, no cycling. Does not startle my infint like my old unit..

Cooling done right
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TCL slowly crept up the TV quality ladder in the past decade. I remember those washed up screens a while back, and now, their screens compete with the big wigs of TV quality. That drive for quality manufacturing is showing in this AC unit. The case and the design is simple-- it's nothing outrageous or new. Even the components such as the tubes and window parts are not different. But each item works great. The tubes attach perfectly to the back. The hose thread lock in place. The unit is not that heavy. I could easily carry it (not out of the box) around. The TCL app is not any different either. It is easily recognizable like most other IOT apps. The instructions are easy to follow and matter integration to my Google Home is fast and effective. It recognizes the device in my system and the unit acts like a regular wall thermostat. I can set automations and it responds promptly. I have set the unit at family room to start when the temperature hits 85 degrees. Though the remote acts like any other, it's a smarter AC unit unlike my older ones and, it is responsive when operated using the app. What's great about this is, though I know it's supposed to be placed in a room around 450 sq ft, is it cools my 600 sq ft TV area with ease. Each time it hits 85 degrees, in an hour it cools the room by 8 degrees (and continuous until whatever temp is set it). Maybe because I do not have high ceilings, but still, the ability to cool the room in a quick time is great. It has not been over 100 degrees in CA yet in the past week, so I have yet to find out at that time. It is quiet too. It does not have that low vibration rumble that these units have when it's pushing cold air out. It operates like a window split type-- cool, quiet, composed. My only complaint about it is, the window components need one more panel because I use it on a vertical sliding door, so I had to put a make shift cover (using a cutout of the box). Also, it needs more screws (that actually fit the holes) to keep the window panels in place. Other than that, the AC unit works like a dream. Like I said, even with my experience with its TVs, TCL does not do flashy things or super advanced tech, but when they do things, they do it right. They have been doing it right inch by inch and I think, with the performance of this AC unit, TCL is becoming one of those great brands to trust.
