Would not purchase again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did some research for a new midsize TV with Roku and decided to punrchase this TCL 49" Series 5 TV on Black Friday weekend. It sat in its box unopened until Super Bowl Sunday when I mounted it on the wall and cut it on for the first time. Instantly there was a group of vertical lines about half an inch wide and perpendicular horizontal black lines overlaying the picture on the screen. I took the TV back to Best Buy because I had purchased a two-year warranty through them. Instead of replacing the TV they gave me a repair notice and told me it would be probably 2 weeks for Best Buy to repair my TV at their service center. I was not happy with the TV based on the fact that it had a defect upon its first use and I'm very unhappy with the Best Buy agreement. Now looking more closely at the Best Buy service order it says my TV was "dirty." It wasn't dirty. I had just installed it. It seems they were just looking for a reason to repair and not replace. I would not recommend this TCL TV nor Best Buy service agreement.

The bonus is it is reasonably priced and regularly has a deal/sale. I have two in my house and neither has had issues (one I’ve had almost a year now). Excellent quality, easy Roku setup, and minimal edges are nice to look at.
