Decent TV but hard to recommend

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.For the money this is a decent TV, but it tries to straddle the space between a true economy TV (the 4 series) and a value TV (the 6 series). I would honestly recommend spending a little more and getting the higher quality 6 series, or saving your money and getting the much more affordable 4 series. The 5 series just doesn’t offer enough of an improvement over the 4 series to warrant the increased price and will leave you feeling underwhelmed when compared to the 6 series.

Great TV For The Price

I spent quite a while researching budget 4k TVs. This one kept showing up in reviews along with the series 4. From the reviews I read, the series 5 was better for the price. I waited until there was a sale and bought it. The picture is great and the roku interface is fast and responsive. I have been really happy with this purchase.

Great Picture for the Price

First he bought a Vizio of the same size and class but the picture wasn't great. A BestBuy rep showed him this TCL picture next to a Samsung, Vizio and Sony and the quality was definitely comparable for the price of this TV. So if you want 4k quality viewing on a budget, this is the TV for you!

Great step-up from 1080p

Very impressed with the picture quality, even on non-4K content. For anyone already invested in Roku architecture for streaming, this should be a no-brainer unless you want to shell out the cash for localized dimming/micro-LED.
