All honestly I really love and enjoy this TV, I had my doubts, but it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I do have a problem with is when it uses its max power like using 4K ultra HD HDR 10 the interface tends to be laggy, but the video is perfect and just amazing quality. Honestly, best TV with awesome specs on a budget. Highly recommend Google TV interface.

Debated between this and a Sony 90k, no regrets saving a few hundred considering you still get VRR and 120hz. No brainer, great buy, not disappointed in the slightest.

Loving the TV thus far. Great for watching movies, TV shows, and Streams. Great experience on playing 120 FPS games on my Ps5 as well. Google TV experience is quick and efficient and is a lot faster for someone who moved from Fire TV. Setting up the ideal everyday settings for the TV did take a while but it was smooth sailing after that

I’m the kind of person to be skeptical of bad reviews. “Was the OS THAT bad?” “Did they even try to fix it?” Well, after a week and a half-two week I have a verdict: The TV is absolutely stunning but the bad OS completely limits the potential of this TV. When I first took the TV out it looked beautiful: Metal frame was an amazing touch not even Somy TV’s have this. Set up was okay. My internet made things slow but I’m sure someone with faster internet could finish set up in 10-15 min after updates. The TV image quality itself: Amazing. The colors are vibrant, the image quality for 4K movies was insane and I was coming from a 4K TV from 4 years ago. My main reason fir this TV was the Series X and it plays phenomenally. 4K 120hz looks beautiful, 4k 60hz Dolby Vision was something completely new to me also and it does amazing for games like Forza Horizon 5 or Halo Infinite. If you are buying this TV just for gaming or someone who does gaming then you can leave my review, buy the TV, and be 100% satisfied. If this is going to be your everyday, living room everything TV for the next few years… Here’s where the problems come in. Every so often, my picture settings will disappear. I’ll turn on the TV and it’ll be set to Vivid or Low Power, or something other than Game or Movie mode. Not only that but some settings will turn back on and off constsntly and it becomes frustrating. For a while there, when I would press the settings button to adjust picture settings, it would kick me out if my input and and take me back to the home screen. This error must have been fixed though because it no longer happens. The worst thing that can also affect some people playing games: VRR would completely mess with all my settings on my TV. Idk what happens behind the scenes and it doesn’t seem like everyone online or at TCL know what happens but when I turn VRR on it makes everything a juttery mess. Also the dimming messes up I think? Because the entire TV turn extremely bright and messes with the image. I now have the setting turned off and the TV is fine but I don’t like an advertisted feature be incredibly buggy. There’s a few more things that make the OS terrible too. After set up, home screen navigation wasn’t so bad but after a week or so the home screen felt bulky, stuttery, and “heavy.” Especially when you just turn on the TV. I don’t have any abnormal amount of apps either just Netflix, Hulu, Hbo Max, Prime Video, etc. I’ve had to resort to only using my Xbox Series X. My thing is: If I could ignore the OS and use a streaming device to avoid it, I’d maybe give it a 3.5-4. But the fact that I can’t ignore it because I’m constantly fixing picture settings that keep getting reset is frustrating. It’s sad because every movie I’ve thrown at it looks phenomenal: Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, whatever. If these issues are fixed in the future then this TV would dominate. For now, I think I will be returning this TV. I would recommend anyone looking for a TV long term, spend a little more at go with Sony X90J, LG C1, Samsung QN90A, or… something that’s not TCL for the time being until they figure out all the quirks with the TCL R646.
