What A Nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So this thing works great, and there aren’t a lot of ways to mess it up, but I sure found a way. My husband got this for Christmas. Setup was easy, until it wasn’t. We didn’t need the optical cord. We connected the sound bar via hdmi (ARC). Where we messed up is the subwoofer doesn’t really have instructions to pair with the bar if it doesn’t automatically connect. We automatically tried to connect via the Bluetooth button. Wrong. So wrong. You have to press the button w/ the arrow, which was not in the guide. We had to look it up via internet. We thought that we were in the clear, but nooooope. I read from the questions forum, and this thing is really temperamental if you don’t do it the right way the first time. Try to use the remote vs touching the sound bar. The Bluetooth would NOT stop trying to pair with something. That canceled out our hdmi connection. The actual manual is not included, and this bar doesn’t have a reset button on the back or anything like that. I saw some stuff about holding down the mute button, which made some white lights pop up, and look like it was resetting, but then it went right back to flashing for a Bluetooth connection. Eventually I just started messing with everything. Turning it off for 5 minutes, unplugging for 5 minutes, undoing everything and reconnecting…none of it worked. Then, I had the thought to hold down the power button. I held it down for ~8 seconds and then a purple/white light came on and it did a sort of restart thing! I didn’t find anything online about that and the questions were not very helpful at all. We, after an hour of googling, were about to just throw it back in the box and go to the store for a new one. Overall, sound is great. Setup seems to be a 50/50. If for any reason you need to restart and yours just had the quick start like ours, hold down the power button!

Regarding the subwoofer disconnect issue

I have concluded that cec is bugging out the sound bar, not allowing it reconnect if the sound bar is turned on with cec. If you turn the sound bar on before turning the tv on, the subwoofer will not have an issue pairing. Is this still a pita? Yes but hopefully this helps someone

If you think it will sound like to more expensive units it will not. If your looking for that level of sound don’t buy this unit. But if you just want to vastly improve the audio over the bare foot tv this is a great unit and a great price. Could not be raiser to use and setup. The one feature I miss is the ability to adjust the EQ my self instead just picking one of three option.

Quality is best at this price and a hundred over.

For the price this is definitely the best buy. You can find better but for over twice the price. The clarity is better than the others. Volume I use is only around 6 to 14 out of 28. Going higher is too loud for my small room.

Works for bedroom tv

Dialogue is easy to hear. Only complaint is the jumping by 3 on the volume but it is a tcl roku issue.

Worthless!!!

BUT, sound quits when I change a channel and I have to mess with the controls to get it back again. Highly annoying and not right. Now, it is unplugged since it was making an horrendous noise-- sounded like it would blowup any minute. I do NOT recommend buying this at all! " Ease of use" would be 5 stars IF it worked right.

Good for a month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked great for one month was a gift from family extended warranty does not go into effect until after manufacturer warranty expires after talking to manufacturer they told me my tv was bad but after several more calls they are looking into warranty repair or replace

Not as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this sound bar for 1 day and returned it. The promise of "booming" bass was non existent. The sound bar itself had a tin can sound. Waste of time to even try it.
