    So I admittedly bought into the hype surrounding this sound bar and the whole Raydanz and ATMOS at a reasonable price point. As I should have known, you typically get what you pay for and this proved no different. The physical set up wasn't bad but I attribute that to the fact that I was connecting it to a TCL TV in the first place. After getting it plugged in and working I found the actual ability to really customize anything was severely lacking when compared to other slightly more expensive brands. It was also a significant pain to update as the documentation on it's connection to WIFI was non-existent at the time I purchased this. Online forums were my only opinion for information as anything form TLC was the scripted call center responses. They may have fixed their documentation since but who cares and I will cover that. TCL did send out a couple of firmware updates which broke more than they helped. The updates caused issues with the sub after a time and more significantly the updates seemed to have caused some type of memory issue as the sound bar would stop responding to any inputs after a week or so which requires a hard reset to get it working again. With that I also feel as though there was some engineering and QC issues as now mine seems to have bricked itself even though it's use was less than casual and no power surges or issues that would cause the unit to overheat. The unit just after the warranty period failed. My wife have turned on the TV and the sound bar continued to flash "Hello" and nothing else. The remote and the touch buttons on top were totally unresponsive. Tried a couple of hard restarts and the same. I looked into trying a factory reset which also failed because even though the unit recognized the push button on the remote the unit simply flashed "Wait" indefinitely. Bottom line is the sound was OK for the price point but the software and seemingly hardware is utter garbage. Buyer beware. Buy something of higher quality because as they say, but cheap, buy twice. I will likely not be buying another TCL sound bar even on the cheap.

    Sounds good when it works. The sound has dropped in and out since i got it intermittently. Sometimes several times a day other times maybe a week will go by without problems. Ive had it for 3 years and im taking it back under warranty because the sound has completely stopped altogether.

    Less than three years and no longer works. The subwoofer was meh. Can get a better soundbar for less money than this! I called customer service and they were less than helpful. I learned my lesson on this brand.

    TCL Alto vs. Sonos ARC

    I bought this TCL Alto 9+ to replace the Sonos 5.1 home theater playbase bundle that I have in my master bedroom. After getting the speakers set up and watching the Mandalorian with my son last Sunday night I realized that the sounds quality was great with this setup. I honestly didn't even miss the rear speakers that with the other system. The bass and clarity of the show came across perfectly. I highly recommend this speaker set up. An added bonus is that this system is wayyyyy less expensive than the system I replaced it with.

    First would like to start off by saying that I love this sound bar and for the price you. an't beat it imo. I would've given it 5 stars if weren't for this one issue I'm experiencing and that's with my Xbox. When it's plugged into one of the HDMI ports directly into the tv, then I'll have delay in audio. If I plug directly into the sound bar and the Xbox goes into game mode the TV displays "No signal". Sometimes unplugging the power supply to the tv, xbox and the sound bar will have everything working but then when I watch a movie the screens has static effect. Reached out to TCL support via twitter and now just waiting on to be contacted by one of their representatives.

    Mediocre Sound At Best

    I bought this sound bar because I have a TCL TV that does not work well with other brand sound bars. The ARC system just does not properly sync with other brands. Please don't be fooled by all the "'great sound" reviews. This TCL sound bar will NOT impress anyone with its sound quality. Voices are very clear, but there is no depth or richness to the sound. The subwoofer is very weak. If your TV works well with other sound bars, you would be smart to look elsewhere.

    Xbox One X Green Dot SoundBar

    When I plugged in my Xbox One X into the HDMI Passthrough on the TCL Alto 9+ then with the Included HDMI Cable from the SoundBar to my 4K Sony TV and it suddenly has Green Flashy Dots all over the screen. Only happens if I plug it to the soundbar? Any Opinions before Returning it?

    TERRIBLE Subwoofer

    I’ve been immensely disappointed in this sound bar so far. For the most part, the issue actually lies in the subwoofer. It doesn’t sound good at all, it’s very distorted, and it pops constantly. I have it sitting less than a foot from the sound bar and no matter what I’m watching and what mode it’s in, there’s severe distortion and popping that completely ruins the experience. Will be returning ASAP.

    Software Update Broke Atmos

    When I first got this soundbar it was awesome and sounded great, however, the software update to 2.5 broke atmos. The sound is choppy and music can’t hold. I’ve reached out multiple times to TCL, but they have no response. Hoping to change this rating to a 5 if they fix atmos.
