Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the amplified indoor stereo antenna's reception, ease of use, and FM reception, with many praising its improved signal strength and ease of installation. They also appreciate the antenna's design and performance. However, customers are negative about the antenna's AM reception and the shortness of its cord. Some found the AM reception unsatisfactory, while others wished for a longer cord to allow for more flexible placement.

I bought this amplified antenna but there isn't a place on the antenna to plug in the AC/DC adapter. I'm confused

Bought this to improve reception of FM stations. I live in a remote area and only get one station using a half wave diapole antena (piece of line cord split and spread out to about 1 meter). This product did not perfom as well as my home made antenna.

    Don't Waste Your Money

This thing is a complete waste of money. I bought it thinking that we might be able to get better reception for some of the stations that come in right at the fringe. Not only do we not, it has the annoying habit of stopping and starting the radio flow, like the antenna is being diconnected, then reconnected a couple seconds later. This does not happen with the regualar FM antenna. I also had to return the first one I got. The power supply went bad about 3 days after I hooked it up. Bottom line: Don't waste your time. If you want better reception, get a bigger or longer antenna not this piece of junk.

I got better reception by attaching a long strand of wire to the receiver then stretching it across the table. Trying to set it up was a complete waste of time

    Poor connection

Have had this antenna for a long time, but hardly used it. However, when I finally did need it, I found that reception was in and out. It uses a pressure fitting rather than a threaded fitting for its coax cable connection to your receiver. It makes poor contact as demonstrated by the signal coming in and out as I wiggled the connection. It could be the receiver's female connector, but I doubt it as it's a high end Pioneer unit. I'm thinking about trying to change the antenna's connector and if that doesn't work, I'm tossing it.

I've been around awhile and know something about how antennas work. This one does next to NOTHING to improve AM or FM reception. Buying this would be a complete waste of your money. You want a great FM antenna? Build your own. Get some 300 Ohm twin lead and make a folded dipole 15' in length. Place it as high as you can horizontally. This is tuned for the middle of the FM broadcast band which is 98 Mhz. You get twin lead from Radio Shack or other electronics stores. Your homemade antenna will pick up stations in the fringe area where "multipath distortion" typically occurs. Trust me.

for an electronic antenna I would have expected better reception, not much better than any cheap antenna, still have to move it all over the place to remove static from reception

Cool looking, but not good for Radio Reception

I have a Sony HD Tabletop radio and thought I'd try this antenna. I had been using some speaker wire strung through the trees next to my house. Well, I hooked this up, plugged it in, and found that the wire outside picked up better. Admittedly, I'm more interested in AM DXing than FM, but I couldn't pick up anything with this. I had it grounded, hooked up correctly, and got mediocre reception. Do yourself a favor, go with an outside antenna if you're serious about your radio reception. Best Buy was fantastic and allowed me to return it.

This is the worst antenna I have ever used. I was using the simple wire antenna that came with my receiver which pulled in about 15 stations and some were fuzzy so I figured I would try one of these amplified antennas so I hooked this one up and ended up getting 1 station which didn't even come in clear.

One star is to many. We have a local FM station, which is strong in the car, but weak at home, fades, has hiss from time to time. With this antenna we don't even receive it. Another local FM which is strong without an antenna, becomes weak with hissing noise once this antenna was hooked up. On AM, the stations we could receive without this antenna, are gone. Auto tune with antenna, 1 station without this antenna we receive 3.

My husband bought this for me so that I could listen to AM stations on our stereo. We live out away from the city, but not that far and get great reception sitting in our driveway in the car, but can barely get the strongest AM station in our area in the house and cannot get other AM stations at all. This antenna was actually worse than the cheap little antenna that came with the stereo. I would not recommend at all.

No better than antenna that comes with receivers.

I bought this antenna at a premium to improve reception over the standard AM/FM antenna that came with my Yamaha receiver. Primarily, I wanted to insure I could receive AM HD signals and FM HD signals that generally require more gain and sensitivity. No difference. Complete waste of money. You'll have to buy a true premium antenna from someone like C. Crane.

I bought the unamplified one and got bad reception so I returned it and bought this one. NO DIFFERENCE!!!! I have to hold the antenna in my hand to get the best reception. I don't know if its where I live but I live in a pretty populated area. I regret not returning it when I had the chance.

The unit does not work as advertised. Had to crank the gain all the way up and sit it on a shelf next to my ceiling to get a few stations to come in. Then have to move it around depending on the weather.

I hooked this up to my Pioneer Elite receiver and it was actually worse than the wire that came with it. I lost the receipt so I cannot even take it back. Looks cool but that is it. I live in DFW and should be able to at least get decent reception.

This antenna only brought in 1 more station than the antenna that came with the stereo. When I attach the old antenna to my stereo in the garage less than 20 feet away, pulls in all the in market stations.
