Decided to "cut the cord". Went with the Terk MTVGLS after reading reviews. Live more than 40 miles north of Dallas, so liked the 65 mile range. Very simple installation. Easily picked up over 40 digital local channels, most of which my basic cable didn't even offer. Picture was crystal clear. Only draw back was the stand that attaches to the antenna was cheaply made with inferior screws. Would recommend this model.

After shopping online, we went into the local Best Buy to purchase an indoor antenna. We intended to get a Clear Stream Eclipse based on reviews, but the salesperson said this Terk model had better performance in our area. We paid more than 50% more than planned to give this antenna a try. It hooked up easily and programmed in a snap. It increased our channel availability compared to our old indoor antenna and cleared up four others that had been in-and-out. Unfortunately that reception was short-lived. The next morning, even with perfectly clear weather outside, we were back to the same reception as the old antenna and also lost four other stations. We will be returning the Terk. Hopefully others in our area will continue to be pleased with its performance, but it just didn't work for us. We are grateful for the Best Buy policy allowing us to return this antenna easily.

I dropped cable about 4 years ago. We picked up a $35 dollar antenna and it was pretty good for a while. Our best spot got 24 channels but promptly lost them after a scan. So we could move the antenna around and get 7 channels of good quality. The main one I cared about was Metv. But we would move it around to watch sports or certain shows we wanted to see. Then we got a new router for our internet with a mesh wifi. Apparently it's mesh interfered with my antenna and it became impossible to hold any channels. So I started looking for omni direction amplified antennas at best buy. I wanted to get one brand but when I went to the store this Terk just caught my eye. I figured I would give it a try and if it didn't work just exchange it. Well right out of the box, before it was set up, and only plugged in, I could see this thing was working. Once fully setup it got 27 channels. The quality is excellent for every channel it picks up. I can now get ABC/CBS/NBC/Metv/Cozi/PBS/Grit and some other channels I didn't know existed. It gets them all without having to move it around. We've had it for 2 weeks and it still holds all of these channels excellently. Of course if it is windy or bad weather it can mess with the quality, but that is typical of all antennas. Still this has held the channels regularly. The only bad things I can say about this is it's stand screws don't want to go in/hold the stand up. I don't like the fact it needs to be plugged in, but it's being amplified is why it works so well for me.

I first bought the Mohu Leaf Ultimate 50 and could get all stations except ABC. The ABC tower is 47.6 miles from my home. I bought this Terk Jan-3-2017, since it said it had a 65 miles distance. After connecting it up, not only could I NOT get ABC, but lost FOX and CBS came in skippy. The range was not near as good as the Mohu leaf Ultimate. I am going to try the Mohu Sky 60 and if that doesn't pull in ABC, I will keep the Mohu leaf. The Leaf is actually cheaper that this one...

    Can't get VHF for me

I bought this item based on the sales person's recommendation in the store. I spent 4 days with it trying it in different positions in both rooms with TVs. I could only pick up some UHF channels with it sitting in a north window up high, but couldn't pull my local VHF stations at all. I returned it and got the Antennas Direct Clear Stream 2Max, which picked up all the stations I wanted on the first try. I'm sure if I were to put that one outside or in the attic it would pull in even more.

Terk TV Antenna great for indoor use

Just purchased our fourth Terk 65 mile rated MTVGLS antenna. Using them on separate TV's in the vertical position without splitters and using the amplifier on all units. Generally good reception on 69 channels with some problems on interference within our house in the different rooms (pixelating with weather changes, cars driving by, house structure near to the antenna). I think most of our TV towers are on a single mountain about 45 miles away on the Southwest side of Phoenix, AZ. Some tips for placement: 1) Place antenna as far away from the TV as reasonable, 2) May also help to rotate the TV as well as antenna, 3) I have not yet tried the horizontal orientation of the antenna in the different rooms.

Did not pick up stations within 25 miles

I was hoping to cut the cord with our TV provider when I purchased this fairly expensive Terk indoor, flat amplified antenna but I was disappointed with this one. We live within 25 miles of 4 network stations in Southern NJ and the stations (all in Philidelphia) are all located in the same direction. I downloaded the RCA antenna app (as recommended on the Terk website) and positioned the Terk using my iPhone in the direction of the 4 station antennas. The Terk did pick up 3 of the 4 network stations but not the ABC channel. I had the antenna located next to a window and tried using the included stand to stand it up on end and then to lay it down. Standing the antenna up got me the 3 network stations, but laying it down (after installing the stand on the back of the antenna) received only 2 of the 4 network stations. Not ready to cut the cord yet. I'll return the Terk and try one of the Mohu antennas.

Had a GE Bar HD 200 rated at 50 Miles. Thought I'd get a few more channels moving to this since it was rated at 65 miles. Fit the map that would get me the last channels I wanted. Installed and got less channels then I had before. Returning and going back to the GE Bar HD 200 rated at 50 Miles

    Turk Indoor Antenna

I bought a Turk indoor antenna and set it up. i then scanned for channels and found a good number of channels. I was thrilled so I watched the Doctor Oz program and then I changed the channel and went through the entire channel lineup. When I got to the very last channel the screen went dark. I could hear the video of a cowboy movie but I could see nothing and I could not change the channel from this cowboy station. I contacted the technicians at Turk and they told me the problem was my remote control. So I put brand new batteries in the remote control and nothing happened to change the situation...screen still dark and sound played the cowboy movie. So I contacted the Turk technicians again and they told me the problem was with my TV. They would not give me any alternative or any further help, outside of their claim that my TV was malfunctioning. I disconnected the Turk indoor antenna from my TV, unplugged my television and plugged it back in and my TV works perfectly now. However when I reconnect they Terk indoor antenna, and I page through the channels, the very same thing happens again...screen goes dark on last channel, only sound and no way to move off that channel. So I unplugged the Turk indoor antenna again and I unplugged my TV and my TV suddenly became perfectly functional. I suggest you buy this product at your own risk.

Returned this device because it still did not deliver signal from nearby NBC/FOX located 12 miles from my house. This product seems to be of better quality than RCA indoor antenna, but still did not deliver the 65 mile range that it markets itself as having. My living room has wall to floor windows, south facing towards Seattle and could not get the channels that are advertised on its box.

Best (indoor) DTV antenna I've tried

    Posted .

I've tried about half a dozen different indoor antennas, and this has proven much more effective than any of the others. With the other antennas, I've been able to get 30-36 channels in the Boston inner suburbs; I got 41 and 47 with two different scan attempts with this. I prefer the rigid vertical plate and base mount of this unig to the more common thin ones; that's a matter of taste. I also like the multiple mounting options. I would prefer a longer cable, particularly from the antenna to the amplifier, but that's easy to fix with another cable and barrel connector. I'm sure that with an outdoor antenna I could get more channels; I'm unable to get WMUR (about 60 miles distance), for instance. But that requires significantly more work to install. For living near a metro area, this works very well.

It is supposed to be a 60 mile antenna, and we live 9-12 miles from the major ones. it works reasonably well IF the wind isn't blowing or airplanes aren't going by. We live near O'Hare airport, and whenever planes land or takeoff in our direction, it scrambles our signal. We used to have and old aluminum rooftop antenna that worked fine. I tried a few newer ones, but have yet to find something that works

The sales person said ignore the reviews, but in the end they were accurate. I only got a handful of local channels and only one was one that I consider a priority. I couldnt get ABC or CBS local channels. Only Fox and NBC. The UHF did better, but I'm mainly interested in sports, local news, and network programming - primetime shows and daytime soaps & talk shows. Very disappointing.

I had a Mohu leaf 50 and found the a.c. adapter was failing. So I purchased the TERK. BIG MISTAKE! You could stand on a chair raising it as high as possible and rotated everyway and rescaned. Maybe 1 or 2 station were watchable. Returned within 2-3 hours. Went back to store and got another Mohu leaf 50. Placed in ANY Position, any height Very Good reception on almost all channels.
