You have to be in an area with no trees blocking the antenna and close to metropolitan area. We are about 45 miles south of Houston. We sat ours on the window seal, and it works great. If the weather sucks, you will more than likely not get a good picture. We haven't had dish in over in a year, but we watched the Superbowl. It worked great!

Not Really 360 degree Coverage

Then the local (~- 6 miles away) won't come in at all. Not omnidirectional.
