Amazed at how good it works! Great Pic Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased so far with the product. I have had it 4 days. I am amazed at the picture quality. I don't get all the channels in my market but I live pretty far north of the towers and I live in a 4 level apartment community that is mostly concrete and courtyards ( the ones with the interior hallways and parking garage style). My only wish is that the cord was longer. I have a wall mounted TV and I have to move it now so it can reach the window. I may contact the company to see if they have any options. Even if they don't I am totally happy!! Saving $60 per month on my "Cable" bill for basic channels. : )

Side by side comparison to MOHU Leaf
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have the Leaf 50 mile radius antenna in the living room with very good reception. We needed a second antenna for another room. Decided to give Terk a try. First off , it is about $20 more; it's stuck to the inside of the box with double sided tape so you have to tear the box apart making the product nonreturnable. The cable that runs from the antenna to the TV is not very long and it's not removable so you can't replace it with a longer cable if you need to place the antenna further away from the TV. Before installing to the second TV, I decided to see how it did on the TV where we had the Leaf. I tried it in the exact spot where we got the best reception with the Leaf, and in several other places. Very poor performance. Stations that came in great with the Leaf were not even picked up and others tile so bad you can't watch them. Side by side comparison, I can't recommend this product. The reception on the second TV is also very poor. I'd gladly exchange it for another Leaf but the box is torn apart.

Easy to Set Up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live about 30 miles from Philly and already had a HD Open Air Antenna that pretty much did its job. But I was hoping to be able to get 1 or 2 additional channels. So I bought this one for $79, doesn't work any better then the last one I purchased. However, I think I'll keep it because it's flat and pretty unobtrusive and hides nicely in the window.

OK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TERK - Ultrathin Indoor Amplified HDTV Antenna - Black/White should have reception for shows for miles and miles. The reception is very good when you actually get it. Every little breeze seems to whisper Louise and takes the picture away. When Louise is around, if it's not pixilating, the picture is just not there at all. It works quite well if there's not a hint of breeze but doesn't work any better than the $40. antenna we have on a different TV.

Perfect Soultion and FLAT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Phenomenal performance!!! Had a Terk antennae previously and needed to add to another tv and WOW this thing works. And talk about thin this is like a piece of paper. Got the amplified version just to be safe and one scan locked all the Indy channels. I'm located west of Indy too. Very very cool design and idea. Great job Terk

Ok, I guess
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on recommendation of customer service in Electronics Dept. I originally tacked it behind the wall of my big screen, but couldn't get Fox, which I wanted, but I did get other stations. He had told me Fox would come in. However, the instructions did say to stretch out the long cable, so I did, putting it across my fireplace and on a shelf just inside my front door, facing 90 degrees from where it was on the wall. Fox 5 now comes in, but not a couple of the other stations I was getting behind the TV. I put my TV through another "search for broadcasting" and have many more stations now, so facing south east (in my case) worked best. However, I now have a cord swung across the wall in front of my fireplace (not so attractive), so will play with other locations more discreet in hiding the cable. Most stations I do get are VERY clear, more so then when it was on wall behind the TV. So, location, location, location. Rabbit ears didn't nothing so this is MUCH better.

Works no better than unamplified flat antenna
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Terk ThinTV1 amplified antenna is advertised as having a sixty mile range. I live twenty five miles from Boston and this antenna has difficulty receiving a quarter of the stations there. In fairness, I can't "see" Boston, there are trees and a hill in-between but the performance of this amplified antenna is no better than the unamplified RCA flat box HDTV antenna it was purchased to replace. (Engineer's Trick - By simply putting a metal screen behind the unamplified antenna I can get it to pull in all the stations.) This antenna works and the paper-thin lightweight design allows it to be easily mounted but other options exist that are less money and don't have to be plugged-in.

So far so good....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this antenna for rural cabin based on recommendation from Best Buy staff member. Tried old fashioned rabbit ears with digital converter to no avail. Hooked up this antenna and was able to pull in 10 channels with very good picture. I did notice that it worked best in ideal clear skies, and had trouble with signals when cloudy, but worked none the less. I tried a similar model from a different brand and that did not work at all. So far happy with antenna.
