I love being able to charge at home and how quickly this helps me top off my car. I mostly charge at night but if I ever need it in the middle of the day, it helps a lot to be able to charge quickly.

I originally bought the Tesla Wall Connector because I wanted the best quality charger, and since I own a Tesla, I assumed their charger would be the best option. For the first year, it worked perfectly. Then one day, I came home to an error message saying “Wall Connector Overheating.” There was no actual overheating issue, it was just a false error because of a failed sensor, according to Tesla. I called Tesla to get it replaced under warranty, but they said I had to be home during the process, and the return process takes up to 14 days. I live nowhere near a supercharger so I bought another one, and these chargers are not cheap at $450. The installation went smoothly, but after its very first firmware update, it went into a kind of “recovery mode.” It assigned a random default ID that didn’t match the actual wall connector, which completely locked me out of the settings in the app. Could not be factory reset. Originally, my electrician had set it to limit charging at 50 amps, but after the firmware glitch, it defaulted back to 60 amps, which is dangerous for my wiring. The only way to fix this was to manually adjust the charging settings every time I plugged in my car. If I ever forgot, there was a real risk of fire or damaging my electrical system. I called Tesla again when I was home during their California hours, and they walked me through factory reset steps, but nothing worked. They agreed it needed replacement and set up a warranty swap for both units (the original and the new one). During that same call, the rep told me at least I could still charge with the one I had as long as I manually lowered the amperage. What they didn’t tell me is that as soon as they process a warranty replacement, they automatically deactivate your current charger. So, the next day, I came home with about 30% battery and discovered I couldn’t charge at all. I I had to drive to the nearest city in the opposite direction to use a Supercharger. Incredibly frustrating especially because they didn't warn me this would happen. In the end, I had to go out and buy a third Tesla Wall Connector just to keep my car usable while waiting on replacements. This one is working well, so I'll have a couple spares. Bottom line: While the product works great when it works, the firmware issues, lack of communication from Tesla support, and the risk of suddenly being unable to charge your car make this a hard product to recommend. If this third one fails, I will be switching to a different brand entirely.

Works great with my model Y, make sure you use the right fuse size in your breaker box.

Very easy to install and commission. I hooked it up with 40A breaker and limited to 32A. Whole process was pretty straight forward. you do not have to install anything else to manage cable is a huge factor.

Must have for any Tesla owner. Cuts costs down significantly. Smart enough to pair to your vehicle, Solid cord length, and no issues mounting externally.

I had an electrician that installed the charger in less than an hour. It only takes a couple hours of charging after driving all day long. Fantastic product!!!

It’s nice to have an OEM charger installed in the garage. Cable is plenty long and durable. Having this on the wall tells others that, “ hey, this guy wanted more than a level 1 charger, he leveled up to a 2!”. Get one.

Super compact design and looks great on the wall. Electrician was able to install easily. Adding to Tesla app was easy as well and able to schedule charging easily.

Works well after 4 months. No issues, properly charges the car as it should. Don't use aftermarket for Tesla.

Install was fairly easy used a 14/50 range cord since I already had that outlet there, everything worked fine cord was plenty long enough to reach on other side of car.

These are 10x better than any universal charger or anything like that. If you've got a Tesla, you need one of these!! They're super quick & easy to install, plus we were able to get it delivered in like 2 days. Had one ordered from Amazon that kept getting delayed for almost 2 months!!

No brainer if you own a Tesla...or two... The super long cord makes it easy to charge your car from almost any position or when friends come over and need a boost while parked in the driveway. I suggest hiring an electrician, make sure you torque the bolts down per the instructions to make sure you have a solid connection. For you non Tesla owners: this is the standard going forward by most (95%?) car manufacturers, So you're basically future proofed by buying this model. There's a Universal model as well that's available, that's only useful if you have the old school Level 2 charger on your non-Tesla today, but those are going away.
