Had never seen before this purchase making this a blind buy. Was hoping it wasn't a bad choice. Turns out it wasn't totally. Not disappointed, but not blown away either. Cheesy but not overly so.

I had never heard of this movie until watching "Ready Player One." Then I saw the movie at Best Buy so I picked it up. Not too bad, especially for 1980's fans.

If your in to 80's b films this is the film for you. Steelbook has good artwork and the transfer looks good.

This is a quirky movie that is not just the same old. It boldly advertises its never to be made sequel. Too bad because this really is a great movie with some appropriately over the top performances. In some ways it was ahead of its time as it has a comic book base to the story line. Some really great lines are in it and it is a movie which is fun to watch more than once. Some of the dialogue is pretty quick and you really don't want to miss some of the clever quips. Appropriate for all although the young may find some of it a frightening. The movie generally moves at a great pace... maybe a little faster than some of the critics could handle. Above all else it was a hard sell when released since it was just not the standard rehashes that Hollywood loves. It is a sci-fi action adventure with Buckaroo as a brain surgeon / rock star / high adventure interdimensional traveller and you will just have to see it to appreciate the greatness it attempted and to lament that we will never see Buckaroo Bonzai go up against the world crime league. Some great performances by John Lithgow and Jeff Goldblum before they became big names. The movie is a total package which gets you going into its world despite the lunacy.

This movie is very funny! Peter Weller is a great leading actor and John Lithgow gives a great comedic performance as the protagonist.

Great cult sci-fi film from the 80s starring a young Peter Weller, Jeff Goldblum and John Lithgow. Remember watching this multiple times as a kid.

Shout Factory! came out swinging for their new label, and we're better for it.

This is a pretty good movie that kept me in it the entire time.

As much as I dislike this cult-classic film, I'll be forever in its debt, as writer W.D. Richters script for its intended sequel eventually became the basis for John Carpenter's 'Big Trouble In Little China' (my all-time favorite movie). Unfortunately, for 'Buckaroo Bonzai,' the bizarre and muddled story casts a heavy shadow on the excellent cast and lavish production design. For those who did like the film though, here's a superb special edition featuring a beautiful anamorphic widescreen transfer.
