Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the gameplay, citing it as fabulous and fun with excellent graphics. Many also appreciate the vast amount of content and the expansive open world, although some experienced occasional lag depending on internet connection. While the story is considered good, a persistent concern is the requirement of an internet connection to play.

    Good game slow at first

Everyone says how bad this game is and they compare it to skyrim .its not skyrim it takes place 1000 of years before skyrim .the game does start out slow with low Loot drops but once u hit higher levels u will get so much gear that u run out of room to store .this game is fun game lots of gametime .only downside why I didn't give it 5 stars is because u can't transfer your pc characters to the ps4 version but u can link your account which does nada for u so not sure what's the link account for .they should let pc players transfer there account your payin 60 bucks .but other wise It's a good game if your into mmo's if not stay away u won't like it .hope that helps make your decision.

I own both the Xbox one and PS4 Elder Scrolls versions online and I am just so amazed by far! Hardcore gamer who also has the coolest girlfriend for letting me play hours of this on my spare time, graphics are better on PS4 and less lag than Xbox One where I was having issues logging in and longer wait times! PS4 is the best , I have been an Elder Scrolls fan for as long as I can remember . Worth every penny

    Solid Elder Scrolls Game

I'm by no means a hardcore fan of Elder Scrolls, but I have spent around 100-200 hours playing previous games. What I like most about Elder Scrolls Online is that it's almost exactly like an Elder Scrolls game with people running around (some who are children with their mics on...), which you can't really say about any other MMORPG based on a single- or multiplayer standalone or franchise.

They did good turning Elder Scrolls into an MMO. Its not exactly like Skyrim, but that is ok because it is its own thing. As an MMO it is great and still feels like an Elder Scrolls game to me. Can't wait to see more.

    Beyond What I Expected

As much as I wanted Elder Scrolls Online to be good, I couldn't help but feel it was going to be a let down, an MMORPG on a console? They have never felt right. Zenimax hit the nail on the head with ESO, they have such minor things they need to touch up to make this a perfect game. I was eerie about my decision due to earlier comments made about the game from PC players back at launch. But I'm more than happy I gave the game a try and now I can' stop playing it.

I was really excited to get this for PS4 and in a lot of ways, the payoff was worth it. If I had time as a family man to sink into this MMO then I would do so. However when you have limited time, you need a game like this to grab you and pull you in. ESO does not succeed in this but there is enough of the old mythology in there to keep you interested, albeit without the commitment to a true plot and to your character. That said, I really want to head back to my PS3 and experience Skyrim again.

    disappointing but great graphics

I hate to write a negative review so quickly but this game is tremendously disappointing. The PS4 version, as was the case with the PS3 version, starts out in an enclosed sort of area and is pretty bland. On PS3 once you get past the opening sequence the game really opens up and catches your attention right away. I found this not the case with the PS4 version. I find it very disappointing that there is so little looting. On the PS3 version essentially every kill you can loot for armor and weapons and more. You can pick plants and loot crates and on and on. With this PS4 version enemies you kill just evaporate and there is no loot. You approach a bookshelf and instead of reading multiple books or finding many different items there is one thing on a bookshelf to activate and you don't know what it is you will find until you activate bookshelf. This may seem like a strange dislike but just about every shelf has something called a lore book or a skill book. Many may think that is a great thing, but it takes away that all right I found a skill book feeling when you are getting them virtually every time. The menus are very different from prior version and somewhat difficult to navigate when it comes to merchants and cooking and such. The colors and scenery and graphics are beautiful and there definitely is more fluidity than the prior version. I only played for two hours probably, but encountered no glitching at all. I probably wouldn't have played that long but I so enjoyed the PS3 version I kept thinking this has to get better, this has to get better -- no, it doesn't. As far as MMO is concerned the only description that comes to mind is a bad version of DCUO. People on horses are whisking past constantly. The biggest difference I noticed from DCUO is any time someone with a mic is near you their audio inundates everything, even if you have no interaction with them. I didn't even have a mic on and the crowd chatter drowned out everything on the screen. It is to the point that you cannot hear the stock game characters at all, but fortunately the text is captioned on the screen so you can read along, but it is so distracting to have all these conversations cluttering up the background. I may go back to this game at some point. I was anticipating being up all night and playing what I thought would be an amazing followup and I have no interest in visiting the online version of Skyrim any time soon. It was very boring actually. I am not a World of Warcraft player or really many other MMO games so I cannot offer a comparison on those. I actually stopped playing on the PS4 and went up and started a new character in Skyrim on the PS3 and had a much better time. I understand many have a different experience, but this humble "gamer" was tremendously disappointed with this version.

    a ton of fun

This game looks gorgeous on my 4K Sony 43" 240 TV sitting 2 feet away with reader glasses (age)! I like it better on the ps4 with this TV than on my 5K iMac (also because of the controller and screen size). It is my first MMO after falling in love with Bethesda games. It took awhile to learn to crafting my own leveled armor, weapons, and learning the MMO type combat skills enough to stay alive. Now I am having so much fun doing the quests, hunting materials, and an occasional group experience which is such a blast! I am not trying to rule Tamriel (yet) but I just want to be there to enjoy all that beauty, travel, exploration, and experience solo and with (strangers ha ha). I have played Skyrim so much I am getting tired of it (gasp). I did a comparison with it and ESO looks and even feels better now. Its alive. It has an Oblivion feel to it which is warming. LOL. If you have enough time to make any adjustments to your style or set up and then to learn a new genre if you haven't experienced this sort of hybrid before, then you owe it to yourself to sink down into your easy chair for this one. I am used to playing games on an easy difficulty and have learned how to make this game easy enough for me to do it. It is a great escape from physical pain and also a brain stimulus. I expect it to be my life at least until Fallout 4 and definitely until Elder Scrolls 6.

This is an awesome game and a fantastic MMO for consoles. The game play and controls are solid and if this is your first venture into MMORPG's , you are in for a treat. Try it for yourself. With no subscription fees and a solid delve into the Elder Scrolls universe you will not be disappointed.

It's a very fun game but don't expect to play it like Skyrim or games before it. It's an MMO after all. But like other games in the Elder Scrolls series there is tons of content here.

    Horrible Game

Honestly, Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is quite possibly one of the worst games I ever played. Despite being free to play (no subscription), the MMO does not have much going for it to keep me around. The graphics are outdated. The environment can be a little bland. The storyline is neither interesting or engaging. In fact, every quests I have done felt pointless to read or care about so I just skip over the texts and get straight to the point. Something I found that might set new players back is the compass introduced in the game. At first, it seems simple enough, but once you get out of the first dungeon and into the world, it is very important to use the normal map to search for the next desire location or objective of the quest instead before relying on the compass. Many players new to this MMO may not realize it at first, like me, which can leave them completed lost. ESO is an opened world game, which means your character will be traveling across the land a lot. Shrines are used to fast travel and are free to use if you're at one. If you're looking to fast travel while you're away from a shrine, it will cost you some coins. It will cost even more if you need to do it repeatedly while you're away from a shrine. Another option to roam around the world of ESO is to buy a horse. However, the horse cost a ridiculous amount of coins (10,000 coins). Earning money, especially in the beginning is difficult too, which will mean it will be awhile before you even have enough coins to buy a horse. I noticed many players just used real money and buy horses at the Crown Store, which can cost $9-$25 (real money). The horse can also be upgraded later in inventory space, stamina, and speed. However, you can only upgrade one of those skills once per day. Essentially, it would take you half a year to max out all those skills, which is ridiculous to me (but then again you can always use real money again to speed your way to the maximum....). I really felt like the developers made everything very difficult for you on purpose just so you would resort to buying things on the Crown Store to speed things up, but the prices are very overpriced. The gameplay is decent at best. At first, your attacks will feel generic but it does eventually get a little better once you unlock more unique moves. You can also play with your friends, but make sure to choose the same pact at the beginning of the game so you guys can do quests together. If you do not choose the same pact, you guys will not appear in the same village to play together and will have to wait until "Dungeons" is unlocked. Please note there is a minimum level requirement to play together for the dungeons. The server for ESO is also not very good at the moment. You may be kicked for no reason at times. There's only one thing I really liked about the game and that is the fact that you can trade pretty much anything among your friends and other online players. Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited failed to deliver, in my opinion. Compared to so many other games out there at the moment, putting in all this effort and time into ESO just isn't worth it.

i have always loved the elder scrolls series. What's great about it from the very start is if you had a character from the pc version, you can import it. The game itself is very entertaining. I get lost in the story and end up staying up until 4am playing. The concept is good but the only thing I dislike about it is the voice chat. When you mute voice chat, it is not permanent. If you leave a session, it will turn back on if you go to a separate are. Rather annoying if you ask me. Other than that, it's an amazing game and I highly recommend it.

Game is fun and entertaining. Good mix of MMORPG and Elder Scrolls. Replay factor is there. Lots of grinding and looting. Cant beat no monthly fees either now! Still has some items that are paid store purchases only but they are not necessary in the least. might just help speed things along if you don't want to go out and grind for gold and itmes.
