This game pwns!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was waiting for this game for what seamed like forever. When it finally came out I got it, I've been addicted to this game. It builds on everything Oblivion was lacking. The graphics are great for the size of the game. The load times are a bit long, there are so many quests its not even funny. I finnish one quest and somehow I have two more then I started. The charicters actually look good, not like funny looking virsions of the same thing. Yea there are a few glitch's in the game but a game this size having a few does is exceptable...nothings perfict.

Amazing Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Elder Scrolls game never cease to amaze; the content, graphics and audio will keep you playing for 100+ hours easily. Given the vast and open world to explore, and hundreds of items to collect it is no surprise that the Elder Scrolls game's do so well. The only downsides are the occasional glitches and sometimes the game-play can get a bit tedious for certain tasks. The skill menus are a big step up from oblivion; no more jumping around just to level agility, each skill feels useful this time around.

Great game, bad lag
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game itself is excellent with a very open storyline and multiple ways of playing, but the lag can make things very tedious towards the end of the storyline - wait for the next patch before committing.

Awsome in small incriments
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great, fun game with graphics that make you feel like your there, and that is its downfall. it is so reallistic that the ps3 cant keep up with it. and bethesda has not attempted to fix the problem. and it also freezes periodiclly. but other than that, it is a fun game to play

One of the best open world games made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a truly amazing experience, the gameplay and story are both great. Leveling up your character is easy and smart. There is always something to do in this game. The music in this game is also something great. Greatest Game Ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have put around 55 hours into this game and it is completely amazing. I have only done about 1/3 of the main story line and still having many many side quest to do. So you get your money's worth out of this game unlike other games where you beat it in 8 to 12 hours. Also I updated the game and it worked just fine for me. Didn't have a single problem with updating.

It is a really fun game; but
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is really fun to play but after playing it for a while now the game stutters and stops a very common problem with this game so I have read, it is now unplable because of the jittering and stopping.

Phenomenal Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While PS3 owners (myself included) can often get frustrated with the lag time, Skyrim is nevertheless a masterpiece in game making. Yes, as some reviewers have stated, the PS3 version isn't without its faults. However, this shouldn't deter the buyer from purchasing this amazing game. From the epic battles against dragons to the always entertaining side quests, Skyrim offers so many options to keep even the most hardcore of gamers entertained for hours on end. Enormous amounts of detail go into every aspect of the game, which makes the gameplay amazing. Whether you're a casual gamer or one who prefers to play for days at a time, Skyrim truly has something for everyone.

Needs Improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It could have been so much more with attention to just a few more details. I'm really disappointed in the combat sequences... its very elementary. Combine that with all the glitchy/laggy behavior that's being reported and an epic game is forced to shrink back into the mass of games that are just average... Still, I have such a hard time putting it down, which is a testament to the potential of this game. Story lines are very immersing, character and plot development are great. There's enough variety to keep you busy for a long time... But at the end of the day, I just can't make myself rate this game any higher than a 7. Too bad, it really could have been a perfect 10 for its genre. For what its worth, I plan on selling my ps3 copy and getting the xbox version. research suggests its the better overall copy.

Stick with it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely hated this game when I first started playing it, so much so I put it on shelf and didn't go back to it for weeks. The map and navigation are very muddled. But so many people on friend's list were playing it and telling me how great it was, all evidence to the contrary I pulled it out and played a little more, and a little more and it does start to grow on you. I still think they could improve the HUD, but the free flow of the game and not having to follow a set story path is a great feature. Plus killing your first dragon is a good feeling. So if you hate it at first keep at it, you will likely grow to like it.

Simply a blast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love role-playing games and have always enjoyed the play style of the elder scrolls franchise. But there's something different about Skyrim. The others weren't as intriguing as Skyrim has been for some reason. In other role-playing games, you have the option to dedicate a lot of time to side-quests, but the quests are almost never as satisfying as the main plot. Skyrim is totally different. The side-quests always feel as important as the main plot. I've dedicated over 30 hours of gameplay to almost nothing but side-quests and still have a TON of side-quests to do. The side-quests are fun and rewarding. And of course the main plot is good too. Good graphics, awesome soundtrack, excellent gameplay. If you like rpgs, you'll love Skyrim. Considering how much game-time you can get out of this game, the price is a bargain.

Simply Amazing Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this game up day 1, and I played it for well over 100 hours. At that point, I began running into the problems many people had and my game was slowing down, freezing, etc. However, they recently put out a patch that fixes most, if not all of those problems. So overall, I would highly recommend this game. The open world, the music, all the side quests, everything about this game is amazing.

Could be great except for glitches
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good and interesting game. Good change of pace if you are used to FPS. However, glitches and load times are very annoying and take away from the overall experience. Overall, a good game, but not nearly as good as Witcher 2.

OUTSTANDING Despite its faults
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the game on 11/11/11 from preorder through Best Buy and they delivered on time. Thanks BB. The game is ADDICTIVE and I mean that. If you like RPG Freestyle games this is the best. Although the story line follows Bethesda's Oblivion world the gameplay is more reminiscent of Fallout 3 and has many of the same similarities (look & feel) as well as faults that Bethesda is becoming famous for; (Quests that fail, buggy long term play, repetitive NPC vocabulary and a general messiness that occurs over time - such as food stall items falling off tables and staying around forever, and of course the occasional lockup requiring a system reboot.) However; all of that can be forgiven, (if Bethesda fixes the quests eventually), because the game is so huge. There are hundreds of dungeon delving opportunities and each one is different from the last unlike the often repetitive nature of Oblivion's dungeons. This makes sense since one developer did all the dungeons in Oblivion but a team did Skyrim's and the imaginative reflection of many talents shows (Kudo's to the team!!!). The sound and visuals sets the "feel" of the dungeon and may change on a moments notice as most of the larger ones are layered as you work your way through different types of bad-guys. The music alone is worth the asking price and the theme song is quite addictive in its own right. And of course, there are Dragons to slay. Lots of them. You can tell that Bethesda has listened to the fans of Oblivion and Fallout and are using the newest technologies available to expand their games. This is not a game for young children though. Mature audiences only.

One of the best games of all-time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is easily one of the greatest ever made. For the PS3, only Uncharted 3 rivals its value. I have put in around 30~ hours and have been relatively surprised by how well it has performed. For a game thats detail goes down to the dirt at your feet, I have only seen one instance of freezing and a couple lags. Do not hesitate to buy this game, unless you are worried about productivity. It is so good, you will undoubtedly be thinking about it in class or at work and staying up late into the night and likely early morning discovering new places and taking on new quests. The amount of content is staggering, and you will be inclined to make multiple characters to try out different skills and combat types. This game is a must-buy for any type of gamer.

Good for a RPG game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is pretty fun and is sometimes challenging, but it gets quite glitchy and freezes up even though it is still fairly new. The game itself is quite great, the graphics in it are superb and there is never a time when your not doing something! It is definitely a game to get if your a fan of RPG adventure games.

Best game out there
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A Best Buy sales guy mentioned it out of the blue. I took a risk, having never played this type of game, and am I ever glad. I got the platinum on easy and 100+ hours with the guide. It was the learning curve that proved to be the challenge to the end for me. Great fun! This has got to be the best game any type of gamer could play.

Addictive game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a fun game with seemingly endless gameplay. I have played for several days and still have barely scratched the surface. Several main quests along with miscellaneous quests to keep you coming back for more. The only complaint I have is I wish I could carry more...I'm constantly overencumbered. That's just the way I play though. It's nice that you can get companions to help you defeat the enemies plus they can carry some of your stuff. Overall a great game.
