    Once again, Bethesda.

I am very dedicated to gaming, more specifically Xbox and PC, and if you are looking to buy this game, great that you are reading this, because the only thing I can tell you is, that this game will be awesome, I have not seen any trailer, only screenshots, I have not yet read anything about the story yet, at all, but with a purpose, I know Bethesda, and their games. Morrowind and Oblivion (plus Shivering Isles) were perfect games, in all aspects, and I can tell you, The Elder Scrolls has no rivals, you might say Mass Effect, but not at all, it isn't that much compared to TES, Bethesda is going to bring us their finest this time, this is a Halo gamer talking, Skyrim will be for sure, the game of the year. Why 4 stars in CHALLENGE? Because you can ALWAYS change the difficulty to easy, that's why.

this game is amazing, its good for the first time player because it has different difficulty setings ranging from beginer to master. Overall it never gets boaring, the story line is long, but you can stop there and do what ever you want (like a free-roam game). then pickup where you left off. there is so much to do, like mastering different skills, such as, pick pocketing and sneeking (stelth) and various types of magic. hunting is also a thing to do and you can sell what you get from the animals. Or if you like exploring you can, because the map is HUGE, you can find doungens that are filled with all sorts of creapy things. THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE

    Great Game

These games have always been great so its hard to say it is better than the others. But Graphics are great and so is game play. Finally you do not have to pick a class. All skills level up equally fast through use or training-no more major and minor skills. You can dual wield spells and weapons and you can do cool finishing moves. Potion making has you creating them at alchemy tables located in some shops and elsewhere. Crafting items is pretty simple. You can learn early in the game from a blacksmith in White hall that is just inside the city main gate on the right. Make your own swords, armor, and jewelry using blocks of gold, steel, iron and other exotic materials.

    Just one warning...

This game is absolutely fantastic, and I haven't even played it yet. It's almost hard to believe this game is almost here, seeing as how the last Elder Scrolls was released in '06. The reason why people get so up in arms about this series is because of the history. Bethesda made their first Elder Scrolls in the 1990s, and it was a huge hit. While it was quite buggy, all games pretty much were at the time(except Bungie's Marathon, which was the first online game to have voice chat.) My absolute favorite Elder Scrolls game would have to be Morrowind, simply because the glitches in that game made it that much better. See, in all Elder Scrolls games, you have the option of being able to make your own spells.(Generally, this becomes available much later in the game.) However, the stronger the spell is the more gold you have to pay to create it, and you have to have enough mana to cast it. In Morrowind, you were able, with glitches, to get as much gold, health, mana, or any kind of stat you wanted. At one point, I created a spell that made me levitate and increased my speed by like 1000. I was flying across the map so fast the game couldn't load the textures fast enough for me to reach them. It was so awesome, but at that point you can't play the game anymore. If you had reached land, you would either die of impact or you'd run so fast you'd just be in the air again. My only warning for this game is this: While it's very easy to learn, if you were buying this for someone as their first game, they will not appreciate it like avid gamers, simply because they have to learn about video games themselves while having to learn about a whole new world called Tamriel while doing so. it can be a bit much for a first time gamer. Not to say that this game is insanely difficult, but you can make it that way if you felt so obliged. There's always a difficulty bar in the game options menu, you can turn it to very easy, which makes NPCs health lower tremendously and are very easy to kill. Or you can make it nearly impossible, which is pretty much impossible. NPCs have so much health you'd have to be knocking at them for 10 minutes to kill a heavy armored guard. Also, this series has had, easily, the most replay value of any game I've ever played(Except World of Warcraft, for obvious reasons), multiplayer or not. I'm not saying you won't get bored of it, as it is human nature to get bored of things. But with 300+ hours of gameplay, there's a lot to go back to. Hell, it's 2011 and I haven't done nearly everything in Oblivion OR Morrowind. These are timeless games, ones you'll tell your kids about.

I had never actually played an Elder Scrolls game until now and I am so glad and happy with my purchase! This is such a great game! If you are looking for a game worth your money this will no doubt be a great purchase. You can easily spend 100+ hours playing this game and much more if you wanted to. There is a few bugs here in there but none that a too big for me to complain about because overall I love this game. I was a little skeptical about buying this game at first since I have not played an Elder Scrolls game before but I gave this game a shot and I am very impressed. I would definitely recommend this game for the holiday season!

This game is amazing, the graphics, the audio, the storyline (what little I have actually played through...) Bethesda has once again made the perfect way to kill time in an enjoyable manner. though I will tell all the readers use a TV that has 1080p with an HDMI hookup, if you don't have a computer with one use a computer monitor because anything less just doesn't do it justic.

When I heard that Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was coming out in 2011, I was so pumped and every single day since i found out i've been in shock and awe on how complexly great this game will be. If you look at the very best RPG games most of them are made by Bethesda. For instance; All of the Elder Scrolls games since Morrowind have been game of the year, once in 2004 again in 2006 and hopefully again in 2011! Bethesda started working on this game immediately after Oblivion and have taken their sweet time in making this game near FLAWLESS. If you are a Modern Warfare fan and really like their multiplayer than this game is probably not for you, considering there is no multiplayer mode. I have so much faith in this game and if you are interested in buying an amazing game then buy this one! I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! The only advise i have for the h8trs out there, is to go on YouTube and watch all of the videos that have been put out for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim especially the game play ones

Skyrim delivers on it's promises and is a lot of fun. There is just enough challenge to keep you going without getting discouraged. For more realism, and Experienced Gamers, turn the difficulty up to Master and challenge yourself! The Graphics are good, but we are quickly approaching saturation with current Gen Consoles...Would love to see this Game on a High End Gaming PC, I am sure it is breathtaking!

I was in line for an hour waiting for this game, and it does not disappoint. Even on the 360, the graphics are amazing. The fact you can smith your own armor and weapons just amazes me. Nothing like doing the work and making your own legendary set of dragonscale or dragon bone, or crafting ebony greatswords or daedric daggers (if you find the hearts for it). Overall, this game has stunned me from the start. The level up system is very differnt from the last games, but it makes it more fun to customize you character more to be what you want. If you haven't tried any of the Elder Scrolls games, then you should really get on it. Can't go wrong with open world RPG and dragons.

When this game came out, I had just finished playing Oblivion (the prequel). The graphics on Oblivion were great but playing Skyrim is like playing something entirely different! The graphics are awesome, the sound aligns well with the characters/creatures, and it runs so much smoother than the prequels. This game is excellent on the XBOX 360, I wouldn't play it on any other system. The challenges and goals in the game help you level up and make you stronger. It's not for everyone though. Young children should avoid this game due to gore and violence plus the plot is hard for a kid to understand. People who are sensitive to graphics and lighting should only play this in 30 minute increments at the most.

Simply the best game ever made!! I'm normaly a MW3 or Battlefield person but this game grabbed ahold of me from the beginning and has not let go. Hours of in depth story line and fantastic graphics. I can't get enough!!! This game has a spectacular quest plot along with all the side quests that you can choose to partake in or not. That's the best part I think is all of the decisions that effect the out come. It has something for everyone!!!

One of the best games out there

In November of 2011, my friends purchased this game. For the next few weeks, all I heard was "Dude, have you done this quest?" or "Hey, what armor are you wearing?" Then, my best friend got it for Christmas. He told me that he would stay up late playing this game, because it is just so great. Finally, I bought this game. I now understand why my friends were so engrossed in it. The plot, while fairly straightforward, is very non-linear. You may explore the world of Skyrim without fear of having to go back and do that one quest first, or have to receive that one item. You can go around and conquer caves, defeat dragons, and slay monsters all you want (in addition to leveling up and filling out the ridiculously developed skill tree). The one problem I've had is occasional lag, but this decreased when I installed the game to my X-Box's hard drive. In short, this game is AMAZING, and is a must buy.

    Dragons, enough said.

For fans of elder scrolls, or even fallout, this game will come to you as a no brainer. The gameplay and graphics have undergone a huge overhaul, still not up to par with some newer games, it at times can be looked at as art though. You will look out into a night sky and beautiful mountains, or climb a mountain against a snow storm. Gameplay wise, it has defintely been more fine tuned. Lock picking takes it's cues from fallout as opposed to oblivion which had a not so great system. In this game buying a house in a city has become much easier to obtain early on so you can store your extra junk you don't want to sell. Character animations have become more fluid as well. Probably the coolest and most annoying aspect of the game is the dragons. The are like mini cutscenes. You know when they show up due to the earth shaking, and music. Not to mention npcs, including creatures will gang up on the dragons. The annoying part is the dragons are often easy to kill compared to smaller creatures you fight, and they show up at the worst of times.Like during a sneaking mission to steal something. all in all this is the best elderscrolls game to date. so defintely worth picking up if you want a game that will last forever.

    The best RPG ever created

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

To say Skyrim is the best RPG ever created is a bold statement in a genre filled with so many amazing titles. From the original Pool of Radiance, to Baulder's Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, and Fall Out (just to name a few) I have never played a RPG as beautiful, immersive, and as fun as Skyrim. With well over 100 hrs of game play, fun and exciting side quests, a great main story line, and a massively open-ended world to explore, Skyrim is guaranteed to put a major dent in your social life for weeks to come. Bethesda has improved on nearly every short coming of Oblivion. The characters and graphics are more realistic with a world where you can almost taste the dirt and grime. The process of character creation and leveling has been improved drastically. The crafting / alchemy system has also been revamped to allow for a substantially more fun experience (you can now also forge your own weapons and armor)! There is a much greater variety of weapons, armor, and miscellaneous items EACH beautifully rendered in stunning detail. There is also much more variety in textures eliminating the "every fort and dungeon looks the same". Your characters (and horses) now "stick" to the ground instead of floating / flying. The sound effects and sound track are awesome. I could go on and on over the awesomeness of this game and the huge improvements in brings to the Elder Scrolls series. However, there are a few cons as well. On the Xbox, loading times can be very long (on the PC they are nearly instantaneous). The graphics on the Xbox is also noticeably lower then the PC version. However, the game's interface and control is obviously designed for a console's controller and thus can be a little burdensome with a keyboard (luckily you can buy an Xbox like controller for the PC if you wish). Like any huge and complex game there are bugs to be worked out, some graphical anomalies, and a buggy companion path finding algorithm. Aside from the load times of the Xbox version, nothing close to being a deal breaker. In conclusion, if you like RPGs this is a MUST HAVE game.

This game is absolutely amazing, I have had it for about a month and have played it at least 150 hours and am still finding new things to do. I haven't completed the primary story line due to the fact that there is so much in the world that this game envelopes you in to keep you away from the main story. You can join an assassins guild, work for god-princes of the realm of oblivion, or just murder everyone you meet (I just murder everyone.)

This game is just like Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and so much more. The graphics have improved significantly and the sound effects make this world amazingly realistic. This is one game that you can invest hundred of hours in just exploring the world of Skyrim and with so many different character choices or decisions/paths to choose from, this game seems almost impossible to complete without investing months of play time. Plus, the story line is very interesting as there are multiple plot points which can change the dynamic of the story. This game can also be addicting and it is hard to find a stopping point as the more you play the more you get immersed in the world of Skyrim. While all this is very good for the game and it does almost deserve game of the year, it is plagued by a few glitches that has annoyed me from time to time. However, with updates from Xbox live, hopefully these issues will be fixed with software patches.

Simply, what RPG's are supposed to be

What can I say that hasn't been said. It's the game of the year; game of the decade. Game of my life. I am in my 40's and an original D+D nerd from the first generation of the game. When RPG video games came out, this is what I always hoped they would eventually be like. The world is massive, detailed, and unique. Walking across the territory you will not see any pre-rendered backgrounds, the detail put in this game, just for background and ambient sounds, is amazing. I highly recommend getting a set of Turtle Beach x41 headphones. The 7.1 surround makes the game so much more life like; from birds and bugs chirping in the background to the sound of a dragon flying low overhead from behind. I am going back and starting over again from the beginning because I got the headset after I was already at level 30. If I have any critisizm for Bethesda with this game, it is that the art is so blatanlty a rip off from the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, but whatever, that was an amazing story as well. If you have a casual interest in RPG's you will love this game. IF you love RPG's and the D+D world, you will be losing a lot of sleep over this game.
