    Coda to a career

Unfortunately, Pink Floyd already has a song named "Echos", becuase that would be a perfect name for this album. This album is a mostly instrumental tribute to Rick Wright and he features prominently on this album, but this album is much more than a reoworked batch of outtakes from the Division Bell. This album has the ebb and flow and the bluesy and jazzy grooves of all the great Floyd albums. This is an album, meant to be listened to from start to finish, and while it features little touches of past, it stands out a great ending to the greatest career in rock.

A Fitting Tribute To Richard Wright

The Endless River has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 Division Bell sessions, when David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason played freely together at Britannia Row and Astoria studios. This was the first time they had done so since the Wish You Were Here sessions in the seventies. In 2013 David Gilmour and Nick Mason revisited the music from those sessions and decided that the tracks should be made available as part of the Pink Floyd repertoire. If you liked "The Division Bell", you will like this album. If you like the sound of Gilmour's guitar, you will like this album. If you liked the music on "The Division Bell", but were disappointed by the lyrics, (as I was) you will love the fact that most of these songs are instrumentals.

You an pop this CD in to a player and instantly realize who you are listening to. I have seen other reviews that complain about the very minimal vocals. Some say that is the way Floyd historically has operated, but that is not really true in the last 30 years. A lot of instrumental for sure, but definitely more than one song on the past several records that have lyrics. That's the only reason I went 4 stars.

This is mostly music from the Division Bell sessions, built out and updated by David Gilmour and Nick Mason. It's also mostly instrumental, which had me hesitate in buying it, but it's really a very good CD. I'm only sorry that there won't be a tour, with or without Roger Waters, to support the CD. One of the best bands ever to see live.

Nothing amazing about this Floyd album, but nothing terrible either. Great, easy listening/background music that will grow on you over time. The second time you hear it, it sounds better than the first and so on, until eventually you end up loving it. Supposedly their Last album, so worth adding to your Pink Floyd collection.

I have been a huge Floyd fan since the late 70's and like almost all of their twists and turns over the years. This is a very good instrumental album, but since most of it was recorded in the 90's it does sound slightly dated. However, if you are a true Floyd fan don't let that stop you from making the purchase.

AS being billed as the last true Pink Floyd music its nice that its different but strange they didn't go out big. I know death in the Floyd family was a major reason the music puts you in a quiet place.IT has a very calming feeling listening to the disc but your mind travels back to the old days!!

This album is for Pink Floyd fans that like their deeper, pre-80's music ... in particular those who like their Pre-" Dark Side " stuff. This album is mostly instrumental " Ambient " music except for the last song. So put on your headphones and enjoy the journey !

I didn't even know this album existed till I saw it on the web site. It contains a really nice mix of tracks. Some appear to be versions of songs they didn't didn't select and kept improving. Other tracks are just nice jams you'd expect from Pink Floyd. NOTE: Although the album notes reference Sides 1 through 4, there is only ONE CD. I have not timed it to see if its the equivalent of two vinyl albums.

this album is predominantly instrumental, with songs threading together seamlessly. if you are a fan of vocal tracks, you'll likely be disappointed, but the music is solid, and arguably a must for hard core Pink Floyd fans.

Pink Floyd's The Endless River is not much on actual sung words except for the last track on this album. However, the atmospheric and spacey sounds of this classic rock band provide excellent soothing and relaxing background music for everyday listening. These sounds culminate at album's end with perhaps Pink Floyd's final song release, "Louder Than Words". Relax and Enjoy it!

The music (guitar work, especially) is beautiful. The singing is not as good as their classic work in the 80s. But still good for the Pink Floyd lover out there who needs all their music.

Good music for road trips & telescope viewing. Can hear pieces of the older Pink Floyd in the new music which was a plus for my husband & myself. A really big surprise for my husband.

Fitting music to accompany the band as it dissipates into the ether. Pink Floyd is probably my favorite band of all time. But all good things must come to an end.

A long time in the waiting but the album sounds a lot like the old Pink Floyd when Roger Waters and David Gilmore where still together. It's really nice to hear some new Pink Floyd for a change. I liked it well enough to give a another to a Pink Floyd fan who's a friend mine for Christmas.

Soothing Tribute Album Sooths the Soul

A tribute to Wright's memory from Gilmour and Mason, this mostly instrumental album lulls and sways with classic Pink Floyd arrangements and melodies. This isn't ground-breaking; but at times it's both uplifting and almost heart-breaking as they say goodbye to an old friend.

If you like the Floyd's instrumentals, this stuff will fill the bill. Drop something and go sit in a corner. This will twist your head just fine.
