Nice summation.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had some advance notice that the latest (and probably final) album from Pink Floyd had 'droppings' from Rick Wright's efforts from the 1994 album "The Division Bell" and again did not feature Roger Waters (even though the thaw between him and David Gilmour had subsided of late). As such, I had little expectations yet wanted to buy this CD to see what it offered. I found this album to be mellow, yet again mind-drifting as many of their albums have provided over the years, as all the songs on "The Endless River" are instrumental except for the finale and the 'Talkin' Hawking song featuring the unique voice there-in. I found this album to have some really nice chord progressions worthy of Pink Floyd's final effort while giving praise to its deceased member Wright, and his final efforts, while bringing some music whose style was reminiscent of some of their earliest work from the days of "UmmaGumma". That was nice to listen to. Is it a great album? No, however it is a good album that does seem to go full circle and back to some of their earliest work while providing some new sounds that keep that mind-drifting abilities that so many Pink Floyd songs and albums induce. 3 stars out of 5, and thanks to that entire band (Waters and Barrett included) for some great music these past 40+ years.

Underwhelmed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really looking forward to this one. After my first listen, I did not have the desire to listen to it again right away. After so many outstanding Pink Floyd releases over the years, I don't think this is a fitting finale. As I listen while writing this review,it reminds me of a Pink Floyd outtakes album. My apologies to the purists out there, but I guess this just shows you that it is time for PF to hang it up.

Worthwhile for fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though this is composed largely of outtakes from the early 90s, it works as a cohesive, instrumental Floyd album. It's pleasant to listen to, and for me even evoked "Wish You Were Here" in places. The weakest track is the vocal number at the end of the album. I don't know if I could recommend it to a new listener, but if you're a fan of the band, it's a decent send-off, and not just a desperate money-grab.

only true floyd friends will appreciate this CD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this CD because I have all the past ones, and felt it must be a must. I don't believe it will stand the test of time as purchasable. Sad to think this is their last piece of work. Very glad to see Australian Pink Floyd and Brit Floyd showcasing their work. Both take the Floyd experience to a new level.

As Good As Could Be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gilmour and company do a good job of putting together enough leftover pieces to give us one last quality Floyd recording. It is not Dark Side or Wish U Were Here but it's as good as could be. Relaxing music with a Floyd touch. Makes you want to break out the older ones and dig in. Well worth the investment. Not much real music out there anymore...

excellent music ,but only instrumental
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pink Floyd has come out with a beautiful cd of old unreleased songs, most of them composed by Rick Wright. He was the late keyboard player behind Pink Floyds music. The cd has a wonderful collection of songs, but not much on vocals.Fans will still wants this cd for their collection.

Excellent!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Typical Pink Floyd...Top Notch! Many people aren't happy with this because of the way it came together. I'm not part of the band, I'm not the producer or manager, I'm just a fan. I respect what the intent of this project was, and I love it. Even though there's hardly any vocals, you can imagine David Gilmour chiming in at any moment. When listening to it, I find out it's over before I know it and start it over. It's a must have!

Relaxing music
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the Pink Floyd music. I appreciate this tribute album. It is a good CD with excellent sound quality but this album did not meet all my expectations. Not sure if I'm being contradictory. My overall rating is good, must to have.

Ok CD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son & I were a little disappointed with this Pink Floyd CD. It is strictly an instrumental CD, there is only one song that has lyrics to it. If you like instrumental, it is good, but not what we were expecting for Pink Floyd's last CD.

Very disapointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pumped when I got the album as I have been a Pink Floyd fan for 35 years. The Wall was a soundtrack to my teenage years and and the other releases from the 70s are all clasics. Even with Roger Waters departure both Lapse of Reason and Division Bell were excellent. Saw them in the Dome in the late 80s and they were fantastic. Honestly this album just seemed like outakes. Stuff thrown together that was not good enough to make there prior albums. And only 1 vocal track which was ok but I expected much more. I will miss them but younger fans would be better off getting anything other than this one. Average at best and Pink Floyd was anything but average.

Wish you were here to Animals just love em all. The only thing lacking is vocals except the last track every thing is instrumental. Thats why 4 Stars.
