I'm a casual gamer. This game has awesome graphics, difficult to challenging game play. Really gruesome death scenes. Lots of zombies and very little amo. Not for the young or beginner in my opinion.

I went in thinking this would be something more akin to the Resident Evil 4. The first thing that killed it for me was the letter boxing of the screen. My screen is already 16:9 and I lost another 2 inches on the top and bottom. Since this isn't a movie, I can't figure out the reasoning behind this. It also made some of the gameplay very difficult since I couldn't see much with the reduced screen size. Also the gore was too much for me... I like zombie games and don't mind some blood, etc... but this game felt like they were adding gory sadistic moments just for the sake of shock value. Lastly the problem for we was the story. I thought this was a cop saves the day from a violent outbreak of some-kind. Rather it was a strange psychological horror fest. It was hard to tell what was real and what was a dream/mental breakdown (think indigo prophecy strange with much more blood). Others have given this game much higher scores and maybe it deserves them. I should have done more research before purchasing it. I just heard it was being made by the same guy who did Resident Evil 4 and picked it up when I saw it in store. So is it a good game... I think it depends on your expectations going in. For me sadly, not my cup of tea but please go look at some other professional reviews and gameplay video clips so you can decide for yourself before you buy.

was expecting a resident evil style horror but was blown away by the differences. i jumped a lot at this game and at times it really frustrated me which is good for a survival horror. good purchase

Good graphics, Good story and i love zombies.!!!!!

Its a great game..do not play in the dark, do not play alone and do not scream like a girl...ok do the last one it is good for your soul. Good graphics good sound...you will enjoy it...or else.

It has been a while since I played an old school survivor horror. I would say this game is a mix between resident evil 4 and the last of us. Early on you will see where they borrowed some elements from the last of us. The voice acting is a little odd at times, some characters sound great and right off the bat, you will hear a character that sounds like he came right out of and old school resident evil game. The game is fun and challenging, and highly recommend.

Lots of fun and was a welcome change to the usual fps and sandbox games I usually play. Something different that is well done. I'd recommend to fans of scary movies and such .

Love the fact that it makes u think. Scary fun challenging all in one game. I bought two on two different systems just so I was able to give the game as a gift. The creatures in the game get harder as the game progresses. Hiding no longer become an option. Nothing more to say other than get it

The Evil Within is an original game developed by the same people who made the iconic Resident Evil 4, and it shows. Certain enemies are strangely similar to those in RE4, some puzzles feel like they belong in RE4, and even the whole game could have been labeled Resident Evil. The Evil WIthin is a game that horror fans should play, but be warned that this game isn't polished. There is major screen tear, frame rate drops, enemies not spawning that hinders progression, and even game crashes. I have no doubt these are fixable in future updates, but The Evil WIthin is still worthy of playing for those horror fans who want a new story.

Comin from just playing last of us remastered, this game is pretty good. Not as good as last of us, I give that game 5 stars. This title has more of the scare factor tho.

I am about two hours into this game, and it is really very creepy. The gameplay is fun, and the game is somewhat challenging at first. I am liking it a lot so far.

So far i'm really liking this game. It has a RE4 vibe to it which is no surprise. The action and pacing is good. The horror elements are nice and the gameplay is great.

The controls are whacky but overall this is decent once you get into the meat of the game. New game + (with some goodies) guarantees another play through.

A nice return to the old school survival horror genre. Really tense and tons of jump scares. Full recommendation to anyone who likes survival horror games.

I found The Evil Within was quite challenging and a game that had me on the edge of my seat. Around every corner was death. This is a must have game!

If your looking for a game to keep you on your toes, scare you at any given time, then this game is for you. Gore and horror survival game!

I was a huge Resident Evil 4 fan so I had to pick up this game. I was disappointed that there is letterboxing that removes 1/3 of your screen. The controls are awkward but the atmosphere and graphics are very good. Must have for survival horror fans since there is very little to pick from on PS4.

The Evil Within is a true return to form. Not just for Shinji Mikami, but for the whole survival horror genre this is a great title. Anyone that grew up with games like Resident Evil or Silent Hill will be enjoying this game to the fullest.

Really good game if you like spooky stuff kind of hard at times have to give it a break . Will get back on as soon as I find some cheats ;)

I've been playing this game in between Arkham Knight. I have to say, it's a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It's not very scary, but the action keeps you on the edge of your seat, especially the chase and sneaking sequences.
