This game is difficult. It also takes a tone of storage to even load let alone play and save.

I was happy when I got the game but it ended shortly after. It just seemed repetitive and I lost interest. I've moved on.

Look like it would be really good to play, but the controls are worthless they don't control the man when he's moving. He runs in the wall and stuff like that. Useless.

This game tests your skills to the max, so don't expect an easy run-through of this game. It has some good combat, great atmosphere and an intriguing story that will keep you pressing on. The graphics are surprisingly detailed and incredible for the 360 version. After the downfalls of Silent Hill and Resident Evil this is a spot-on perfecter to the survival horror series and a must buy!

In an industry filled with checkpoints, hallways, and linear paths, The Evil Within is a breath of fresh air. Always tense, always challenging, it gives off a familiar scent that which hasn't been felt since Dark Souls. Item Management is the name of the game. You can't rely solely on firepower and brute force to make it through this game. It constantly challenges you to make the right call. Stealth kills, crafting, hiding, gunplay. All tools given to you, and it's up to you to find the best path. If you are coming here for a heart wrenching story, this isn't for you. The story and characters are sub par at best, but the tight gameplay and dreadful atmosphere will keep you playing. Pick this game up if you are a fan of horror or a challenge. Skip if you are squeamish.

I got this for my wife because she wanted a scary game to play. This fits the bill. She finds it challenging because she's not sure what she's supposed to do. This leads to some frustration but she enjoys it when she finally figures it out. When she gets really stuck, there are YouTube walkthroughs that helps her get unstuck.

I was a big fan of all the Resident Evil games from years ago. Hearing that this game was created by the mastermind behind those games and seeing all the hype online about Evil Within made it a "must preorder" game for me. I couldn't wait to get it open and start playing. Therein lies the first problem. It has to be installed. I think it requires like 7 Gbs of memory so I had to clear some space and it takes forever to download. It took at least an hour honestly. I was so bummed about having to wait. So finally after it's downloaded and I think I can play. I started the game and the first cutscene comes up. The graphics are very washed out and grainy. I know, old school purists will say that it is supposed to look that way. It supposedly adds to the overall feel of the game. Maybe it does for some people but it just looked like really old, bad graphics to me. Then, when the actual game play starts, the movement and weapons usage are slow and clunky. You get to upgrade the speed of the weapon performance as you progress through the game but they never really get fast. The "nightmare world" that you descend into as you are trying to figure out what's happening is, in my opinion, eerily similar to some of the stuff I've seen in Silent Hill games. You have the creepy asylum/hospital and the weird zombielike creatures with an occasional really big baddy that takes longer to kill. You fall into vats of blood and human body parts. The graphics don't improve in any part of the game and overall I just found it to be slow paced and kind of boring after a while. There's nothing new here and certainly nothing terrifying. If you're looking for a really kick butt horror survival game, pick up Alien Isolation instead. For the same price, you get much better graphics and something really new and different.

Resident Evil Creator gives us a whole new meaning of Survival Horror. The Evil Within is like puzzle like Saw survival horror game that will make any gamer or horror fan tremble with fear. 8.5 out of 10

This is a fun horror game to play --- recommend playing at night with the lights off! I would not pay full price for this game however. Either rent it or get it at a discount.

Great game! Got it cheap and was entertained throughout the game

This game is actually pretty scary - which surprised me. I literally jumped out of my seat a few times during. And this game is pretty difficult to advance through. Certainly a challenge.

I was given this game as a gift since my boyfriend knows that I love horror/survival games. When I first popped it in I thought it was just going to be full of jump scares. So wrong, this game has had my pulse racing and my mind already planning my next move.

Bought this last year for my boyfriend. He loved it, and I liked watching him play it. The game has great graphics and was pretty terrifying!

I bought this for me and my son took it! You could hear him yelling! He's 13 so what do you expect! This is his first horror game! Well thought out!

If you are a fan of Resident Evil or Silent Hill this game will be right up your alley.
