Is this the best movie in the world? No; but if you know theme, you know what you are getting. It's a Hollywood /Chinese mix, using Chinese legends to bring the West and East together in defense of China (and the world). It's not perfect, but it is entertaining

I enjoyed the action and "legend" parts of the movie and the visuals. There isn't much you know about Matt's character's background, but you don't really need it. You should know that I love movies and can usually find something I enjoy in most movies I watch...

What I liked about this movie was the beautiful Slip Cover, hahaha. The movie was Ok, good to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Honestly, Matt Damon should pick better roles. I guess this was an easy paycheck for him. Anyways, I'll advise to rent before you buy.

I really enjoy this genre of movie. If you like folklore mixed with sci-fi type movies, this is a great movie. Movie gives a sci-fi reason for constructing the Great Wall of China (forget the Huns). CG is good, action scenes in 4K so fluid and realistic.

i was under the idea of this actually having to do with the history of the Great Wall, but sadly, it is not. I wanted to give it 3.5 stars, but that's not allowed. Excellent costumes and art direction. story was just ok. this ome's a renter, not a keeper.

It was good entertainment. I love the visuals and the vibrant colors. Maybe because I've seen hundreds of movies, I can spot a predictable plot, but it was good. Matt Damon just seemed to call it in. It was the visuals or eye candy that I enjoyed the most.

I purchased this on sale and was not expecting much. For those who enjoy monster movies, this one is above average. The film is very visual with the colorful costumes for the Chinese warriors, and the story was better than expected. Great popcorn movie.

This movie was exactly what you thought it would be. Great visual action sequences combined with simple story line and plot development. It wasted no time diving head first into the action sequences and did a great job of not taking its foot off the gas.

Although I'm not a normal Matt Damon fan aside from his roles in Jason Bourne. He puts a decent enough character portrayal to keep you interested in the story. There's enough action and great CG characters to make even more contributions to the film. Picture quality is good and atmos sound track adds more enveloping surround if you have the ability to use.

While not much of a brainiacs movie, it was fun, and exciting with great special effects. The brouhaha about white Damon as the hero well overblown. He did a good job. Not an excellent movie, but one that will keep your interest and moves right along.

Wasn't interested in watching this based on the earliest reviews. But when this movie was on a deep, deep sale, I purchased it and thought I'd give it a watch. It actually was surprisingly entertaining.

I love these types of movies. The effects are great. I just don't like the plot. It's not believable to have a white guy travelling on that era in China or whichever Asian country it was. They should've casted it with Jet Li or any Asian actor.

This is a not bad Mark Walberg movie about China's Great Wall and one of the reasons it was built to stop a type of invader. Lots of action, nice CGI work, and William Defoe is in it also. So, not to bad for friends over for pizza and beer night.

Read allot of reviews that ripped this movie for using Matt Damen in a movie based in china, but for me it worked. I enjoyed it, but if your a detail stickler it will probably drive you nuts. Still if action is your thing, its worth a watch.

The idea for the story is awesome. The acting, cast, visuals, amazing. My problem is that I wished the story, which is a solid idea, could have been fleshed out much more along with the dialogue. I imagine that if a author got a hold of something like this, they could have done a better job. But when can you ever get that in most movies?

Matt Damon steps away from Jason Borne and does a good job of it. While the movie has no historical relevance, it presents one of the myths surrounding the Great Wall. The cinematography is outstanding and it is a beautiful movie with monsters!

Sometimes you just want to disengage the brain and Enjoy! This movie is one of those times.No deep thought needed.Fun story that moves along at a good pace. AND THE BEST LOOKING CAST EVER.Not a wrinkle to be seen.Great cg.Enjoyed it very much.

This movie is a very good SciFi movie with good acting, good casting, and good choreography. The special effects were compelling, and the story line while fictional was well thought out and well executed. I liked it. I can recommend it.

Bought as a present and haven't been able to watch it yet. Plus I am not a movie critic so I won't try to review the movie. But since cutting cable we buy movies at Best Buy. This was a great price and Best Buy has a price match policy. So its a good place to get movies. I would recommend shopping here for entertainment needs.

Even with Matt Damon, the movie itself isnt what I wanted it to be. Not to say it was bad, but I thought it would go in a different direction. I thought the IDEA of what the movie was based around was great, and original. Building a wall to defend against monsters rather than other humans was an enjoyable concept. I was hoping the movie would go in a more dark direction, rather than the playful movie that it was. The imagery and action scenes (despite how greatly far-fetched) were enjoyable to watch. But I'm a history/prequel kind of guy, and I wish they had dove deeper into the history of the wall then what they did. Maybe they will do a prequel
