This movie was better than the reviews made it look. I liked the visual effects. It would have been better if it had been a little longer. They did stuff the whole first season in, I think, 1hr 45 min.

This movie was pretty good. I have seen the cartoon version and loved that so I figured I should check out the movie as well. I think the movie does a good job of transforming some of the aspects of the series into live action however it does skip over a lot and only showed 1/4th of the series. I would have liked to see more of what happened. If you enjoy the storyline I would definitely recommend watching the animated series. The animated series does do a better job of telling more of the story and gives more character descriptions but this was enjoyable as well.

This movie was amazing!I must have seen a totally different movie than all these other people. Cause I thought it was a very well put together movie. The visual effects where impressive. The acting was spot on. Especially the perfectly casted newcomer Noah Ringer. Some people dislike this movie when compared to the show, and some like it just fine (everyone has an opinion), I happen to be the later. I will watch this movie again and again, and like it just as much every time. Dev Petel was very good as Zuko. The plot changes from the show were to make it into a movie. No one said the movie was going to be a carbon copy of the show. It doesn't have to be. Standing on its own it was excellent. A+!!

I really liked this movie and on Bluray the picture quality and colors are brilliant. Some people did not like it much because it is different than the anime version but so what. Why would you want the exact same movie as the anime? The plot is there. Sakka is not as funny as the amine but Anag and Zucco seemed spot on. Disc special features are pretty cool too.

You should bend over to Best Buy to get thus movie. It's lots of fun to watch. Worth getting, go for it.

I really wanted to like this movie since I really enjoy the genre. My son and I watched together and we admitted it wasn't the best movie, but both of us liked the premise of the story, the characters, etc. that we found that we enjoyed it anyway. I guess I can add this to my list of guilty pleasure videos.

If you've never seen the original cartoons and are picking this movie up for your kids because think they might like it, do both yourself and your children a favor, ignore this film, and go buy the original Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoons. Shyamalan not only failed to cram an extensive amount of material into one film (the entire first season of the show), he also failed to make a film for the fans. He did not remain true to the source material; he changed names, personalities, and even the entire main character's inner conflict that the original show's writers beautifully created, built, and worked out through an entire season. I'd love to put the blame on the actors; nearly all of the cast projects cardboard dialogue and stiff acting. Several of them were huge fans of the original material themselves, so I had high hopes that that enthusiasm would carry through. However, an awful script full of exposition and cheesy dialogue plus a bad director can make even good actors terrible. The only saving graces for this film were the breathtakingly beautiful CGI backgrounds and the film's score. Beyond that, there is nothing worth watching in this movie.

Ordering this on internet and picking it up at the store was a holiday miracle! In and Out in no time. All of the merchandise was available and this DVD was a great deal for the money.

This movie is pretty average for an adult but it is more of a movie for a kid to watch. The beginning is kinda slow but the ending was great lots of action towards the end

This a very colorful and well thought out plot. Reorganization of the planet.

Although the plot was good, the acting was not that great. I still enjoyed watching the movie.

The cartoon was a awesome show but the movie left out the humor of the cartoon and the childhood fun that made the show great. They changed several key aspects of the show and made it veer away from the cartoon. Also the movie had some of the worst acting and way too showy scenes. This movie fell very short of how it should of been. If it had been longer it might have been able to add some key elements to make it better.

I couldn't stand this movie at all. I love the show and everything about it. This movie was garbage. I groaned every time they pronounced aang's name. also, wth was happening with the firebending. did anyone actually watch the show before making this movie?
