Fans of the series will be happy to play this game fully through. I mean, they might not be super happy about certain things that happen but in terms of story telling, witness a masterpiece. I'm astounded at how well a game can look and I'm even more astounded at the small scenes they put in to tell the stories for the characters. I don't want to get too deep about the game without spoiling anything. So I'll end here. Fans won't be disappointed by the game at all.

Well, if you haven't played this yet I certainly hope you get to it before watching the HBO series. Fantastic game from beginning to end. The gameplay is more intuitive and smoother than the first game. The storytelling, narrative, voice-acting, visuals... it's all great. Buy it and play it.

I recently purchased The Last of Us Part II Standard Edition for my PlayStation 4, and I have to say, I am completely blown away by this game! The graphics are absolutely stunning, and the gameplay is incredibly engaging and immersive. The storyline is also one of the best I've ever experienced in a video game. It's emotional, thought-provoking, and keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The character development is superb, and you really feel invested in the fates of the characters as you progress through the game. One of the things that I love most about The Last of Us Part II is the attention to detail that the developers put into every aspect of the game. The world-building is fantastic, and the environments are beautifully rendered with tons of hidden details to discover. Overall, I would highly recommend The Last of Us Part II Standard Edition to any gamer looking for an intense, emotional, and unforgettable gaming experience. This game is truly a masterpiece, and I can't wait to play it again on my PlayStation 5! 5 stars all the way!

Every generation a few games release that are special, games that push the medium of video games forward. This is one of those instances. This is Naughty Dog's best feeling game in terms of gameplay. As far as visuals and presentation, I have never seen a better looking game. The story, while longer than some may expect, is a roller coaster. You will be thinking about this one long after you put the controller down. Naughty Dog has outdone themselves this time.

Naughty Dog dared to craft an even more ambitious follow up to it's universally acclaimed title from 2013. A story that examines different themes about loss, vengeance, and forgiveness has remained on my mind to this day. Paired with its absolutely sublime TPS and stealth mechanics, and the best looking graphics offered on consoles today, Naughty Dog has once again set the standard for Cinematic AAA video games.

When this game came I read a review that said "you will either love it, or you will despise it..." I understand what they meant after playing through. I had to at least say that I put some kind of review up. Please excuse the length and/or spoilers. Pros: The graphics are top notch. I've never played anything so realistic. The gameplay hasn't changed from the first one which is a play for me. I love stealth and TLOU 1/2 really does it right in my opinion. The minor additions like prone are cool too. The story was decent to me but I will talk about that in my cons. Cons: I didn't like what happened to Joel either, but it didn't kill the game for me like it did others. The Abby/Ellie balance was off to me. I felt like I spent too much time playing as Abby. There is too much walking around/cut scenes for my taste. These FEW boring stretches made the game drag some, but I feel that these are story bits that I will revisit when I play again. Conclusion: I enjoyed the game and I am going to play it again (I am NOT selling it). At first I too was upset about certain story elements (Joel), but after reading other reviews I realized that no game is perfect for everyone. Some felt the game was making political statements. Those elements in the story didn't really bother me. Lev's gay? So what? Abby is buffed? So what? It seems like a way smaller deal than people are making it out to be. Is this game as good as the first one? Noooo way... But that is one of my top games of all time, and arguably #1. I give this installment a 4.5, but I am rounding up to 5 because this game and the first are still my favorite two games (and because you can't rate 4.5 here). TLOU 1 = 5, TLOU 2 = 4.5. Yes, I will buy part 3. That's my two cents...

One of the best games of the generation. The gameplay is a more polished, advanced version of the first game. I liked that there were more open areas although it’s certainly not an open world game. The story is well crafted and will cause you to think about it for weeks after. My primary complaint would be that the game felt too long for such a heavy game. It might be good to break it up with something else instead of binging the game.

Such a masterpiece of a game. I think we were all shocked by the first hour but Naughty Dog did a great job overall with the storytelling and gameplay. Combat was phenomenal. If you really give it a chance I’m sure most come to understand the depth and tragedy of the story they are telling.

I love this game! Graphics are bar none the best I've ever seen on a console game. The storyline is immersive, creative, and very realistic which makes playing the characters through it longing for more. The surround sound is also incredible! Sometimes it will scare you when the infected come out of nowhere. Had me jump more than a few times. Especially the stalker infected! I highly recommend this game if you single player survival-horror games!

Awesome game... great story line connecting the last of us .... same game play....clues artifacts...to help you go threw the game..secret codes for gates n safes fir extra bonus items for udgrade skills and weapons.. and once you finish ...all the point's... gathered you can unlock games ..like infinite ammo,one shot one kill and touch of death..etc...great ride playing duel characters sides.....

I’ve been waiting for this game for what feels like forever and had high expectations. I was very worried that this game wouldn’t meet those expectations, but i’d say it exceeded them. The gameplay has been improved upon with new, fun elements, and the story kept me intrigued throughout the entire game. Overall, I loved The Last of Us 2. I wouldn’t call it a perfect sequel but i don’t believe it deserves the hate it’s been receiving online at all.

Great sequel to The Last of Us 1. I do think it has some gratuitous violence that borders on being a bit too uncomfortable for anyone more used to seeing blood and gore in a more horror and humorous setting, but otherwise it is an amazing PS4 title in nearly every way other than the time spent on looting in-game

It's sad that politics has take over every aspects of our lives. We all have different points of view and the easiest and most fair position to take is to understand just that. Naughty Dog was placed on a political side based on some initial leaks. Certainly some internal issue in the development team caused an employee the need to cause some controversy. They, in a way, succeeded. However, many have placed their opinion about this game based on somebody else's opinion, not their own. Many have not given this game a run through the whole story to develop their own opinion. I wanted to still try this game, play the story and come to my own conclusion. After playing it and being a huge fan of the first, I will honestly say I enjoyed this game for what it offered. A difficult story with characters that felt real due to their struggles as humans. Their internal battles that we can all relate to. Like anything in life, you must experience everything for ourselves to develop a sincere opinion about it. I would recommend this game to anyone. Experience it for the story and message it offers. If you loved the first, you will understand the second.

No matter how many people hate the story line of this game. I still think this is the best game I have ever played. The characters, the story, the gameplay and the visuals are the best ever! I have played through this game for 4 times already! Can’t get enough of it!!

Ignore the bad reviews. I have over 40+ hours in the game and it is AMAZING. The graphics are top notch. The story, which may be controversial to some, is amazing. The mechanics and gameplay itself is very smooth. You can see how much love the developers put in the game with such incredible attention to detail. If you're on edge about getting this game because you saw some negative reviews, ignore them completely and pick this game up!

I think if you played the first game, you should play the second game. It may not be a game you like or a game you want to play again, but I think it is important to play. I thought the gameplay, while being very similar to the other game, was very good, but it got a little tedious near the end of the game. This story may make you angry but it will also make you feel for these characters, and you will have to go through a lot of tough things to complete this story. Overall it was a great game with a story that I personally enjoyed with game played that made it fun until near the end of the game

Great story, good action, exhilarating battles and overall good title

Got this primarily for the story and was extremely dissapointed. It's paced so poorly with so many superfluous scenes. It took me 25 hours to finish it and it could have easily been half that length - if this were purely a movie, it wouldn't even need to approach 3 hours. There's a lot of gratuitous violence and the format of the narrative is incredibly judgemental and cynical, which really became a frustration in the second half. As a game, it's fine. The first half is a slog, but around 14 hours in, there is some bare-bones but decent stealth/3rd-person-shooter gameplay. It looks great and runs fine enough on my PS4 Pro, as expected coming from Naughty Dog. I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone and I regret spending my time and money on it.
