I am just bored, all my friends feel the same way. The new characters don't really add value. The plot makes no sense and the old game's ending has been edited in order to make this second game. I think to make it more enjoyable it needs A LOT of quality of life changes asap. For example, using your map in and open world area takes close to 8 seconds to load and open as you need to hold down the middle touch pad on the controller. It is highly annoying to continue to do that when you're notified that a new place of interest is on the map. Another issue is upgrading/ checking for upgrades to your equipment. You have to see the same scene of Ellie removing the bullet from the chamber, taking it apart and putting it on the workbench BEFORE YOU EVEN PICK AN UPGRADE EVERY TIME. Then if you want to cycle through to see what upgrades are available per weapon you have to again, SEE THE SAME CUTSCENE EACH TIME. Once you choose to upgrade the gun, you have to see Ellie upgrade which takes around 20+ seconds. I don't know, it seemed cool in the trailers but its highly annoying in game. The crafting system is weird. You don't really know what makes what like some items take 2 cloth so it'll show up at 2/4 cloth in the diagram but you don't know what does what. This results in a lot of random pressing to figure out what does what. Basically, the plot feels super forced, the characters are all acting irrationally different from the first game, the new characters offer less to the table than Sarah did in the first game. Overall, I hope it gets better at some point but I am too bored to play it. I wouldn't recommend this game for over $30 at all.

I don't think they found a stump they didn't preach on. Just horrible dribbling bs, for hours. And hours, and hours. The worst type of preaching. Now for the bad part. When you get through the preaching, and the ruining of an amazing story, the game play sucks!!!!. Worst combat ever. Just make another Uncharted. Or at least copy the combat action you already have built! They went backwards in terms of game play. Worst naughty dog showing yet. I do give thumbs up to the art, to bad they spoiled it.

NG had 7 years to get the story right and failed. The game play is good, they added some great baddies but the story just didn’t do it fore me. It felt pushed and was dull.

Ok graphics but somewhat boring game, with mechanics from a decade ago. But it really is a letdown storywise with some of the laziest and most complacent writing since GoT season 8 for confused writers with a misplaced-yet-entitled sense of grandeur. If they wanted to deconstruct the story and/or genre there were plenty of better ways to do it. But what did you expect ? Neil Druckmann hired a writer from the show Westworld to help him out, that should tell you everything you need to know.

Graphics? Stunning. Plot? What plot? This game honestly spites the first game in so many ways it's sad. You're honestly better off not playing this one and preserving your memories of the first game.

So the graphics are superb. The controls are good. The character development is ok. The story is woke trash.

They brought things from the first game to make it repeat the success, but it appears they don't even know what made the first game so great, so they took random things thinking what? One of this will work like it did in the first game? I think Amy Henning could write a better story. Oh, but she was let go after the first game...

spoiler alert ahead. As I mentioned, the games graphics are amazing. Also playing as Ellie is fine. However, you also play about half the game as Abby, the man woman who killed Joel. So basically, I play about half the game as a character I hate, but I have to "win" as her character. Then at the end her life is spared by Ellie. Super terrible game and story.

TLOU is one of the greatest games of all time. TLOU2 has stunning graphics, but that’s where the comparisons end. The story is very wonky and seemingly rushed. It’s still an okay game, but it’s simply subpar to the original and nothing special. I’m disappointed that I paid full price! Maybe $25, but not $60! Too bad, I’ve been looking forward to this for months.

If you loved the first game you will hate the sequel. They destroy the charters and do not continue to the plot of the first game. Also the game play in the first game was it's weakest link and they did not make any improvements. It gets one star for its graphics and visuals.

I absolutely loved the first game. One of the best games ever made. However, this sequel is the actual worst game I've ever played. Terrible story and mediocre gameplay. It is way too long, and says almost nothing. Just about every character is unlikable. I can't think of a single redeeming quality about this game.

Story is what The Last of Us was centered around. It was one of my favorite games of all times, unfortunatley in this game, the story is written terribly. Aside from the story everything else the game tried to do, other games do better. It’s just an eh game. This one is not a buy, redbox it, rent it, or watch the story cutscenes online. Maybe pick it up when the price drops and it goes to $19.99 Slim replay ability, if you even want to play through a second time. I didnt. Generic game mechanics and a horrid story. Vote with your wallet and let devs know not to put out a subpar product.

Great graphic and amazing overall work but the story destroyed any like or joy i had for this franchise. Never been this disappointed in a story.

Terrible game but looks great. Fanboys need to accept that the plot is terrible.

The first game was a masterpiece. This one is just a cheap imitation of some old Walking Dead comics. The way the game makes you engage in "mini games" like "playing guitar" is an insult to any gamer with a shred of self-respect. The cutscenes and dialogue are the most cringe inducing I've ever seen in a game. The quality of writing is even worse than you would expect in a daytime soap opera.

As far as I'm concerned, story is absolutely critical, even in a video game. Gameplay and graphics can't save an unsatsifying story.

Game is a major downgrade from the first which was colorful, and stunning. The story has also taken a major hit, and is now painfully boring. Combat hasn’t changed in any meaningful way, and is stagnant. It’s a game made for no one, and you’d be better off just sticking to the PS4 rerelease of The Last of Us while pretending this was non-canon fan fiction.

A terrible experience. IF you absolutley loved the first game, this will put a sour taste in your mouth. They absolutely did not care for the actual fans of this game, but pandered to certain groups and made a terrible story with annoying characters you are forced to play as and disregarded everything that made the first game enjoyable.

Very weak story intertwined with force social justice narratives. Can't understand the positive reviews.
