I was not going to play this game because of all the flak, but glad I got it. It has been much better than I expected and seeing the perspective from both sides has been quite the story. The details of the scenes and graphics on the PS5 are exceptional. Standing under water falling splashes of the character and you get wet. I wont spoil any story, but there have been some amazing parts like visit to museum of Dinosaurs :-) The game deserves a play through.

Last of Us is one of my favorite games of all times. Never thought a game would be able to capture the magic like the first one, but Naughty Dog did just that. Im not going to say its better than the first, but it is just as good to say the least. The pacing is wonderful, it pulls at the heart strings, and enemy encounters are intense. Story is A1. What more could you really want from a game. A must play.

The Last of Us Part II is technically stunning, with some of the best graphics, environments, motion-capture performances, character animations, and set pieces ever constructed for a video game. It builds on and surpasses its predecessor (and the games of the Uncharted series) to an almost absurd degree. I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog is able to achieve technically on the PlayStation 5. It does all of that while telling a much more nuanced and difficult story than is typical for video games, even in other compelling narrative-driven games. The Last of Us Part II doesn't give you the illusion of choice, but it does pull you in and make you complicit in the actions of these characters. When you watch a film, it's possible to maintain a mental distance from the actions characters take. Even for a character you identify or sympathize with you remain a passive observer. You aren't allowed to do that here. You will hate some of the things these characters do, and feel disgusted by their brutality and remorselessness. You will also love the quiet periods in-between and the playful interactions between old friends, and wish those moments could last. This is not a game that wants to satisfy you -- it wants to challenge you. Your reward is the time you spend in its magnificently damaged world and the many ways it makes you feel along its path. Nothing created is perfect, including this game, but to me it is a masterpiece and I will cherish my relationship with it forever.

I went into The Last of Us 2 almost completely blind with next to no expectations on what would happen and had an incredible time. The gameplay from the first game is refined and built upon, giving the player many more options to tackle various situations. The story, although dragging at a few points, kept me interested and caused me to constantly rethink what I wanted in a sequel and what I liked about the first game. Overall, I think that it's an amazing game with a couple rough edges that may cause annoyances, but don't ruin the game in any way.

This game is a masterpiece exploring the consequences that our actions have and the trauma people endure for and with each other. Without spoiling anything the game focuses on Ellie and how her relationship with Joel has changed in the 5 year following the first chapter in the series and it is handled masterfully as both a heartfelt coming of age story as a father figure becomes more understood by our heroine and a dark reminder that our choices define us and we can corrupt ourselves with those choices in pursuit of a goal. The gameplay loop is the most well refined and fast paced stealth gameplay I have experienced. Enemies call out to each other, respond to your actions realistically (no "must've just been the wind" with an arrow in their face), and even have unique tricks up their sleeves depending on their faction, weapon type, and the presence of allies. If you enjoyed the first game then you will assuredly like the new more refined experience as it fixes and tweak many of the issues that were a problem in the previous game (forced combat sections, limited mobility/verticality, and stupid enemy AI). A true defining moment in game story and mechanics. 5/5

If you like the gameplay in the first game, you’ll enjoy this sequel just fine as it improves some of the mechanics while introducing new features (going prone, hiding in the grass, dodging in melee combat). I do feel much of the plot points are for shock value and it suffers a little in that sense. There are plenty of enjoyable sections in the story though along with new characters scattered throughout different chapters. It’s definitely not a bad game by any means because I was still invested into the story and gameplay to continue playing.

A great sequel to an already amazing game. Controls feel just right, and the mood is unsettling. Story is good if you're a somber story. It also gives enough thrills and jumps to keep things entertaining throughout the runtime (which right when you think you're almost done, get ready to strap in for more!)

The first game was one of my favorite games of all time. This game is more of the first and better in almost every way. Initially I wasn't a fan of the way they were taking the story and some decisions that were forced on the player, but by the end I was sold on the developers vision and how I was along for the ride. Truly a masterpiece.

The game is pretty long, pretty good story line just ending sucked

I'll start this review by saying I am not a fan of the survival horror genre at all so I wouldn't normally pick up this game. But it won game of the year and I wanted to see if all the hype was worth it. The graphics are very impressive. The story is phenomenal. Like a revenge driven plot with your favorite characters from the Walking Dead. The gameplay was a little redundant as I find myself doing the same thing frequently. But the story makes up for any shortcomings. Worth it for the price.

I loved the first game for the story and the gameplay. Part II on the other hand I only love for the gameplay. The story is...interesting. I guess I can live with the fact that they killed the main player character, Joel, at the beginning of the game. I wanted Ellie to get her revenge, but for some reason the story decides for Ellie, and by extension to you the player, that revenge isn't worth it. How many people do we already kill and yet somehow Abby is where we stop? On top of it we have to play as Abby so you can ideally gain some empathy for her. The problem is I already know what she did, and I hate her for it. The story is also told in a weird way where you play several days the first have the game as Ellie, and then you start over the same set of days as Abby the last half of the game. I think they wanted to time the story in an artistic way, but it would have been better had it been told concurrently.

The Last of Us Part II is not a feel good game, it is a story of revenge told with gut wrenching impact. In a world of visual beauty, you must choose to sneak past your enemies or visit terrible retribution on them face to face. With masterful voice acting and motion capture performances, the actors and the studio artists have created a masterpiece in difficult and heartrending storytelling.

Phenomenal game from graphics, gameplay, and story. I understand it’s not everybody’s favorite but to me, this game is special to me and feels nostalgic when looking back to the first time I played it in December 2020.

I loved the First Last of Us and this game picks it up a few notches from that game. It has a great story, a major gut punch to start, and looks amazing. I wouldn't say the game is "fun" to play because of the dark nature of the story, but it is very easy to get caught up in the story and relationships of the characters. A great game and can't wait to see where it goes next.

Mixed reviews from many out there but the game itself as masterful and the story arc isn’t surprising. This game ended the way it needed to end in order to leave something for a final sequel. It’s been rumored ever since the last of us 1 that this was at minimum to be a trilogy. All that aside this game is a blast to play and something everyone should enjoy atleast once.

I want to start off saying that I know there’s a lot of people that don’t like this game. And that’s their opinion, but my opinion is that so far (I’m about 25 hours into it) it’s one of the best games I’ve played. The graphics are insane, the gameplay is great, and the story is extremely well done. I’m a massive fan of the game and I recommend it to anyone that played the first one.

Definitely not for the younger kids. There are violent, graphic scenes and sexual content. I enjoyed the storyline and how it made me feel connected to the characters, as did the first game. It has LGBTQ topics as well. If you have issue with that then just don’t play it. The graphics were really great. The only issue I had was with the way the characters move when you play them. It is awkward and feels funky to control. But I felt the same way in with the first game. Overall I think it was worth the purchase and game time.

I though that this game was fantastic. The gameplay was very similar to the first one. I loved the storyline and the graphics are incredible. While other people said that they didn't like the plot, I enjoyed it. All of the cinema scenes were also amazing. Overall I was excited for this game to come out as soon as I heard about it. It did live up to the hype.

I love this game. The first one blew me away with the story 11/10. And this one continues Ellie's tale. The story is almost as good at #1, I would say 9/10. Game play is just as fun 10/10. It's nice to have a great game with out all the DLC.
