I heard nothing but amazing reviews from people that I highly trust with video games. Best game ever they said. And that is coming from someone that has every video game system in existence since the original NES. It's well on it's way there... very hard to start off, as they don't really give you clues as what to do and how to do things (so consult the internet for help!) but it adds to the fun of the open world feel to it. It is also a very challenging game in the sense that you will end up dying a lot in the beginning if you end up trying to take on something that you can't as of yet! Love it!

    My first Zelda game

I have only played a couple hours of Twilight Princess before playing BoTW. So I would consider this my first main Zelda experience. This game is definitely one that you will want to sink in a couple hours at a time when you go to sit down (or take with you on the go) and play. The story is captivating and just the whole experience is overall...relaxing, i"ll say. It's not fast paced, however it could be depending on how you play. You can take your time on the main quest by doing other side missions along the way and just kind of free roaming around looking for shrines. Overall it's been a great experience so far. Can't wait to get further into it!

Amazing Game That Switch Owners Shouldn't Miss

Breath of The Wild is a great change in the Legend of Zelda series, allowing even more exploration and great gameplay. The story is interesting, the world is vast and fun to explore, and the graphics are pretty good (not anything amazing, but the style looks good). With the Switch, this can be easily played on the go and it's easy to pick up and play for however long you want. It works well docked, portable, using the joycons on their own, or using a pro controller. However you play, this game is necessary for anyone that picks up a Switch.

    Hours of Adventure!

This game has kept me occupied for the longest time now! You plunge into this MASSIVE and truly open-world and the game just leaves the possibilities up to you. As a musician, I would have to sum up the music in this game in one word: Smart. The music is both new and a clever tribute to the music of the series past installments. You get enveloped in the beauty of your surroundings. There are so many regions to explore and so many secrets within these regions to uncover! And when you finally make it through the Lost Woods and reach the Master Sword... So. Epic. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is truly a masterpiece geared to provide near-endless hours of adventure!

I've never played a Zelda game before, but after hearing all the hype, I decided to buy this when I saw it went on sale. At first, I felt pretty lost because this was my first open world game. Once I got used to the gameplay though, I was seriously hooked. At first I was confused by how open this game is, but now I appreciate it because it means that there's really no wrong way to play and you can just do whatever you feel like, whether you want to progress through the story, or sit back and enjoy all the game has to offer.

I haven't enjoyed a Zelda game this much since Wind Waker. The story is fantastic, the non-linear story and open world are perfect mechanics for Zelda games. Highly recommended.

What more can you say about this game. It's beautiful, the mechanics are amazing, it's open world, doesn't handhold you, backgrounds are actual locations you can go to, the world is vast, you can climb anything, and the game is fun and rewarding. People have been praising this game with many publications giving near perfect scores, and it earns them. The game isn't perfect, but there's so much here, that it's easy to overlook any issues. This game is more than a system seller, and I can't recommend it enough. Go out and buy your copy.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild is by far my favorite game of all time. It's just so big and beautiful. It has a perfect balance between exploration and story that it encourages you to explore while still doing the main story or side quest. There is always something to do and lots of entertaining things to try. There is always a goal to work towards that will make you stronger. The story is great and the combat is very simple yet complex in a way and very fun. Overall, a masterpiece of a game and my favorite game of all time.

As you've probably heard, this game isn't quite your regular 3D Zelda. Open world, heavy on side quests, with an emphasis on exploration rather than just saving the day as soon as possible. The game has plenty of substance though, people to help, monsters to fight, encyclopedias to fill. And becomes more of a sandbox type of game when fully completed. If you enjoy open world exploration and sandboxes you should give it a go. But if you prefer the more linear and focused formula of older 3D zeldas then you might want to hold off.

I’ve been running around for over 115 hours into the game, and I still haven’t reached the end of Breath of the Wild. Not only is it vast, beautiful, and filled with a diverse set of locations from grassy fields to craggy alpine mountains, but it also has a marvelous story as well. I’ll highly recommend this game since there is so much content, and this was my first Zelda game and it absolutely blew me away with the story. I still got a long way to go for 100% even after getting all 120 shrines within the game!

Simply the best game available on the Switch. They really refined and improved what open world gaming from the competition. You can move at your own pace and explore the world, or beeline straight to the final boss and use your skill to try beat him. Choice is yours. And that is the key - your choice - how you want to play, with the developer not forcing you in either direction. Played almost all the Zelda games, and this one ranks as the at the top for me. Way to reinvent the Zelda formula while staying true to Zelda.

Zelda in an open-world, what about that sentence doesn't make anyone absolutely curious? And let me tell you, this is like playing Skyrim on the go! It's that fun and great! The best part is, Zelda: BotW changes the dynamic of all Open Worlds by giving Link the ability to climb ANY surface. See a mountain? Go climb it to get to the other side! Want to cross that river? Chop a tree and climb over via the trunk. It has amazing internally combinable systems where all natural reactions are possible. A must play and a great game!

This has a been a fun yet tedious Legend of Zelda game. Even though most Zelda games have the same storyline, the expansive map and nature of the game is so breathtaking and takes the game to new heights. (Literally) The graphics look amazing. There has been a lot of exploring to do and it can take forever to reach a destination until you unlock a tower or complete a shrine. The only annoyance I can have with this game are the weapons durability. It's good to avoid enemies at the beginning unless you really like to battle them.

    Arguably the Best Zelda Ever

The game is awesome. Expansive, will keep you busy and entertained for hours and days and weeks. It's not for everyone, though... it diverts from the usual Zelda 'holding your hand' recipe and instead slaps you with freely-roaming, no restricted objectives open world. Impressive and great, but only if you like NOT having to stick to a strict storyline and objective order and tackle the game in any way you see fit. If you've already played on the WiiU, however, and since you can't port your game save over, it's not really worth re-purchasing unless you really loved the game and wouldn't mind playing it all over again (it's MASSIVE).

The first game I purchased with my switch and after sinking over 100 hours into it I'm still enjoying it. As a long time xbox gamer and fan of bethesda I can most easily compare it to skyrim or oblivion as it is an open world rpg, but I feel it wins out in almost every catagory. Trust me that's a lot to say as Oblivion is one of my all time favorite games, especially from a nostalgia perspective. Zelda Breath of the Wild nails all the components of a great open world rpg yet doesn't feel like it's been done before.

Wow, Zelda BOTW is just an amazin game. The mechanics is great. There is so much freedom of what you can do in the game. Gliding, swiming, sailing, climbing or even "surfing" in dessert. You can also cook and make your own dishes. The main story line is very interesting and keeps you playing. And there are endless side quest that you can enjoy. There are so many shrines each with witty puzzles which is either too trivial or too difficult. Compared to previous zelda games' dungeon, I prefer these shrines much better , they are like puzzles in bite size. Main quest and side quests can be switched anytime you want and the destinations are mostly marked, So you don't feel lost, not knowing where to you. YOu still need to do some searching, but it's mostly directed. The graphics style is work very well on switch. It looks very nice and yet quite smooth despite Switch's limited graphical power. The game is partly voice acted. Most cutscenes have great voiceovers. Sound effects are excellent. It doesn't have background music all the time, but when there is background music, you know that you have reached certain milestone and the music and sound effects are excellent. It's many games into one. There are the RPG , hit and slash, fighting, puzzles elements etc. The game has so much depth to it. What you where can affect your body temperature. And what you cook and eat can affeect your stamina and health. The world is huge and there is so much to do. Overall, this is a must play game on Switch. Just get it.
