A Zelda game that kicks your a**
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much to say that everybody else hasn't already said; it's expansive and atmospheric, and doesn't hold you by the hand like so many other open-world games do. For instance; sure you will climb a tower or two to get the lay of the land, but then instead of the game swarming you with interest points, it is up to you to decide what is interesting to look at and explore. And there is so much to explore. Enemies are threatening, the environments can be threatening, the Shrines, of which there are many, are entertaining, and I'm not even going to tell you about the Real Dungeons (tm) that you will run into. Just no. Go see them for yourself. A meandering review but I want to get back to it. But finally, the game has wild horses you can tame and feed apples to. Game of the Year already. Review Synopsis: Take off your clothes and talk to people/10

Great Game! But not for everyone...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just as the previous Legend of Zelda games, Breath of the Wild has a story line with tasks to complete. from side quests, to main story quests, puzzles, boss fights, etc. There is one huge difference, though. Breathe of the Wild does not expect you to do everything in a specific order. You are free to roam the map (which is HUGE) and find quests a part from the main story line. You can explore and complete tasks in different order and find your way in the game. It offers a very detailed environment with great graphics that include random animals, fireflies, goats, rain, thunderstorms, day, night, and many other things. It definitely takes a lot of patience to do many of the things that the game requires, hence my review title, but if you're into that and up for the challenge, then I for sure recommend it.

Killer app for switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a beautiful game, the presentation and open world are top notch. Most Zelda games are awesome but this is the best of the best. It seems the frame rate drops a bit as the switch seems to struggle at times but it does not ruin the experience.

Go For It!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun. Bought this for my son to play on his new Switch, but also so I could play it. I enjoy the old Zelda adventures. The Switch is a cool platform, and the game is awesome.

Awesome launch title
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Zelda is a great open world game that doesn't focus on just the main quest. Looks great in handheld but a lot of frame drops and stutters while docked.

My son loves it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are into adventure, this is the game for you. My 12 year old son loves it. Graphics is amazing! Not very difficult to play but still challenges your mind. I used to play Zelda when I was younger and still enjoy playing the newest version.

Love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much to do, it's almost intimidating but I love it. One thing I don't like are the weapons and shields continuously breaking. I liked how in the older games you would find something special and it would last until the end of the game.

Incredible game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an absolutely gorgeous and wonderful game to play! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an open world adventure game. I've been a huge Zelda fan my whole life and this definitely delivers. (It may even one up Ocarina of Time slightly)

Incredible entry to the series!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game completely blew me away. There is an incredible amount of things to do and places to explore. You never feel limited or overpowered and the challenge remains throughout the game.

YOU NEED THIS GAME
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have a switch? You need this game, hands down the best of the franchise to have launched in the last 10 years. Hours of game play, and amazing story, and hours of content to keep you busy.

A must play for any Zelda fan.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They went a different direction with this game. It’s a more open world / exploration themed Zelda, but it still managed to capture the magic of previous entries even without traditional dungeons. I’ve already put in over 40 hours into it.

Great game with a lot of replay value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very in depth entertaining game that could be played multiple times and different situations can occur. Can’t wait for the dlc second story line. You could easily play 200 hours in the game of exploring and not advance in the story line.

Fun to play.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily the best Zelda game from gameplay to story, with a solid +200 hours worth of content without DLC (if you don't rush to the end game boss). If you thought Wind Waker was a good game then Breath of the Wild is perfect for you.

Fantastic TLOZ Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A stunning open world rpg game where link must regain his memories while trying to save hyrule once more! creative, unique and star-strucked by its immense originality and gameplay! only downside is that the keybinds only have two options...

Best zelda yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing open world game play that's not like anything else I've played. Completely non linear and encourages exploring. Easy to play for hours or just a few minutes when you have time.

Expansive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is huge, it changes everything that you ever knew about Zelda, in a good way. The first game to break from the stale formula and lets you play the game how you want to.

It's 2017 Zelda!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Other than being a huge Nintendo/Zelda fan, this is just about the best open world type Zelda, think GTA! Hopefully, this will be the type of software to keep the Switch alive and around!

An average but good game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a switch, you should get this game. Not because it's great, but because it's average and still offers hundreds of hours of play time. The negative reviews are all correct, and so are the positive reivews. The actual reality is somewhere in the middle. It has a big beautiful world, but many areas are just empty other than trees and grass. Most of the game seems to focus more on basic survival like gathering supplies and cooking, rather than working towards a goal. It may as well have been called Legend of Zelda: woodland survival. Link is hopelessly outmatched and really needs to work hard to live in this world. The best way to try and make the game more playable would be to collect 13 heart containers and go straight for the master sword so you won't have to worry about weapon breakage every minute (although the sword still needs to recharge between uses). Then start working on adding stamina so you can swim and climb mountains. The old style of Zelda involved many dungeons that would grant you powerful new weapons, but in this game there isn't much in the way of that. Since Link is so weak most of the time, this game really requires you to use creative thinking and interaction with the environment to beat enemies and puzzles, rather than charging in with an old bow or sword that will break after a few swings. It is the total opposite of past games and something you need to get used to. It is still a good overall game that can be enjoyed if you look past its many flaws and work with the game dynamics that are given. If you try and play it as a traditional Zelda game, you will be disappointed. Just wander around and have fun finding mysteries and enjoying the scenery. It has some amazing unique graphics and scenes you will enjoy. This is a whole new game style and takes some getting used to, but satisfying if you want it to be. This is the first game where I feel like a strategy guide is mandatory, otherwise you could waste huge amounts of time searching for areas and items on your own. Perhaps the biggest achievement (and downfall) of the game is that they made it far too realistic. Most of what happens is what you would expect in real life. Rain puts out fires and makes rock slippery, lighting strikes are dangerous, fire can burn things, and weapons can break. Add to this the stamina wheel where Link gets tired after a short run, and it leaves you wondering if they added too much realism in what is supposed to still be a video game.
