This game has renewed my console gaming life. I have been playing strictly console games all my life until 2 years ago when I started playing PC. This game + the switch has brought me back to the console world and I just have to say this is so worth the GOTY award it got and the hype. Just get it. It is amazing.

I've never been a zelda fan, like ever, played ocarina of time on 3ds and never even finished it, but this game here is a whole nother level. So many side quest, interactions, weapons and equipment all in a open world map (which is HUGE). To me, this should be a game everyone atleast tries out before discrediting.

    A game greater than 'itself'

This game really is great and it can be separated into nearly two distinct games. The 'main story' portion is actually rather short compared to Zelda games of past, but the 'additional' content is extremely huge and plentiful, enough to be it's own game in itself. Is it great? Yes. Should you buy it? I highly recommend so.

Seriously, stop reading and buy this game. I am only sorry I could not give more than 5 stars. Just go watch some videos of it online to be sure, then buy it. The only important thing to add here is that it is not at all necessary for you to have played any of the past Zelda games to enjoy this game. It stands on its own.

I'm probably 40 hours in to Breath of the Wild and the hype is REAL! This is the best reviewed video game in history for a reason, and you're probably better off googling any major outlet's take on the game (IGN, Gamespot, Destructoid) than reading about my ramblings about how much fun it is to cook food and kill Guardians :P

Zelda take on the open-world genre takes the complexity of it and simplifies it enough that you enjoy exploring and doing whatever you want in the game, while still giving a large variety of what you can do in this world. This is a great title and if your looking for a huge time sink, this is your game.

Like most, Ocarina of Time is a standard I hold many games up to. Even after playing it nearly 20 years ago I can still remember how enthralling it was. Breath of the Wild recaptures that happiness. It's great to see the franchise reach those heights again.

The storyline itself is very short, but the series adapts well to the open world concept by allowing you to explore and advance at your own pace.

I have a younger brother, who's a huge Legend of Zelda fan. I was glad to pick this up for him, as a Christmas gift. I know of the LoZ series, as I am an old school gamer myself. Definitely a pickup if you're a Zelda fan, and also have an Nintendo Switch.

The Nintendo Switch's definitive game of the year, and Super Mario Odyssey isn't even available yet! After many years of scripted, linear Zelda titles, gamers worldwide are rejoicing in a Zelda title that offers little in-game direction, similar to the first few games in the series. A 30th anniversary title not to be missed!

I was very skeptical that this game was as good as the critics say. Then I realized I stopped playing at 5am my first night with it. It, like most Zelda games, are a bit of a slow burn in the beginning but I felt so much agency to do what I wanted that every time I pick of the controller I am discovering something new.

Game has very nice graphics and eases you into game play by learning different things as you progress. Some things, like cooking, are not very clear and require trial and error. Game controls are easy to learn. This is a game for the long haul. I have made it not far of the plateau and can see it will be a long but fun game.

I bought this for my girlfriend along with the Switch, but we have been playing together and it has been a lot of fun. We take turns at each mission/checkpoint in the story line and it works out very well. This is probably the best full sized game (not arcade downloads in the eshop) that you can get for the Switch right now.

This game can't be described in a single paragraph. It is epic in both its story's scope and the sheer size of the world. I have spent hours with it and have only scratched the surface. It keeps pulling me in for more. If you have a Nintendo Switch, then this is a must by. Otherwise, you have to find a way to play this game.

The game features many upgrades and secrets. Frames never seem to be an issue and gameplay never freezes up. Awesome puzzles to earn hearts and stamina upgrades, but takes a long time (roughly ten hours) to really get a lot of heart and stamina upgrades.

Bought It For Kids, Became My Fav

Originally bought this for my daughter who loved the open world nature of Mario Odyssey and then got to play BOTW at her cousin's house over the holiday break. She likes it well enough, but the puzzles are still a bit hard for her to get completely on her own, so she had me start playing it. And now I can't put it down. I'm not a classic Zelda fan, nor even open-world type games, but I really do like that this game can be what you want. If you don't want to fight some over-powered monster right now, go do other stuff for a while and come back to it later. Want to spend time exploring? Collecting? Completing side quests? Whatever. For me, pretty much perfect.

Great game as always. The alight differences betwen the old version from older game system's up until this one were on point and great changes! Makes the game a little more difficult in terms of it being challenging but not impossible.
