Beautiful game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is infuriating, fun, frustrating, and, in many ways, a refreshing return to the challenging way games used to be made when you couldn't do everything immediately and had to work your way up and return. I loved the gorgeous graphics and open world. The game has an almost infinite number of different questions and places to explore and do and can be fun to just walk around and explore. Unlike previous Zelda games where you have to keep backtracking to do things with new tools you find, BOTW makes it feel more organic, as you explore the countryside and return to places to see new things and explore new parts you missed the first time. In earlier Zelda games, it always felt very grindy to me to have to keep returning to the same boring screen to walk in circles while you decide if you have the resources to break through a section and on to the next. This game is very fluid and always moves forward. If you get stuck, you can easily leave it for later. Aside from the frustrations that arose with the difficulty and parts of the game that were just beyond infuriating to try to get through, the only thing I found really disappointing was the final boss. I'd recommend the game to anyone, a fun take on Zelda lore in an open world

Game-changing Game

It’s a good one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a great Zelda game. This and Mario Odyssey are the must haves for the switch. It’s a lot like the other Zelda games, with a few new abilities and twists. It took a while to get going but I’m hooked. The open world means that you can play for hours and get nothing accomplished but explore, or you can get to the objectives if you want. The only minor annoyance is that your weapons break so that great sword you found only gets so many uses. A must buy.

Great open world game, okay Zelda game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The openness of the game is really emphasized throughout your playthrough. You can pretty much approach any situation however you want, the devs don't hold your hand. The story suffers from this however, and I think they spent so much time working on the size of the game that they didn't have enough time to focus on the typical Zelda experience with the dungeons. There isn't enough of them, in my opinion. Weapon durability sucks too. Still a masterpiece of a game, though.

The best Zelda game of all time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is phenomenal. Open world, very little direction as to where to go or how do it (which i like personally). The game can be very difficult at times, which is welcomed, especially for a Nintendo title. You can get sucked in for hours, and not even realize it. Soooooo much to do. If you have a Switch and don't have this already, then buy it, now. You won't regret it.

Its rare that a game like this comes along
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This, for me, has been one, if not the best game I have played. I was a little skeptical at first about an open world Zelda game, but this is a true work of art. Its like an anime you get to control. The art style is amazing as is the music and sound. Once you get used to the weapons and shields breaking this game is really fun. I love exploring and finding Kroko seeds, and having it on the Switch and being able to take it with me anywhere has been amazing!

One of the best games I've ever played.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't finished BOTW yet but it's definitely a contender for one of the best games I've played, period. It's been two weeks since I got it and I'm playing it every possible moment I have. The world is immersive and huge, the story is engaging, the music is fantastic and the difficulty is just right. You can spend WEEKS in one area trying to find every secret and still miss some. This will go down as one of the best games of all time, Zelda or otherwise.

phenomenal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.phenomenal game! pros: map is so freaking big story is decent exploration is endless and fun difficulty varies depending on where you are and what you're doing dungeons are interesting, but short cons: inventory management gets annoying all of your weapons break which can get annoying at times money is tight throughout the game, in order to buy most things, you'll need to grind and/or find a little trick online on how to get money quickly

Awesome way to modernize Zelda.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been playing Zelda since I was a kid on the NES. It is one of my favorite game franchises. By far my favorite is Zelda Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64. It made a perfect transition to 3D back in those years. It surpassed all of my expectations. After that all other Zelda games fell short to capture the same amount of excitement and satisfaction that OofT did. And to think that Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword are awesome games still. Fast forward to Breath of the Wild. I think Breath of the Wild is what Zelda has always needed to be in a 3D world. I love how they don't hold your hand anytime in the game and guide you where to go next. You have all the freedom to travel as you wish in the huge world Nintendo has created. There is no Navi fairy or Fii Sword spirit guiding you throughout the game. You learn things by talking to people and them telling you their stories and rumors going around the world. It really feels like a modern Zelda from the NES era and it is awesome. You can get lost for hours in its huge world and you will find secrets in every corner. It is a very satisfying experience every time I play, and it stays in your mind giving you a itch to go back and play some more. I highly recommend getting a Nintendo Switch and playing it on there instead of Wii U. This game is enormous and the convenience of the Switch allows you to play anytime you have some free time. I'm glad to see Nintendo is getting back on track. Here's hoping this E3 2017 they show off some amazing new games to support the system from 1st parties and 3rd parties. Breath of the Wild is as of now my second favorite Zelda game behind Ocarina of Time now question. I haven't finished yet so maybe it will be my favorite at the end.

Its all the best pieces of the zelda games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is just the best Zelda to date period. This time Nintendo made it a launch title, which made the Switch worth buying just for this game alone. The exploration, puzzles, food cooking system and battles are just in the right mix along with the storyline which is non linear (you can choose how you approach the game) I recommend just enjoy every minute of it. Dont rush the game. Every shrine, side quest and upgrades are worth playing a while. Although, it is all good, it still has some flaws that made this game a tad bit from being perfect. First, the menu system, I wish that they could just have made a hot key for consumables so I dont need to hit the + button every time I need to eat food and drink an elixir. (the down on the directional pad should be used for this instead of the whistle) The Joy Con needs some time to get used to. I always accidentally press the left analog down which makes Link crouch when Im in the heat of battle (I just hate it) So I got the Nintendo pro controller which made it a lot better (I think this pro controller should have came with the system). This minor inconveniences wont tarnish this game as one of the best games that I played ever in my 30 years of video gaming. Nintendo is still the best when it comes to making the best and coolest fun games.

Open world works for Zelda game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first open world Zelda game and it is a great first try at it. It changes up the usual formula of visiting dungeons to progress in Zelda games but it is definitely a nice change of pace. The game starts out extremely tough as everything is a threat but as you become more experienced, you'll be able to roam free and explore every nook and cranny of the world and explore all the charm this Zelda game has to offer.

A different take on Zelda
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As the only must-have launch title for the Switch (just my opinion!) it helps that it's actually a good game. An open world spin on Zelda is quite different than folks are used to and it works mostly pretty well. There are some quibbles about stuff that I personally don't like (breakable weapons, for example) and the dungeons are totally different for a Zelda game. But still a lot of fun and playing it directly on the Switch gamepad is a trip!

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely a great game. Has a bit of a challenge and it's not the unfair type of challenge it's more of you made a mistake and it's your fault type of challenge. You can literally try to beat the game from the start, and probably fail at such unless you are REALLY good. Would suggest this to someone that Likes Either Skyrim or any other Legend of Zelda Fan or just anyone who wants an adventure, because an adventure it is!

Masterpiece!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A masterpiece game, you can't go wrong with this one. As always, it's a Zelda game which doesn't fail to meet high expectations. A huge amount of gameplay is available with numerous side missions which will keep you busy playing this game for at least 40+ solid hours.

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game for my 10 year old son and he absolutely loves it. He goes on and on about how good the game is and about all the cool things he did while playing. I highly recommend it. Nice graphics, looks like a good storyline and open world concept seems never ending. Really nice to share with him a game I enjoyed playing myself when I was young.

A 'Breath' of fresh air for an adored video game.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best Zelda yet. Manages to solve all of the usual downfalls of open world games. Exploration is fun again--breakable weapons ensure that you always find meaningful loot, even if it's a weaker weapon, it can still be used on weaker enemies to save the durability of your stronger weapons. The story and atmosphere are breathtaking, and the world is beautifully designed. This is a game we'll be talking about for years to come.

Amazing addition to the Zelda series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been playing The Legend of Zelda since the first iteration on the NES. My favorite in the series so far has been Link to the Past, but it remains to be seen if Breath of the Wild overtakes that position. BotW first of all is gorgeous; the landscapes and environments are just beautiful and the world is massive. Gameplay is very fun. I've put in probably around 15 hours so far but have accomplished very little because I like to explore and experiment. Discovering what you can do in the world is very interesting, especially because you now have the Sheikah tablet and it's abilities. I still haven't gotten to the divine beasts, so am quite eager to learn what they do (I've avoided all videos and write ups about the game so I've been going in completely blind). Fighting and staying alive is challenging, but if you play smart you can do a lot early on. Before heading out to new areas I try to make sure I have at minimum three faeries in my inventory. Luckily you can easily warp to places you've been, so when I'm in trouble I retreat to figure out a different tactic. Overall, I'm so happy with what Nintendo has done with this game. I would be happy owning the Switch solely to play it (though luckily the Switch has so many more amazing titles). I'm yet to see if it has retained elements that most of the other Zelda franchise has, but even without the 'classic' elements I love this game.

Open World Zelda.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Breath of the Wild is a huge success as a Zelda game and as an open world game. Nintendo has created the perfect mix of classic Zelda gameplay and story, and the best ideas from modern open world games. Many elements are added, changed or removed making this a very unique entry in a series I thought was getting played out.

Zelda is back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's Zelda meets Skyrim. Skyrim's openness where you can go anywhere you can see combined with Nintendo's focus and polish. Is a huge game and thought was put into every mountain and enemy encounter. The game encourages experimentation when fighting enemies and constant exploration elsewhere. The best open-world game I've played.
