So far, the BEST Zelda game EVER!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been playing since the release and I have to say, as a fan who has played every Zelda game, this is the best one I have played. I know that is a bold statement as Ocarina Of Time is the flagship standard, but the open world of BotW's Hyrule, the non-linear aspect, the hunting, the graphics, the story and tie-ins... even the shout outs to other franchises makes this game an EXPERIENCE!!

Solid purchase for anyone with a swtich
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fun! The game captures a lot of the open-world, go-anywhere, do-anything fun of Skyrim. The graphics are charming and stylized, although it's probably one of the more demanding (eg battery-draining) games on the switch. As a newcomer to nintendo I've never played a Zelda game before but this is very easy to get into and it gets fun right away. It seems like almost every enemy drops something for you and without having finished it yet I can tell there's a lot of potential for grinding or hunting down your favorite gear. The plot doesn't appear to be anything special but the characters are pretty neat and tend to have something neat or funny to say most of the time. I would definitely recommend it, I think it'd be hard to find someone who -wouldn't- be able to enjoy this game at least a bit. There's clearly hours and hours - probably upwards of 50, or maybe just Skyrim-tier hundreds - of content here, so it's very well worth the price tag.

Takes my breath away...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously. I find myself laughing and crying at this game. The depth of exploration and design in even the smallest of details bottles my mind. When you think, "Man, I wonder if that will work?" and you try it, guess what? It WORKS! This is the first game where possibilities seem endless for solving the same puzzles and exploring the same world. 70+ hours in and still finding new content.

One of the best games ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the best games ever. It's fun, challenging, and let's the player explore and truly go anywhere. If a hill or mountain is in the way of where you want to go, simply just climb it. Story isn't forced and gives the player many choices during gameplay. Pure genius

I cannot stop playing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, Zelda BOTW is such a great experience. Looks great, is fun to play, and there is so much to see and explore. The game lets you play and do how you see fit without holding your hand. There is something around every corner in this game and it keeps me coming back. It's a must buy for every Switch owner.

One Of The Best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a big change to most Zelda games, and for the most part it is a good change. You're in a giant sandbox and where ever you see on the horizon you can travel to. The art style is an odd mixture of cartoon and realistic that works sometimes and others, not so much. The gameplay of having the weapons break is one of the low points in the game and unless you buy the DLC and beat the specific quest to unlock the full powered Master Sword, you're going to get frustrated real quick. The other item would be from a story perspective, it is rather lacking. There is a good story lurking underneath, but you only get bits and pieces of it if you really go out and look for it, rather than being guided by it. This can be a good or bad thing, depending on what you're looking for. Overall it's a great game and a perfect addition to the Switch.

One of the greatest games i've ever played.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't normally play games through the end, only a few titles are able to hold my intention and dive me into the world. Zelda for me, is one of those games. Being one of the game franchises i grew up on, purchasing a Switch and Zelda was a day one decision. I havent been able to put the game down. The mechanics are amazing, dodge at the right time and boom, strike your foe to death. Amiibo support has been great too. Scan your Smash Bros Link and get Epona, Scan Wolf Link and get a Wolf Link companion in game. Kinda reminds me of Metal Gear V. Puzzles in the shrines throughout the game has been fun, a bit tedious if you want to increase your heart/ stamina level quickly. But they is a vast variation of puzzles and skills you need to use to solve them. Im still not done with the game though, 50+ hours and going strong. So many things to do i get deviated from the main quest and just keep doing my own thing. And taking this game on the go is a huge + too. I can play anywhere! Definitely buy this if you are a fan of the Zelda franchise and/or enjoy open world games. Just to add: A lot of people complain that your weapons break and dont have good durability but, there are so many weapons you pick up during the game that you have ample amount of weapons to go through. Aww my 38 DMG 2-hander broke, i just found a 52 DMG 2-hander! And this goes on and on.

Didn't expect this...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never been the biggest Zelda fan. I enjoy the games but there has always been just a lack of narrative that distracts me. In this case though, the lack of narrative was the goal, and the open world screams at you to make your own adventure. This isn't new to the open world genre, but for some reason it works way better here. This game takes what assassin's Creed started, and the rest of the industry adopted, and makes it fun again. I don't even know how really, but it does. My theory is that it makes every little thing you do in the world, whether it's doing shrines, expanding map awareness through towers, or exploration in general, directly effect you in the game. The shrines for more stamina and hearts, the map awareness to find more shrines or new areas to explore, and exploration to find food, minerals, critters or more. Everything you do is to your direct benefit so you never really feel like you're wasting time. Of course, the problems with this game are the sames ones you've probably read here there and every where: weapon durability. It sucks to finally find a good weapon but be afraid to use it due to the fact that you only get between 10 and 20 hits before you lose it forever. A bummer, but another reason to go out in the world and find koroku seeds and expand your inventory! Woo!

One of the Greatest Video Games Ever Made
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been playing video games for over 30 years. This is one of the best games I have ever played. Tons of content with a really fun world to explore. Most games today feel like they are only made to upsell you for more content. Breath of the Wild easily has over 100 hours of gameplay within it.

One of the Greatest
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the greatest games ever produced, even if you took the storyline and main quests out of it, I just love running around and exploring the world and finding new ways to take on enemies, obstacles and mechanics. It's also beautiful to boot. Be careful you will loose track of time while playing.

Breathing all the WILDS
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say about this Zelda? It is a game that requires no direction, want to run on the beach for hours with your horse? Go for it, want to stand and pick off monsters during a blood moon? Who's stopping you? This is a great game that allows your frustration to boil at capacity and then doesn't shame you when you want to chase blue rabbits for days on end. There is a unicorn too so that's fun. I spent maybe 6 months part-time on this game to beat it, the best six months of my life. I feel lost with this game being "over" it was challenging, and inspirational, and I am lost until the next Zelda is released. Save the girl, kill the pigs, and live your best life.

Breath-Taking!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have played every Zelda game Nintendo has ever made. From the first time Link appeared on screen in the original version, alone and ready for adventure, I've been right there by his side. Link is the epitome of a video game hero... the archetype, really. Breath of the wild is the pinnacle! The game, in my opinion, is near perfection. The mechanics, the graphics, the story, the pace, the freedom, the extras, the joy, the difficulty, the puzzles,... it is all on par with a perfect gaming experience. My only complaint, and I mean only complaint, is that with the way the game is set up and even the story line plays out, this game could have very easily been made into a two player co-op, where you can play as either Link or Zelda or both simultaneously. Regardless of whether you agree a Legend of Zelda game should be a multi-player game or not, this game is set up perfectly to be so. I, for one, would love to have the choice between a sword wielding archer or a warrior sorceress. Zelda is a pinnacle in the series and should have her share of the lime light. As well, this game is enjoyed by millions all over the globe, why not have the ability to share that enjoyment while kicking Gannon's butt with a friend by your side?

Best game I've played in quite a while
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been hard pressed to find a game that could stack-up against The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild blows these two out of the water. The expanse of the game is beyond what I was expecting and seems to be even larger than Skyrim by my estimation. The greatest part about this is that the whole world is yours to explore as you would like. I've only explored probably 3/10ths of the world and I have been playing for about three weeks now. Be prepared to find everything you need. NOTHING is handed to you on a silver platter, you really have to work for and find everything yourself, and when you do you should expect to not keep whatever you find for very long. Things break constantly. If you want to keep something then you better plan on not using it. Save your most powerful weapons for the more powerful enemies. With all of that said, finding everything yourself makes the game so much more satisfying. If you are thinking of getting a Switch and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild I would do it regardless of if you are an avid or just a casual gamer. Even if you don't make much progress in the game's main story you will still feel satisfied in being able to just run around exploring the world that is completely open to you. Just have fun with it!

Torn on the new direction
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start, this game was a blast to explore. Being able to go pretty much anywhere you can see is a great feature to any game. The collectibles were great fun to find, and I really liked the shrine puzzles. In some ways the game felt more like a different series with a Zelda skin put over it though. I missed the old formula and sense of progression from the other games - gradually receiving items to help you solve specific and more complex puzzles. The difficulty was a bit strange as well. I may have had a knack for picking all the wrong places to head (which would be a bit strange in such an open world game), but I found myself constantly one shot by enemies if I didn't perfectly execute dodges and parries. It was a fun game, but a few flaws kept it from being the amazing experience to me that others seemed to find it.

Such A Great Game!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been playing this game for about 30 hours, so far, and, I've been having a blast! The graphics are great, the music is great, the story is great! I really recommend this to anyone who has a switch. My only con about this game is that the weapons break too easily. Can't wait for the sequel to come out!

A Legendary Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is the first original entry for a home based system since Skyward Sword and the wait was well worth it. Nintendo has created one of the most interesting and immersive open worlds in games today, making Hyrule a vast and often times very dangerous land. When you think you are nearing the end don't be surprised if you happen to stumble upon a new secret or even a new village as I learned in my latest play through. While it may not be my favorite Zelda game (Ocarina of Time is still #1) it is my favorite open world game. The game has an enjoyable story but lacks the strong dungeons and boss fights that fans of the franchise are accustomed to. Rather then having a standard dungeon with epic boss fights Nintendo in a way made the entire world one massive dungeon with many different points of interest and a few safe regions. The Switch gives players the option to play Zelda on the go with the tablet or on tv and both options work great and look amazing.

Not Exactly Zelda but Still Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is a huge leap from a traditional Zelda game. I am accustomed to a mostly linear adventure where a dungeon has one item required to finish it, then it is helpful in the next. BotW turns that on its head. Weapons break, dungeons are optional, and you can play it like a survival horror if you wish. This game is huge, open, and great to explore.

My first Zelda game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I own other Zelda games this one is the first that I have played and let me tell you it is worth every penny you pay for it. This game is beyond fun, the open world and array of main quest, side question, memory missions, and ever present enemies will have you playing for days without getting bored. The game is set up so there is really no right or wrong way to play, you can go to any part of the map at any time. However you may want to wait in some cases because it might be easier later on after you get some gear. Along with the freedom to play however you wish, you will also find that there is a lot to this game, even after to complete missions or beats shrines there is a lot to explore and do. Plus Amiibo do things in this game, not only the Zelda characters but all amiibo can be used to provide gear and supply. There are no difference between the Wii U and the Switch version so just pick which ever system you prefer to play. Or if you are like me buy both.

Simply Amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no idea what to expect when i purchased this game. I only have about 25 hours of play so far, but what I can say is this game has amazing controls, story and the graphics are really good. If you are a fan of any Zelda game, then prepared to be blown away. My only complaint is how quickly your weapons degrade. Overall, I recommend this game.
