fantastic game with loads of content
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is how an open-world game should be constructed. There is plenty of content that let you know it's in a Zelda world while also maintaining a level of openness not seen since the first game in the series. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is that I think the combat could be a lot better. It's not awful by any means, but I think the lock-on could be better and the controls, or rather the button placement, could be better in the way that it relates to combat. It's not bad or anything, but if you're a fan of From's Souls series, don't go in expecting combat like that. Fantastic game in every other regard though.

Still worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cartridge and game case were in perfect condition. And the game itself still holds up despite being 8 years old and having a sequel. Definitely worth it on switch 2 too, considering the upgrade pack is free if you have an NSO + expansion pack.

Fresh Breath to a Classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda is a series that I have always enjoyed since I was a child, and this game brought a new angle to a classic. The aspects of The Legend of Zelda including Link and Zelda are present, with a more modern twist (modern for video games). What I mean by modern is the open world concept, instead of continuous dungeon after dungeon in a certain order. It did change the Zelda spirit, when it comes to dungeons crawling with puzzles and challenges to being more spread out throughout the land with hidden temples containing puzzles as a different twist. I remember reading the first weeks of reviews for this game (I obtained a copy on release day) and seeing people complain about Zelda being an open world game taking away from the spirit of Zelda games. However, I along with many others agree that it is a different style of game, but executed tremendously and near flawless. 10/10.

The best Zelda ever.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit it takes some time to get use to the new weapons and their durablitly but once you do it's quite possibly one of the best if not best video games I have ever played. There is so much to explore and so many tasks to complete it will keep the user busy for some time.

the most beautiful adventure
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like others have said, this is truly the best game I've ever played. So beautiful and relaxing, but also plenty of thrilling combat opportunities and puzzles. After hundreds of hours I still haven't quite finished the main storyline because I don't want it to be over, and there's more than enough to explore still to keep me occupied in the meantime. No other game has even come close to the sheer exhilaration I felt every time I crested a hill and discovered a stunning new region or town. I'd give anything to play this for the first time again.

Another great Zelda!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Graphics in this game are stunning and the traditional Zelda story is there. Not getting sidetracked in the "open world" of this edition is more of issue. So many places to explore and items to find make that easy. Non-Zelda players can find plenty to do. Excellent Game!!

Best Zelda title since Ocarina of Time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like that this game is open world and there isn't a path/order to where you have to go. You can literally do what you want, when you want and still progress through the game. The gameplay is great, and there is a lot more story to this Zelda title than any previous title.

Open World Done Right!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a beautiful game! This is how you do open world. So much to explore and so many unique areas. Best part is the ability to climb just about everything. They really nailed the story and gameplay on this one.

even 5 years after release, still a great purchase
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been eyeing this game for a while and finally decided to buy it when it went on sale during black friday. I am so glad i did. I have spend just over 200 hours playing so far and it has still kept me entertained. the graphiscs are still very nice to look at and i feel that they haven't aged at all. Gamewise, this is an open world playthrough FYI. it is not everyones taste but still has a somewhat linear approach to the goals you have to complete, if you even choose to! i am sure i will have many more hours of playthrough left and am thinking of getting the DLCs as well. highly reccomend

Amazing Game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent game! This is the first Legend of Zelda game I've played since Twilight Princess and I'm enjoying it a whole lot. It's not as story focused as Twilight Princess, but it's still an interesting story. The gameplay is addicting and a bit different than past games. Weapons have durability and can break after extended use, there are more environmental hazards like freezing weather or scorching heat depending on the region, cooking food can provide buffs, and armor sets also provide buffs. It can be a bit overwhelming at first because you're thrust into the world and are free to explore it entirely. I've read you can even head straight for the final boss and take him on. I would definitely recommend this game.

Best Zelda Ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know that's a bold statement, but it may beat out Link to the Past and Wind Waker as my favorite. The best praise I can give it is that it's completely different from any Zelda game I've played, yet it feels just as familiar as any other Zelda. It takes the best parts of open world games, but keeps it just simple enough that it doesn't feel as overwhelming as some open world games (GTA, I love you but sometimes I feel it's too much open world). You're rewarded for exploration and you are welcome and encouraged to go and do anything. It's more RPG-ish in some ways than the past, with more inventory management and cooking recipes, but again, doesn't feel too much like diving into something like Witcher III. It's the best of all worlds together in the familiar and welcoming Zelda universe. If you're into Zelda, open world exploration, light RPG elements, or story, you'll be glad you bought this one.

So much to do.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I've loved this game, and I've been playing it for hours daily since release. Being a completionist I've still got a while yet before I'll even consider the game beat (I want to discover all shrines and all the seeds), but going through the story itself and killing Ganon still took me a few days. If you like Zelda, but enjoy more open world games this is a must. Not even saying you need a switch, get it on wii u if you can (might even be better since you have access to the map/menu at all times). I will say that nothing about this game is super challenging though, so if you enjoy hard games this might disappoint a little. They will be adding hard mode later on, but that is months away, and I have the sneaking suspicion it might be DLC only which I hope isn't the case (so far this game is the only DLC I've ever bought in my life, but I will be the first to admit I'm a Zelda fan boy for better or worse).

Still The Reason To Own A Switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every Switch should come bundled with this game, because you’re just going to wind up buying it anyway and dropping 100+ hours into the best experience of this console generation. At this point it’s two years old, but it remains incredible, not just as the probable best ever entry into the Zelda series (Ocarina fanboys get @ me) but as a phenomenal game in its own right. I’m jealous of 10 year olds for whom this will be their first Zelda game, as I couldn’t imagine a better, more fun, or playfully challenging entry to the gaming universe. Put down your Fortnites and your Call Of Duties and get down to business in Breath of the Wild, gliding around with wild abandon for no real reason, dropping bombs on Chu Chu’s, and playfully bantering with a few friendly Gorons.

A masterpiece
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've been waiting for this game for a while now. It is finally out and doesn't disappoint. It does feel like a different take on the Zelda series since there are a few changes made to the gameplay that are both great and not so great. While everyone will be talking about how good it is (you can read other reviews for those), I'll instead talk about the annoying elements I had issues with. The stamina meter being the big thing. Getting stuck in the middle of the river and not being able to swim or climb certain areas without you losing all your stamina and having to restart can get frustrating. Link also traverses those really slow. Durability on weapons also is something I don't care for. Sure it makes it more realistic, but still annoying nonetheless. Aside from those minor issues, overall, it is an excellent game and it is no wonder why it is one of highest rated games thus far from reviews.

MUST Buy if you own a Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge fan of all Zelda games in the series. However, you don't need to play the previous titles to enjoy this game since it's got a story of its own and YOU can pretty much play the game however way you like. The engine created for Breath of the Wild is absolutely phenomenal. There are so many different ways to reach a goal. This game will have you thinking outside of the box and you will always be discovering new things. There is a massive open world to explore and lots of things you can collect. I also love all the outfits you can get and customize with colors. It's simply a masterpiece and everyone should play it no matter your age. The DLC also adds a lot more content on top of the base game which I also think is well worth it. Seriously, if you're thinking of buying a Switch or own a Switch, getting this game is a must.

Best Zelda game ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long time fan of the series here. A Link to the Past was my first Zelda game, and for the longest time it was my all-time favorite. I've only played a few hours of BotW and I already know it's going to be at the top of the list by the time I'm finished. This is an open world game with incredible attention to detail. It's impossible to follow a linear path, because there's so many cool things to do, nice stuff to see, and interesting puzzles to solver at every turn. Getting lost and wandering the world in this game is the best open-world sandbox experience I've had in any game since GTA: San Andreas. The controls are super easy to pick up and learn if you have any experience with 3D games at all. If not, there might be a bit of a learning curve, but it doesn't get much better than this for a first time 3D experience either. 10/10 would buy again.
