I've enjoyed this Zelda game more than any other I've played (was never able to finish Skyward Sword). It is a fresh breath of air for the open-world genre which has become an uninspired marketing term these days. No game has ever made me enjoy exploration as much as this one. This game will never stop surprising you.

Breath of the Wild is one of the best open world games I've ever played. Nintendo has nailed the sense of wonder and discovery, and I continue to discover new things that bring a smile to my face. I was already ready to buy a Switch, but this game solidifies that purchase and I look forward to future games on the system!

This, along with Mario Odyssey, are must buys for any switch owner. The story, mythology and level of detail were impressive. Wish it never ended. Altho, there's plenty of side things/collectibles even after the game ends. On top of that, they released some good DLC w/ a new mode/difficulty level

Easily one of the best Zelda games ever, the exploration and world building is better than any other game in the series, bar none. The only negligible problem would be weapon durability, but you're given an abundance of weapons to counter this problem.

All of the other reviews and recommendations of this game as a "must have" are correct. Great gameplay and fun on both console or a TV. Since you can't spend all your time getting bells to pay off Tom Nook (can you?) this is definitely one to add to your library.

Man, I don't even know where to start. 100+ hours in this game and I still haven't beat the main quest. Not because I can't or and trudging through the story... but because there's just so much to do and see in this game that I keep putting off doing the main stuff. I don't even think about it, I'm always discovering new things on my way to the next new thing. It's truly something wonderful.

I had been waiting to play this game ever since I played it at E3. It's rare that I really get into a big open wild RPG because I find they get tedious really quickly with repetitive cut scenes and fetch quests. This one though is doing it right. There are plenty of skills and abilities and lots of secrets to discover. The enemies are varied and their presentation so far has kept the gameplay unique and unexpected. The cooking and crafting is quick and fun to play around with. They also make it an essential skill to learn right off the bat with cold areas that require you to brew hot pepper meals to stay alive. I appreciate the importance of stamina in this game as well. You can climb anything you want but if you're going up a serious cliff you'd better prep stamina meals and look for a way up that will give you a place to stop and rest. The same goes for swimming. Currents are fast and dangerous. You can't just jump in and hold down the stick until you make it across. You can only swim for so long before you tire and that can be tricky with hidden monsters in the water and currents sweeping you away.

I'm a big Nintendo fan but not really as big of a Zelda fans as others. But I have to say this is definitely one of the best games ever. I have become sick of open world games but this really breathed new life into it and exploring this world is so much fun. The game is one of the most polished games I have ever played

Not joking when I say this may be one of the best games of all time. Great game for new and old Zelda fans. The open world is amazing and the story is fantastic. 10/10 game and has a ton of stuff to stick your teeth in.

I love open world games and this really was the game for me. Never played a Zelda game before in my life but if you know the base of the Zelda and Link story then you’ll be fine. The graphics aren’t modern but more artistic which makes the game even better.

No matter what Zelda game you have enjoyed in the past, this one has something for everyone AND brings in that new generation of gamers with its open world concept not present since The Legend of Zelda on the NES. Do yourself a favor and get this game at the cheap price of $46 or whatever it is right now.

This Game is amazing and looks beautiful. I love how it looks on a big screen TV and I still think it is cool how you can take the game and play it on the go. It looks good on the Switch's screen however I find myself not wanting to do too much to advance the story while playing on the go. I do believe the big open world and how great it looks is somewhat sacrificed when playing on the go... don't get me wrong it looks just as amazing but I feel like it needs to be experienced on a bigger screen, but the idea that you can grab it and and go is still a plus obviously. The game reminds me of a cartoonish version of "The Witcher III" which is one of my all time favorite games. There is so much to do and explore, and i find myself like I did in "The Witcher III", where I am spending so much time just looking at the landscape and exploring different areas.

I finally got Breath of the Wild and it is almost worth fetting the Switch for this game alone. The combat can be challenging but still very fun. Exploration is very abundant as the map is huge and you can climb anywhere. It also looks really good for a cartoony game and even better when hooked up to the dock.

This is unlike any zelda game I've ever played but that's not a bad thing. I'm not a fan of open world games, yet this game does something that hooks me entirely. I enjoyed every gameplay element in this game from the cooking to the fights even to the weather elements that affect the way you can traverse across the map. You can almost immediately go anywhere right away giving you freedom to make your own story. This is a long game from what I can tell. I'm over 40 hours in and haven't even uncovered a third of the map. If you don't enjoy games that don't give you much direction this might not be for you. There's a lot of experimenting to learn different things and ways to progress in the game. I may be a little biased because I've played and enjoyed nearly every zelda game. I've only not played skyward sword.

**The only Spoilers in here are time to beat and how to use a skill they don't tell you outright (that you have access to from the start)** So I've finished the game after doing a large amount of shrine searching (taking about 90 hours), and this game still has me coming back for more. The guys over at Nintendo really made this Zelda title a work of art. It's not too handhold-ie and not too vague that you have no idea what is going on; however, do expect to die a little bit until you "get it" but even before you get it, it's not so punishing that the game can become un-fun (see: the Dark Souls series / From Software titles). It's a great game, and I'll be playing it for a while longer (especially after Hard Mode gets released in a few months). P.S. If you get the game, you can Shield Surf by holding ZL, then pressing jump at the same time, and while you're in the air press A. It took me a while to figure this out and isn't stated anywhere unless you do certain things, but it is a skill you have from the start of the game. Good luck, I wish I could forget it all and do it again fresh.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the games I've played this past year. The world in-game is the largest, and by far, most beautiful I've ever had the opportunity to explore in my 25 years of gaming. Exploration in this game does not feel like a chore either. It just feels natural to see something of interest off in the distance and then spend the next hour or so making my way there, taking care of random enemies and finding hidden treasures and secrets along the way. One of the things I love most about this game is that you're not overwhelmed with music: it's carefully peppered in for choice areas in the game to really add to the ambiance. Character designs are just top notch as well. Purah and Prince Sidon are just a couple of my faves. If you're a Legend of Zelda fan and you either haven't played or currently playing this right now, you need to remedy that and pick this gem up immediately. If you've never played a LoZ game before in your life, prepare yourself for one of the best games you've ever played and play this game!

As a Zelda fan, I didnt believe things could top my experiences from Ocarina of Time, or Skyward Sword or even Twilight Princess. I am happy to report: Breath of the Wild is an absolute masterpiece. 1) Exploration. It is massive, it is open, it is dangerous, and it is beautiful. You really feel one against the world in this game. There is so much to see, and nowhere you cannot go! Link is all over the place! From horses to flying to swimming, the exploration is on point. 2) THE WEAPONS! This game totally got this right. From awesome ancient Tron-looking weapons, to flame and thunder blades, to simple clubs and boomerangs, the weapons are so much fun to get and find new ones. 3) It is perfect. The only faults arent even the games fault, its the processing power of the Switch's fault. 10/10 would play 100 times and enjoy it each time
