    An average but good game

If you have a switch, you should get this game. Not because it's great, but because it's average and still offers hundreds of hours of play time. The negative reviews are all correct, and so are the positive reivews. The actual reality is somewhere in the middle. It has a big beautiful world, but many areas are just empty other than trees and grass. Most of the game seems to focus more on basic survival like gathering supplies and cooking, rather than working towards a goal. It may as well have been called Legend of Zelda: woodland survival. Link is hopelessly outmatched and really needs to work hard to live in this world. The best way to try and make the game more playable would be to collect 13 heart containers and go straight for the master sword so you won't have to worry about weapon breakage every minute (although the sword still needs to recharge between uses). Then start working on adding stamina so you can swim and climb mountains. The old style of Zelda involved many dungeons that would grant you powerful new weapons, but in this game there isn't much in the way of that. Since Link is so weak most of the time, this game really requires you to use creative thinking and interaction with the environment to beat enemies and puzzles, rather than charging in with an old bow or sword that will break after a few swings. It is the total opposite of past games and something you need to get used to. It is still a good overall game that can be enjoyed if you look past its many flaws and work with the game dynamics that are given. If you try and play it as a traditional Zelda game, you will be disappointed. Just wander around and have fun finding mysteries and enjoying the scenery. It has some amazing unique graphics and scenes you will enjoy. This is a whole new game style and takes some getting used to, but satisfying if you want it to be. This is the first game where I feel like a strategy guide is mandatory, otherwise you could waste huge amounts of time searching for areas and items on your own. Perhaps the biggest achievement (and downfall) of the game is that they made it far too realistic. Most of what happens is what you would expect in real life. Rain puts out fires and makes rock slippery, lighting strikes are dangerous, fire can burn things, and weapons can break. Add to this the stamina wheel where Link gets tired after a short run, and it leaves you wondering if they added too much realism in what is supposed to still be a video game.

Fans waited years for this game and boy did it deliver it. This game isn’t like your traditional Zelda game, but rather goes all the way back to the Original Zelda on the NES by putting the adventure into the players hands by dropping you into the world and just letting you go for it. If you want to go fight Ganon right away, you can! This game doesn’t have traditional dungeons like it’s predecessors, but instead has 4 large Divine Beasts and Hyrule Castle which act as this games dungeons. The world is also littered with shrines that can offer puzzle solving or combat challenges. This game is very large and has lots of things to do. Just don’t go into it expecting it to be like just another Zelda game and you will have a blast. Made even better since you can take it on the go!

Found the breath of the wild, game of the year 2017.should be the first and only game that you buy as soon as you get your switch. He has comedy, care, adventure, on an open world. The graphics are amazing at handheld and on your TV .

Wonderful open-world fun. An action RPG with a ton of puzzles to solve, beasts to fight, towns to visit, NPCs to talk to, dishes to cook, quests to do and one princess to save. Great adventure and fun for all ages.

It's a really great game! You never run out of things to do on it. It's expansive and challenging. The fighting system is very entertaining and I never want to run away from a battle.

Graphics are beautiful. The game is open world and even after the main story, there are a ton of side quests, massive world to explore, and many items to collect. Well worth the money. Got the Nintendo Switch just to play this game on the go.

Haven't played a Zelda game since N64 / Gansvube days and this new Zelda is a breath of fresh air for this old gamer. Haven't felt this engaged ins game since 200+ hours of Skyrim. Not even the new Final Fantasy XV could fill that void of another great adventure. Everything I loved about Skyrim is out into this Breath of The Wild and enough to hold me over until Skyrim is realeased for the Switch. Numerous enemies, catching story, ingredient collecting, map that takes forever to explore, horseback riding, countless armor and weapons, and the nostalgic puzzle dungeons now known as Shrines. Zelda Breath of the Wild is MUST OWN for any Switch owner.

If you love Zelda and Skyrim this game is for you, however, it has its quirks... I'm not a huge fan of the weapons constantly breaking, nor am I a fan of the numerous monsters that you really need to avoid in the early game. Once you get going and have some gear it makes life a bit easier but there's still plenty of times where you'll get your butt handed to you pretty easily. Once you have the master sword life is a bit better though.

I am blown away with this game. The graphics are great, the story is great and humorous. Growing up playing Zelda on n64, I had to have this. The world in the game is huge with a lot of stuff to do including challenging puzzles at time.

And he's all out of octogum. LOZ OoT was perhaps my favorite video game ever. Breath of the wild has so many nostalgic callbacks to it, and other games in the Zelda series. The gameplay is amazing. I'll admit, it took a while to get used to the deteriorating weapons over the usual way Zelda games handle it, but I got used to it and love it. I am seriously loving everything about this game except for one thing... Lack of music and original soundtrack. I can't stop playing it, and am trying to drag it out for as long as I can. I would highly recommend this game to old LOZ fans, and new alike! 10/10. Pooping hasn't been the same since this game came out!

The world in Zelda is absolutely huge and it looks gorgeous. Fighting bad guys via combat is pretty difficult though, it seems like the difficulty is higher in this game versus the other Zelda games

By far one of the best Zelda games to date. The world is huge and there is so much to explore if you don’t want to go straight into the story. Gameplay is smooth and the story itself is great

Great entry in the Zelda franchise. Big immersive world full of secrets and amazing gameplay. Still can't comment in the main quest since I haven't finish it yet due to me getting myself lost in the world when trying to do a main line quest.

Very interesting story with strong characters. Love game play and problem solving required to complete the various levels. Love that you can make saves to the game mid-level so you do not have to start from the beginning all over again.
