Another Epic Legend of Zelda Game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild breaks away with the linearity of previous games and thrusts link into a massive open world. This game is a masterpiece with plenty of locations to explore and lots of things to discover.

A beautiful and impressive launch title
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you picked up a Switch at launch, or plan on getting one, this is a perfect example of what the system is capable of. A beautiful world, engaging story and well-executed combat system. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

Excellent entry in an excellent series.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I have always adored the Zelda series, the recent entries have failed to capture the magic of finding secrets and discovering treasures that the series was known for in its early days. This game captures that essence perfectly. Being the first truly open world Zelda game since the orignal and to some extent A Link to the Past, the game feels like a love letter to long time fans as it perfectly creates the feeling that made the original great, while modernizing other aspects of gameplay such as combat and world design. While some fans may miss the classic design of some of the more well-known games in the franchise (linear progression with large themed dungeons being the main focus), this new take on a Legendary series is certainly not one to be missed, even by new Zelda players.

Must own
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda is one of the greatest franchises of all time. And set the standard for third person combat. The lock on camera / combat you see in Assassins Creed, Dark Souls, GTA, etc? was all thanks to Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Breath of the Wild went back to its roots of Zelda 1 and is a non liner, fully open world game. It's a breath of fresh air the series needed after the very liner cinematic Skyward Sword. The Combat is simple (sadly ditching Twilight Princess' combo system) but very fun. You can climb anything. ANYTHING. More open world games need that. You have to wear clothing the suits the harsh weather Cook meals from items you find throughout the world that give status effects (stronger attacks, temporary health / stamina boost) Find and tame wild horses to make traversing Hyrule faster. Really awesome additions to the series! But the best (and worst) thing about this game is it's open world. First time playing, it's an amazing experience discovering a ruined Hyrule. But once you have discovered everything and replay, you realize how empty the world is. (Might have been on purpose) There is little to no replay value, especially since the story is nearly nonexistent (and the voice acting is horrendous.) Most side missions are just fetch quests... Another thing Zelda is known for is its music and dungeons. There are only 5 dungeons that all look the same (except for Hyrule Castle) and the music... after 400 hours, I only recall hearing 3 songs: Hyrule castle, Dodongo fight and Ganon fight. Overall: as a Zelda game? It's okay but as it's own game it's really something amazing. A must own.

Awesome Game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My whole family loves this game! The wide open world to explore is fun for even the younger ones, however it is definitely better suited for the 10+ crowd due to the difficulty of some of the quests and challenges.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one is a must have for all the Zelda fans. The graphics, the gameplay and the story are really amazing. This one is an exclusive for the Nintendo and is partially why I bought the system. Worth every penny!

Quite possibly the best Zelda game yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.EDGE magazine gave this game a 10/10 and said it was quite possibly the best Zelda game yet. I have to agree wholeheartedly. I've easily sunk over 60 hours into the game with much more to go. The game is unmatched when it comes to modern open world RPGs. It's been at least a decade since I've seen an open world where quests don't take the forefront and exploration is rewarded. No matter what you find yourself doing in Breath of the Wild, you will be enjoying yourself and constantly discovering new things that you can do. The physics based engine and carefully crafted shrines and environments allow multiple ways to accomplish nearly all of the puzzles and challenges in the game. Do yourself a favor and pick up this game if you picked up the switch. You will not regret it.

Zelda meets open world
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game, there is a lot of things to say about it. But first and foremost, it lives up to the title "The Legend of Zelda". With a more human approach to character designs and the almost post-apocalyptic feel of the game. It's easy to see that Ganon had won the battle but the war was still open to debate. The combat in Zelda is something I had not seen in the serious before. More than just a single sword/shield, it was about tactics. Blocking too much can cause your shield to shatter, fighting the same monster from before (but now has a steel weapon) will kill you. You. Will. Die. I can not recommend this game enough, as a launch title it sets a standard that other developers will find daunting. Especially in 2017, this will be a hard game to beat in terms of gameplay.

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With this game being the flagship game for the new console I expected it to be pretty good and I was not disappointed. It captures the exploration aspect of the original very well and expands it to this generation of gameplay.

A huge game where you can do anything.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you can think of it, you can do it, within the universe of the game. "Say, I know I can ride a horse--can I ride this deer?" Yes. Not required to have played previous games, and by far the best I've ever played. No barriers to picking it up for the first time but rewards for practice. Everyone I know has put in over 100 hours of gameplay, and the limits are that of your imagination. Follow the main quest or stare off into a direction and see what happens. It's great, but also overwhelming. It feels like a world as limitless as any, and it's equal parts great and scary. But give it a try! Some have called it the greatest game ever made.

This is definitely my favorite Zelda game to date
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely my favorite Zelda game to date. It's got beautiful graphics and excellent gameplay. This will be a game that I return to again and again after I've finished it. There is so much area to explore, and a lot of extras hidden throughout the game. I bought this to play on my Switch, and I feel like if you really want to put your new handheld device to the test, this is the game to do it with. Zelda: Breath of the Wild exceeds all my expectations. This game also looks superb when you've docked your Switch and are playing on the big screen.

Just...amazing...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are no words to describe how amazing this game is. Last game I completed in LOZ was a link to the past. I couldn't love the rest. But this game...I can't put it down. Perfection may not be good enough to describe it...

A Reinvention of the Zelda Formula
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has had me hooked since I started playing. I'm a long-time Zelda fan and let me tell you, this game goes back to its roots with the original NES Zelda. You're freely to go anywhere you want, however, you may end up going into a difficult area! The combat is extremely brutal and unlike any past Zelda games! Some times you may be at full health and one little swing at you can kill you so you must learn enemy attack patterns and cook food/potions to give you defense. The exploration in this game is amazing. There are lots of quests to do, lots of weapons to collect, lots of shrines to complete, lots of items to collect (900 KOROK SEEDS!) so for the completiomist, expect to put in over 100 hours. The perfect game to play while you wait for more games to launch

best zelda since the first 3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a short attention span for video games anymore due to my adult life, so even classic Zelda titles like Ocarina of Time just don't work for me- by the time I'm really in the thick of playing what feels like a Zelda game (and not the introductory part of a Zelda game), I'm already burned out on it, and I just don't feel like the time investment is worth it. Not so here- the game lets you just 'play' almost right away, and the fantastic auto save allows for both experimentation and short-term play. Highly immersive, gigantic, and fun to play. Load times are longer than I'd like, but they're not awful and I probably see more of them because sometimes I think it's fun to try to throw myself into a dire situation and try a few times to fight my way out. Highly recommended.

Awesome Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game because someone left a rave review stating that this was the greatest game they have ever played. I 1000% agree. I can't write a review to do this game justice. Yes the game has beautiful graphics but the best part is the phenomenal level of freedom in play. There are such a wide variety of enemies, quests, shrine challenges, and you can pretty much complete them in whatever order you want. The level of detail is unparalleled. I wish I could play this game from the beginning again. Just buy it. You will not regret it.
