I'm a big fan of Zelda now playing this game. Use to play the old zelda games which was great but for a young kid I tend to lose interest after getting lost and didn't know what to do. This game however is amazing! it is a real open world that you can do so much. Whatever you want to do , wherever you want to go, however you want to do things, it is up to you! Story line is great and keeps you going and don't feel lost. You can decide to follow it at your own pace or just go on an adventure and solve the hundred of puzzles in the game. Definitely a game for all ages and controls are easy to pick up and understand. So much you can do!

Game of the Decade / Not a Zelda game

You start off with nothing, so you better R-U-N! Once you've gathered enough for basic survival (think Don't Starve), you'll find plenty to do but not much in the way of linear gameplay. It's an open world sandbox (think GTA) where you can run, jump (not a Zelda game) and climb seemingly anything. Some things early on will be incredibly difficult and eventually you'll find it it's because you did things in the wrong order. Buy it, play it but not until you have time to dedicate to it. It's a timesink but not in a grinding way, there is just so much content to explore.

It is still early going and I have much to do in Hyrule, but much of the initial buzz and critic sentiment seems to be warranted. This is indeed a masterpiece. The story, the sense of exploration, the expansive world before you, and the combat are first rate. Being able to play it anywhere on the Switch is the icing on the cake. Frame rate issues when docked for TV mode are noticeable to me, but seem to be missed by some. Will this rank as one of the all time greats? Only time and legacy will tell. I'll look to continue to battle Ganon's forces in what I believe so far is at least the best Zelda game since Ocarina of Time.

I've played through this game before and really enjoyed it. I bought a copy for my young nephew, and he is enjoying it too. This game is built on discovery and exploration and using whatever material you find in order to defeat enemies and complete the goals of the game. If you have never played a Zelda game before, this is a good place to start.

Bought this a long time ago and it's still really fun to come back to every now and again. The story is rich as you find bits and pieces scattered about the huge map. The combat is challenging (and sometimes a little annoying with the weapon durability but what can ya do). Puzzles are pretty interesting and there's plenty of them. It's also fun to mess around with the physics of the game and do cool or silly tricks. Overall a fantastic game. But everyone knew that already

This is one of the best Zelda games of all time. When you first play it you will get lost in the world and spend hours just exploring before you even attempt the games main story. This is an open world masterpiece that shows off the amazing potential of the Switch and how great looking Hyrule looks. This game also has a great story. This is not only one of the best Switch games but also one of the best games of all time. This is a MUST BUY for EVERYONE even if you don't like Zelda.

I love zelda games but none of them were as good as Ocarina of Time until now. Very large map filled with a lot of content and attention to details. Its not some randomly generated large map that feels repetitive after awhile. The issue i find is not so much getting bored but not being able to decide what to do next! The puzzle are challenging but fun, as are the enemy encounters. My 3 year old can even play and just explore the areas, even if he dies its not a major set back. You will die in this game, a lot. All in all I'm afraid of beating it because I dont think we'll see another game this good in a long time.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the first game I bought for the Nintendo Switch and I am loving it. The music goes along very well with what you are experiencing in the game. The combat aspect of the game is outstanding. The land of Hyrule is very expansive with many things to do. There are over 100 shrines to discover, explore, and solve. There are also Korok seeds that need to be collected, there are 900 Korok seeds to find, so, good luck! The story is very long and is very satisfying when you complete it. This game is so much fun and a blast to play.

Got this when it was on sale for $45.00 dollars recently and I must say, I am impressed with the graphics of this game! I don't play Zelda....but my boyfriend does and while watching him play, I can tell why everyone seemed to really like this game. The graphic is simply gorgeous and many effort and hours were put into the game for this to look so stunning. I'm sure you already heard all the great things online but I had to say something as well. I really love that it is an open world. Not many games possessive this right now (like Splatoon, Mario, Kirby, etc). I enjoyed where you were able to explore the world outside and did things at your own pace. However, there was some things that were difficult like the fightings and tasks sometimes. Don't get me started on Link's stamina. It sucks. Seriously, how can you be tired after running a few feet? My grandma who is 70 years old with a cane can limp faster then Link's stamina without breathing harshly. And his weapons (in the beginning of the game) was not only hard to get but breaks very easily as well. My baseball bat can probably done a better job then his (after a good 15-25 hits, his weapons break). Overall, as many people said online, it's a great game that would keep you entertained for hours. It sucks it's only for one player but I enjoyed watching the gameplay and such as well.

It's a game that changes up the traditional formula with a huge open world with plenty to do as you travel across it. There are some minor survival elements such as durability, food recipes, elixirs, etc. Traditional Zelda dungeons are noticeably missing which may turn off purists, however there are 120 trials scattered across Hyrule, 4 racial dungeons with amazing puzzles, and 1 large final dungeon that will impress. The story is a beautifully deep and personal, minor characters are also very fun and quirky, and bosses will put you to the test. A must buy for any Switch owner!

When I first started playing this game I was taken aback by how different it was from any other Zelda game. I was honestly a bit insulted that they'd put the name Zelda on this game. Weapons break, there's armor, there are no dungeons, and it just felt wrong. After I got used to the original shock of those differences however, I couldn't put it down! This game is beautiful, has a very intriguing story, lots of customization, and while it doesn't quite feel like Zelda, it is a LOT of fun! I would definitely recommend it, as it is very very easily the best game on the Switch right now.

This is probably one of the best Zelda games of the franchise to date. With very open and scenic places to explore, every time you play you'll learn something you can do. I barely scratched the surface of the main story due to all the exploring I've done. This is a very open Zelda game like its original. If you have the time to put in more than 100+ hours into a video game, want to explore the ruins of hyrule, go on your own adventures, then this is the game to get!

I have long been a fan of the ale gene of Zelda series but sort of lost interest around the time of Windwaker. This game is massive and exciting. I love the story and they don't baby you in the slightest. In fact we finally have a real challenge in that your weapons and armor can break and running out of stamina can be fatal at the wrong time. The world is yours to explore any way you like and the shrines are so fun to try and conquer. Some of the puzzles are surprisingly clever with their use of physics. You sometimes really need to rethink how you approach a puzzle.

Zelda games have always been an innovative and epic Nintendo franchise. It seems as if every new Zelda game that is released is better than the next. Zelda: BOTW offers plenty of hours of game-play thru side quest, the main quest, and just exploring the game world. Exploration in Zelda: BOTW is probably my favorite thing to do; running around the landscape and discovering new areas is always a good time. The graphics are really nice, and the story is very interesting. The game has runes (skills) to unlock which adds new ways of playing the game.

Unlike most people who grew up playing video games, I've never really played a Zelda game. I bought a Switch because of the amazing 1st party titles, including this. The game is challenging but fun. The open world is huge and beautiful. The story is good, but is told through a series of flashbacks. I would say that 1st time players could easily jump into this title, as it seems the developers revolutionized the Zelda series with this title in order to draw to a new generation of fans. This is the perfect title for newcomers.

This game needs no introduction. It’s a saga we all know and love, but reimagined in a very unexpected way. The story is very captivating, the missions are exciting with a great level of challenge, and it sucks you into their world. You have to have some skill, but it’s very forgiving if you’re not a big gamer. If you like the freedom and flexibility of an open world, it is a game to be lost in for hundreds of hours. Truly amazing!

Im pleasantly surprised how much I love this game. The way things work in this game is like real life. And can be strange that it actually works in a game. If you are cold you can have fire near you to warm up. Not enough stamina to cross a lake? Cut a tree down and push it out half way so you have somewhere to rest. The only thing I REALLY hate about this game. Is how easy your weapons break. That part is annoying. And some places the framerate drops. But not that often. LOVE this game. oh and the story is average. not the best but not terrible.

Breath of the Wild is a fun game for everyone! A few years later, the game is still a fun game to play to this day even if you aren't playing the sequel: TOTK. It's a different Zelda game than the others and the first to be open world within the series. If you don't have the game yet, what are you waiting for? I'm already around 100+ hours even playing the second time! It's a must have!
