So far I've loved this game, and I've been playing it for hours daily since release. Being a completionist I've still got a while yet before I'll even consider the game beat (I want to discover all shrines and all the seeds), but going through the story itself and killing Ganon still took me a few days. If you like Zelda, but enjoy more open world games this is a must. Not even saying you need a switch, get it on wii u if you can (might even be better since you have access to the map/menu at all times). I will say that nothing about this game is super challenging though, so if you enjoy hard games this might disappoint a little. They will be adding hard mode later on, but that is months away, and I have the sneaking suspicion it might be DLC only which I hope isn't the case (so far this game is the only DLC I've ever bought in my life, but I will be the first to admit I'm a Zelda fan boy for better or worse).

Excellent game! This is the first Legend of Zelda game I've played since Twilight Princess and I'm enjoying it a whole lot. It's not as story focused as Twilight Princess, but it's still an interesting story. The gameplay is addicting and a bit different than past games. Weapons have durability and can break after extended use, there are more environmental hazards like freezing weather or scorching heat depending on the region, cooking food can provide buffs, and armor sets also provide buffs. It can be a bit overwhelming at first because you're thrust into the world and are free to explore it entirely. I've read you can even head straight for the final boss and take him on. I would definitely recommend this game.

We've been waiting for this game for a while now. It is finally out and doesn't disappoint. It does feel like a different take on the Zelda series since there are a few changes made to the gameplay that are both great and not so great. While everyone will be talking about how good it is (you can read other reviews for those), I'll instead talk about the annoying elements I had issues with. The stamina meter being the big thing. Getting stuck in the middle of the river and not being able to swim or climb certain areas without you losing all your stamina and having to restart can get frustrating. Link also traverses those really slow. Durability on weapons also is something I don't care for. Sure it makes it more realistic, but still annoying nonetheless. Aside from those minor issues, overall, it is an excellent game and it is no wonder why it is one of highest rated games thus far from reviews.

This game is amazing. Starts from story, to gergous graphic to vase beautiful word of Hyrule to explore and sight see. Has a lot of replay values and plenty of puzzles to solve. Must have for Zelda fans. Every switch owner should give this game a shot.

I am a huge fan of all Zelda games in the series. However, you don't need to play the previous titles to enjoy this game since it's got a story of its own and YOU can pretty much play the game however way you like. The engine created for Breath of the Wild is absolutely phenomenal. There are so many different ways to reach a goal. This game will have you thinking outside of the box and you will always be discovering new things. There is a massive open world to explore and lots of things you can collect. I also love all the outfits you can get and customize with colors. It's simply a masterpiece and everyone should play it no matter your age. The DLC also adds a lot more content on top of the base game which I also think is well worth it. Seriously, if you're thinking of buying a Switch or own a Switch, getting this game is a must.

Every Switch should come bundled with this game, because you’re just going to wind up buying it anyway and dropping 100+ hours into the best experience of this console generation. At this point it’s two years old, but it remains incredible, not just as the probable best ever entry into the Zelda series (Ocarina fanboys get @ me) but as a phenomenal game in its own right. I’m jealous of 10 year olds for whom this will be their first Zelda game, as I couldn’t imagine a better, more fun, or playfully challenging entry to the gaming universe. Put down your Fortnites and your Call Of Duties and get down to business in Breath of the Wild, gliding around with wild abandon for no real reason, dropping bombs on Chu Chu’s, and playfully bantering with a few friendly Gorons.

Back story. I wasn't a massive fan of the Zelda series. My favorites from them all have been the first 3. I also wasn't a fan of Skyrim. I thought it was too wide open and could be boring to play at times. With that out of the way. There is just something about this game, a charm about it, that keeps you coming back. There is so much to do and to be done as well as so many different ways to do one thing. Nintendo has really got a masterpiece on their hands. The story is as great as is put out to be. Nothing disappoints. I've tried finding an issue with the game itself and I really can't.. The only issue I see is the some what unfortunate situation that not all are able to enjoy this game just yet due to Switch supply issues. This is a must own for anyone who owns a Switch. Whether your a Zelda fan or not you will certainly enjoy the various bits of this game making it well worth the price.

Long time fan of the series here. A Link to the Past was my first Zelda game, and for the longest time it was my all-time favorite. I've only played a few hours of BotW and I already know it's going to be at the top of the list by the time I'm finished. This is an open world game with incredible attention to detail. It's impossible to follow a linear path, because there's so many cool things to do, nice stuff to see, and interesting puzzles to solver at every turn. Getting lost and wandering the world in this game is the best open-world sandbox experience I've had in any game since GTA: San Andreas. The controls are super easy to pick up and learn if you have any experience with 3D games at all. If not, there might be a bit of a learning curve, but it doesn't get much better than this for a first time 3D experience either. 10/10 would buy again.

Like others have said, this is truly the best game I've ever played. So beautiful and relaxing, but also plenty of thrilling combat opportunities and puzzles. After hundreds of hours I still haven't quite finished the main storyline because I don't want it to be over, and there's more than enough to explore still to keep me occupied in the meantime. No other game has even come close to the sheer exhilaration I felt every time I crested a hill and discovered a stunning new region or town. I'd give anything to play this for the first time again.

I have been eyeing this game for a while and finally decided to buy it when it went on sale during black friday. I am so glad i did. I have spend just over 200 hours playing so far and it has still kept me entertained. the graphiscs are still very nice to look at and i feel that they haven't aged at all. Gamewise, this is an open world playthrough FYI. it is not everyones taste but still has a somewhat linear approach to the goals you have to complete, if you even choose to! i am sure i will have many more hours of playthrough left and am thinking of getting the DLCs as well. highly reccomend

This game is pure bliss, there's barely any hand holding and it looks amazing on the Nintendo Switch. I have always heard of how great Legend of Zelda games were, but never really played any as my family never got the games when I was younger. But since I am older now and actually bought a Nintendo Console for myself, I wanted to check what the buzz about this series was. I can say after putting over 30 hours so far into this game that I am already loving it and want to play all the previous titles just to experience them for the first time. If you're hesitant on this game, watch some reviews. If you love open world role playing games, this will be up your alley as the sense of exploration and feeling of defeating a difficult enemy with your skillset is satisfying. Highly recommend this game to anyone even if you have never touched a previous Legend of Zelda title, like myself.

BotW is immersive as it is beautiful. Well crafted with an interesting story line and open world to match. I like the details that go in the game. Day and night, temp variations, consumables, gear durability and of course the puzzles. Another hit from Nintendo.

This is hands down the best Legend of Zelda game I have played in a long time — may have finally dethroned Ocarina of Time as the best ever in my mind. The open world Hyrule is unbelievably vast, and you will constantly find new side quests and Easter eggs from previous games. The shrines are easier than temples from previous Zelda games; however, the quantity and puzzle-like nature of the shrines create an almost Sid Meier’s Civilization-like addiction of “just one more and then I’ll quit for the night.” The Divine Beasts are also easier in my opinion, but this allows the gameplay to be completely non-sequential, freeing you to tackle any of them in practically any order. Overall a fantastic game and must have on the Switch

This game is not only the best Zelda game but I could easily make the case that it is the best game of all time in it's genre. The open world concept has never been done as well as this and you can easily forget that you are in a game with any boundaries and yet every square inch of the world has it's own unique features. The game play is addicting, complicated, and allows for variation in difficulty for players with different skill sets. This game can easily occupy the completionist for more than 200 hours. More casual players will spend at least 60-100 exploring and completing the game. The $20 DLC is well worth it too, it adds another solid 20-40 hours of game play. It doesn't pack the dollar for dollar punch that the main game does at $60 for 200 hours but $20 for 20-40 is definitely worth it and highly recommended. ENJOY!

The worldbuilding in this game is unparalleled and by far the best the franchise has ever seen. The world is massive and begging to be explored, with distinct biomes that blend into one another beautifully. It's a size and scope the franchise has never seen and it really brings Hyrule to life. However, there are some drawbacks as well. The open world formula tends to ruin the flow of storytelling, and this is no exception. Speaking of the story, it's a fairly weak story by franchise standards. It's got most of the textbook Zelda story components, but the dungeons were lackluster and largely void of character and the newly implemented shrines can be fun and interesting, but also grow tedious after a while. All in all, this is a phenomenal game and well worth your money, but you should go into it fully aware that the game is not perfect.

Well, there's been a ton of reviews out there telling how great Breath of The Wild is, and they go into much more detail. However, I simply want to say that the open world direction is appreciated. I think the graphics are great, given the power of the Switch and look great on TV and in portable mode. Sometimes the frame rate drops a bit, but for the most part it is consistent. The character models look great -they are simple and do not require too much detail. The gameplay is fun,and intuitive. It is not perfect, however. Just like most Action RPGs out there, can get a bit repetitive. Also, the weapon system is a bit annoying, especially if you have a acquired a special weapon, since it will eventually break. But other than that, it is a great addition to the Legend of Zelda series (my favorite one is Wind waker). Highly recommended.

A sprawling adventure unlike any other, Breath of the Wild redefines what an open-world game can be. From the moment you step onto the vast plains of Hyrule, you're captivated by a world brimming with life, secrets, and endless possibilities. This isn't just another Zelda game; it's an experience that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

I've always loved a good Zelda game, whether I've had the system it was on or played it on a console owned by friends or family. This, without a doubt, is the absolute definition of not only a great Zelda game, but an absolute system seller. This is something that would've made the Wii U a system seller if it wasn't released after production was stopped. But as a launch title for the Switch, Nintendo really hit the ground running. It's beautiful and expansive. There's always more to discover. And it's just going to be growing more. It's also difficult and is one of the few games that consistently gets the open world model right. Everything you do feels like it's just adding to your preparedness for the endgame rather than feeling like a distraction, which is something that a lot of open world games struggle with. Get the Switch and get this game.
