I bought this for my son, 6, who loves it. He is a little young for it, he plays it with guidance (ie advice from me and friends) but the game is beautiful to look at and a huge world to explore.

Great game. Great mix of traditional Legend of Zelda mechanics with open world gameplay and modern RPG elements. Must own/play game for all who own a switch

This game is quite a bit different from the Zelda formula, but has a lot to appreciate for both veterans to the series as well as people who have never played it before. Arguably the best open-world game to date.

Definitely another quality AAA game for Nintendo. The controls are smooth, the story is engrossing, and the open world is a paradise! Highly suggest anyone add this to their next Christmas or birthday list.

Greatest Thing I have ever Bought!

I had a preorder at GameStop and canceled it thinking it really wasn't worth the trouble of buying a new console and I could just buy Breath Of The Wild on the Wii U. I watched trailers and thought is it worth it? I mean I thought about the same thing when I was going to buy Fire emblem Fates Special edition... I waited till last minute and saw no one else was selling it. I contemplated for about a week and the more I talked it out with my friends the more my friends and I wanted the console. I left class and camped out of Best buy for a good 12-13 hours and in the end when I went home to set it up. It was amazing. I do recommend it to anyone who really wants to play the new console and isn't afraid of spending a good amount of money.

I never liked Zelda games in the past, but this one blew me away. I have not even touched another game yet for the system. The story, music, controls, gameplay, and variety of challenges are all top notch.

Absolutely enthralled by this game. It's deep, massive and insanely fun. You could visit every inch of the map and miss a lot of the game because many things are in-game time sensitive. At first I found the lack of linear progression overwhelming, but it's both refreshing and nostalgic to go back to the original design after so many years. The tutorial is short and many game mechanics are not explained, which makes you more line up with the amnesia-ridden Link. You're discovering how to survive in his world just as he has to. If you can't handle the endless exploration and discovery, there are countless blogs, websites and YouTube "celebrities" more than happy to do the work for you, let you skip what you paid for and just win.

Full disclosure, I'm a 44 yr old father of 2 who is a lifelong Zelda fan. This ain't a "game" by any means, this is simply put, like being transported to another world. You can lose yourself easily, and I think thats what the creators had in mind when they developed it. As has been written in other reviews, the world map or playable area is absolutely MASSIVE and summons you to explore every single square inch of it. Fair warning, this is not a title that you can simply play for 15-20 minutes and get anything of note accomplished towards completion. Once you start this up you better have at least an hour to spare before getting to whatever else you have planned for the day. This is an absolute MUST BUY for any Nintendo Switch owner.

Literally, no words can describe this game. The scenery is beautiful, the game dynamics is great. The open world is such a big change and as a long time Legend of Zelda fan, it's amazing and I love it.

Best Zelda since Ocarina of Time and I’ve been a fan since the original came out. Great art style and massive world. Picked up for my Switch Lite and couldn’t be happier with both!

Despite being impressed with the new games produced every year, I find myself hardly playing any. I wasn't sure about picking this game up due to that reason, but on a hunch I tried it out anyway. This game is incredible. The ability to explore every object you see in the distance, and the new battle mechanics that don't rely solely on perfect timing in order to strike work incredibly well together. The quirky side characters in the story are very enjoyable as well, leaving me with a good time whether I'm merely climbing a mountain range I spotted in the distance or enjoying the main story of the game itself. I would certainly recommend this game for anyone that enjoys gaming, or finds them self interested in trying this game out.

Controls are going to be very difficult. Game will not give you many instructions. Pay attention to little things, gusts of wind, direction of son, were the birds fly, etc. This game is hard. Not a children's game. Never played Zelda before but needed a game for the system. It's really really good, but if you not ready you will hate it. Don't let if turn you off of the system. The game itself is fun once you get used to it. Just explore, forget the story till you are as strong as can be.

I bought this for our 9 year old son and he loves it. He has played through the game, in it's entirety, 2 times now. I have watched him playing it many times, and it really is a great game. Definitely a departure from other Zelda games of the past as this one is a more open world adventure. But, there is a reason why this game consistently rates as one of the best games around, on any system. As a dad, I like that there's nothing in the game that is overly violent or that I would consider inappropriate for kids. I would highly recommend this game. You really can't go wrong.

This game was the very reason I bought my switch. It allows for many different play styles and the player can set their own pace and explore different areas on their own time. I've logged well over 300 hours into this game and the only other game that has beat that time is Animal Crossing New Horizons. I will say that Ganon is getting easier and easier to defeat, but I still enjoyed the music, the art, and the little quirky characters scattered throughout the land. This definitely held nostalgic elements of old zelda games, but still captured a great sense of wonder to be able to explore such a large area.
