Love the open world concept. Graphics are beautiful. Can taylor your game play based of time you have to play, explore, go for a boss fight or just go catch a new horse.

I'm a sucker for the old Zelda like style used is just about every single Zelda game before this one, the formula was great in letting you have a general amount of freedom. In Breath of the Wild, though, all chains are off and you're free to take on the world at your own pace. What's better is the crazy physics stuff you can play with in BotW as well: Stasis a boulder, whack it a few times, jump on and you'll be flying your own personal boulder on your way to better and crazier things.
Story beats are meh, it's your typical Zelda story with some mediocre voice acting but that's not what you come to Zelda for, right?

I can't stress enough how truely amazing this game is. I have always enjoyed the Zelda franchise but after using the same formula for so many years, the games started feeling like a repeat. This games takes everything you know about Zelda and turns it upside down. It's a gorgeous game with and insanely huge landscape to explore. It's engaging, fun and even emotional at times. It's also more difficult than Zelda games in the past. You'll definitely spend a lot of time with this game and get your money's worth.

The story of this game (though this will be unpopular) is not great... That being said, that is not what makes this game. This game is about exploration, encountering a problem, and asking yourself, "How can I get around this?" If you can think it, it can probably be done.
This takes the open world mechanic and turns it on its head. You have the intent to go to your "marker" but there is something that always pops up in your line of sight that makes you ask, "hmmm, I should go check that out."
Know that the dungeons and the story are not what make this game special - it is the environment and mechanics.

I love video games, I have never played any Zelda games though. My husband wanted the Switch and Breath of the Wild. He stood in line and everything. Now he and 3 of the kids are totally into this game. They play it all the time and talk about how amazing it is. So I am basing my review on that. We own every game console there is, and right now this is the only thing anyone wants to play. I also had to buy a ton of Amiibos for it, some from past games. I just handle the money, but apparently the work for this game too. Something about getting money and Epona? Anyway, give it a try if you don't enjoy conversating with your family. :P

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY THIS GAME.
HOLY CR@p!!! Up until now, you have never played anything like this. Up until now you have played linear and semi-linear game play.
This is a "go anywhere" do anything game. See that tree over there? GO CLIMB IT. Run across the vista, climb up rocks.
This is a MIND BOGGLING GAME. The colors, the graphics, the whole thing. Absolutely amazing.
If you like to "Lose yourself" in a game this is the one. Wow.
These are ARTISTS.

This game got me back into gaming. I Love the puzzles and open world of this game. Do not buy this game if you expect to have a life for the next few weeks.

I have played Zelda since the original on Nintendo when I was 4 and then fell in love with Ocarina of Time on N64 and am a die hard fan. OOT was always going to be my favorite game ever. Majoras Mask and Twilight Princess were great games, but had nothing on OOT. Breath of the Wild is next level. If you love playing Zelda or RPGs even a little bit, this game is for you. I spent 100+ hours playing to beat it (you could do less, but I enjoy exploring) and I could play another hundred hours and continue to find new quests to tackle. This game is a masterpiece.

I loved Zelda on 64, but this is completely different. It's incredibly challenging, you have to worry about overheating, freezing, durability of weapons. Great game!

Unlike any Zelda before it. This game is huge and lots of fun. Not a lot of direction, but allows you to explore. As you play you get better. Actually well worth the $60.

The world just feels like it keeps going. There are plenty of challenging battles and quests but there are also wide plains and dense forests to get lost in.
