I am an "old school" gamer, my favorite Zelda's are the original on NES, A Link to the Past on SNES, and Ocarina of Time for N64. I'm only 7-8 hours in to BotW so far, but I can already tell that this will be up there with my favorites. This game is extremely open world, so much so that some may not like the lack of any linearity. However, once you get over the overwhelming feeling and realize that this game is not designed to be beaten in one week, you'll embrace the exploration and open ended-ness. Graphics and sound are great, especially in portable mode, and the controls are easy to pick up. Enjoy!

Was bought as a gift for grandson, but had to return because he just got one as a graduation present.
Grandson loves Zelda all he wants to do is play Zelda.
I love watching him play he gets so excited.

I was late to this game and boy have I been missing out. The hype for BOTW is accurate. Gameplay is what you would expect from a Nintendo produced produce. Tight, intuitive and minute by minute fun to be had. Graphics are incredible considering how many years ago this was released.
Other open world games may have more details but this has an atmosphere and heart (hearts?) that can’t be matched.
It’s family friendly if you have kiddos.

This game departs significantly from the traditional Zelda formula, but it is nonetheless an absolutely fantastic an open-world adventure. It is not my favorite Zelda game (I still like the traditional format), but it is definitely one of my favorite open-world games and has great replay value. The flexibility and seemingly endless possibilities for creativity and play style make this a unique addition to the Zelda library and a must-have for any fan of the genre.

Zelda: BOTW is one of the best games of the past decade. The open world is filled with endless things to do and I haven't had this much fun with a game in a while.

Easily the best Zelda game in the series. While it takes the Zelda formula and mixes it up a good bit with open world game play and very challenging gameplay, it stays true to its roots in many ways.
For amiibo collectors out there, this game supports them in a great way. There are many items that can only be obtained via amiibos - this is both good and bad.
Regardless of whether you are a long time fan or just looking for a good game on the Switch, this is easily a must have for any Switch collection.

This is hands down the best game I played in 2017. The exploration, combat, and puzzles are excellent. I'm a huge Zelda fan and this game did not disappoint.

I'm still playing the game but to be honest, I there hasn't been a game that has been on my mind constantly. This game is beautiful, engaging, and importantly - fun. Controls can be a bit messy, still is. I haven't been able to have a complete grasp of it. I'm constantly hitting the wrong buttons. That aside, it's an easy recommendation and it being on switch, I haven't taken it off handheld mode.

This is by far the most expansive and open Zelda game to date. Tons of fun exploring at your own pace and the ability to solve puzzles by using your imagination.

I LOVE Zelda games. I also really like open world games. If only I had enough time to enjoy them. Zelda BotW is so well done, I find myself MAKING time to enjoy it. If you are into open world videogames at all, you will love this one. Is it as deep as Skyrim, or as intricate as Fallout - probably not, but it's easy to get into, looks amazing, plays great, has an ok story, and keeps you hooked. If you dislike open world games, or have ZERO time to spend with a long videogame - this might not be for you. For people that can make time, and like an open world experience, it's fantastic.
A must purchase! You won’t regret picking this up.

I’m a big fan of story driven games. It’s a plus to get a game with such open world dynamics and great story to support that. Hoping we get more of this.
