Imagine the first Zelda game, with its freedom to explore, get lost, and be overwhelmed. Imagine the devs of BotW took that spirit of exploration, made a spiffy big 3D world with a minimalistic tutoral compared to other recent 3D Zelda games and let players do things on their terms with the tools provided. Rock climbing is possible. Running nearly naked through the snow is possible. Glitching through walls is possible if you know what you're doing. Rushing the final boss soon after the tutorial is also possible. And so on.

I was absolutely blown away by this game. It's extremely vast and open. You can get lost in the world and since the missions aren't really linear you have a unique experience compared to your friends. Beautiful game, I still play it even after beating it.

This is a huge open world game. Expect to explore and experiment a lot. The fights are challenging and you'll often find yourself underprepared when you see new enemys. It looks great on the Switch, but it is a battery hog (about 3 hours at full charge).

Love the game! I like that I can do whatever I want, regardless of the storyline.

This game is amazing. It's beautiful and It's so fun I just could not put it down. I love going around and exploring and doing the side quests. The gameplay changed things up from previous Zelda games and its great. The music is fantastic. It's just a great game. I love it.

Zelda has always turned out great games even for the original Nintendo back in the day. This game continues that trend and I would recommend this game as one of the 1st each person owning a Nintendo switch should look to purchase.

Absolutely phenomenal game. An open world game designed around exploration based on visuals. Very little (but still occasional) FPS drops compared to Wii U version. If you're playing in TV mode keep in mind that unlike the Wii U version there's no way to use headphones.

This game deserves all the rewards it received. Everything you expect of a excellent Zelda game. It's beautiful visuals. Great gameplay. You overall enjoy the game from start to finish.

I loved Zelda on the N64 so I had to try this one. There are so many ways to play. My kids and I all have a profile and we each have found different items and monsters the others have not but at the same point in the game. Its really fun so I recommend it for sure

One of the most fun games I have played in the Switch. Great open-world fun with many areas to explore. Definitely add this to your list!

I just started playing this on my new Oled Switch for the first time, and it really is as good as the reviews say. I am two hours into the game and cannot wait to get back to it.

One of the most enjoyable Zelda games I’ve ever played. There’s so much to keep you occupied. You can play this for months and it does not get repetitive. It’s a keeper.

Awesome game full of surprises and adventure. Hyrule looks amazing and could be compared to GTA but family friendly although the puzzles may be too difficult for younger players.

I purchased this game in anticipation of finding a Nintendo Switch. It took a few weeks, but I finally have one. I played this game for hours after I got the Switch home. This game lives up to all the hype. It's literally the best game for the Switch console right now.

I just started playing it, over all so far it’s been fun, you all ways have something to do and it’s challenging. Nothing compared to most games now a day that you will finish in 3-5 days. This game takes time and it will not bore you along the way.

Great game. Once you get over the weapon degradation system you will realize that you get more weapons than you can carry. So much to do and everything is gorgeous. Thought Horizon would be the best thing I play this year but then I picked this gem up. Don’t miss it.

Lots of things to do so you tend to get sidetracked and feel like you didn't get much done in the 2 hours of play. Just makes it a game I'll be playing for quite sometime though, and that's not a bad thing.

I grew up playing the original Zelda at a friend's house, and I loved it so much. Didn't think game would capture the spirit or be as much fun. So wrong! It's expansive world is fun to explore on a TV or the Switch's screen.
