Wow...just wow. I just finished the "intro" area and I'm already hooked. The amount of detail that went into the design of this game is astounding. If it's cold out...Link will freeze to death unless he eats spicy food (which you have to cook) or he's wearing warm clothes. The opposite is true as well. Monsters become more active at night so you have the option to build a campfire and hang out by it until the morning (game time, not real). There's so much to explore in this open world that you could spend the first several hours of play exploring and finding ingredients for cooking, gear, etc. While some may gripe about the stamina and health system...I personally find that it adds one more degree of detail and realism to the game. I mean...what person can sprint, swim, or climb a mountain endlessly without tiring? The combat system takes a little getting used to, but once that happens, there are many ways to take out an enemy...or enemies (yes, sometimes monsters will call close-by companions to gang up on you). The shrines, while critical in of themselves in order to buff your life and stamina, are a lot of fun because of the puzzles that must be solved in order to complete them. The only complaint I have so far is that there wasn't an in-game tutorial that shows how to cook (a crucial skill in this game). I had to Google it but five minutes later I had used all my ingredients and made some helpful recipes (see above on cold areas). Also...I wish the battery on my Switch lasted longer so I could play more. Currently having withdrawals until I can get home and charge up! Seriously...if you're a Switch owner and haven't played this...you're missing out.

This game is getting basically universal praise and it deserves it. I am stunned at what they have achieved on such a small system. It is adventurous, action filled, silly/quirky, filled with puzzles and challenging, sometimes sad, sometimes scary. It is graphically beautiful. Aside from very infrequent, very minor frame rate drops it is flawless. Nintendo will make a comeback with the switch and this game will help carry it.

Just getting around to playing this game now, and wow, it's great! Large open world with so much to do and explore. Due to how much I'm enjoying this game, I'll definitely be getting ToTK soon!

I finally got a Switch Oled and the first game I tried was BOTW. Pretty much everything's been said but what I like is that this game is literally perfect for me. I absolutely love games that involve tons of exploring and this is the ultimate. I've played Myst, Riven, and many other exploration games but this is so gargantuan in size, absolutely nothing compares to it. After spending many hours of playing there is so much left to play. The graphics are beautiful and it runs perfectly. The controls are great and the story is kind of how you make it. To be honest, I don't know how they got such a huge game on a little cartridge but they did it. When you think that this is the same price as other games but it's like getting 50 games in one. Amazing job and thanks!

First time playing a Zelda game, and I was glad I got it. Graphics are excellent, game play was very simple to pick up, and there was so much to explore. Looking forward to getting further along in the game.

I just finished the game! This was a very fun game and the graphics were amazing. The only downside is that this is the easiest Zelda game that I've played in my opinion. But other than that the open world aspect of this game, the great soundtrack, and the intriguing storyline makes it totally worth to buy for your first switch game.

I love the Legend of Zelda, I have been a fan since way back in 1986 when I first played LOZ. This game does not disappoint. If you are a Legend of Zelda fan or a fan of open world games, I suggest you give it a try, you won't be disapointed.

I loved Zelda and literally played it everyday for 30 days. I played all side quests from beginning until the end and never got bored with it. Gameplay is awesome, the graphics are very good and the open world works very well. Best game that I can remember playing to date.

I love this game. I have restarted multiple times and haven’t beaten it yet and I am still finding new things in this game. The open world is wonderful, it really feels like a world. The art and music is amazing each region has a unique feeling from the hot desert to the cold tundra to the forever autumnal Akala region. The people are 3 dimensional even simple nobody npcs. The battle system is easy to understand and you can use anything as a weapon. You can use a freakin ladle! Yes tings break but that’s realistic. You can use your runes for whatever. I do for battle. All in all amazing. I found only one thing flawed in this game. In two shrines (one in the hateno village I can remember where the other one is.) you have to use motion controls to solve it. The motion controls are…janky. Would recommend this game. Either on switch or on Wii U.

If you own a Switch this is a must have game, I may not have been much of a Zelda fan before but this game proved to me how amazing this franchise can be, from charming characters, entertaining trials, lovely story, and enemies that are both formidable and adorable, this game has tons of charm of its own to keep anyone coming back.

I've been playing Zelda games since Link to the past, and I've played every single game with the exception of the original NES games and Tri-force Heroes. I can honestly say that this game has kept me enthralled. Twilight Princess was my original favorite Legend of Zelda game, but by far this one takes the cake. Get it and play it!

Purchased during the pandemic. love it. played it 4 times and i still find something new i missed before such as hidden chests reviled by feeding the dogs at the stables

Long game, but the exploration is at least entertaining. My only complaint is that I "cannot" finish the game.

The perfect relax and escape game. The graphics and worlds are amazing and it plays so mellow compared to some of the more violent adventure games. Watched so many sunrises and sunsets and blew some stuff up. Couldn't be better.

This is probably my favorite installation of the Zelda franchise. There is so much to do in the game. at 100 hours in, I have beat Ganon, but only completed 35% of the game. Still plenty left to do and look forward to exploring the entire world.

It is Breath of the Wild. Of course it is 5 stars. Shipping was next day. Probably will buy the sequel.

This is a legend of Zelda game, that alone should be enough for me to buy the game. But this game take the series to a different level with a open world for you to explore, tons of secrets and puzzle to solve...

Excellent open world and tons of things to do while still maintaining that 'Zelda' feel. No big dungeons, but you hardly notice it.
