Definitive Open World Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went into this game with very high expectations after all of the reviews started going live for it and because I'm a huge Zelda fan. This game did not disappoint. It presents an open world that begs you to get lost in and rewards your exploration like only a Zelda game can. The characters are fantastic, the score is amazing and the gameplay is among the best that Zelda has had to offer. Tons of puzzles all over the map in the form of the shrines that each bring enough challenge to be fun and rewarding, but not so much that you would leave frustrated. The combat is very well rounded and mixes well with the environment to make almost every enemy encounter feel like a puzzle in it's own right. With the weapon durability system, you also get to constantly switch up your fighting styles by being forced to use a new weapon. If you are a Zelda fan or just a fan of open worlds in general, this game will offer you countless hours of entertainment.

Buy now for switch or wii u or both
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.open world, solid graphics, framerate drops are not a big issue, good replay value, lots of quests, tons of stuff to keep you busy if you want to complete 100%, several different ways to beat enemies and solve puzzles, and I believe it supports every single amiibo that is out (you may only get some food/fruit and rupees but it's still something)

Zelda meets Mini-Skyrim
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely loved this game! This has all the best things about Zelda: story, puzzles, and more quests than you can shake a stick at. The open world environment is pretty awesome and is definitely reminiscent of Skyrim just not quite as large. The weapon system was annoying at first but once you get used to it, it's not so bad.

Outstanding Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was never a big fan of the Legend of Zelda franchise however after playing this game I can safely say that all changes. This game features fantastic gameplay, an intriguing story, and an open world that never feels too overwhelming. Great for casual and hardcore gamers alike. One of Nintendo's best games since the N64 era. Highly Recommended!

Don't think, just buy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got my copy of Zelda and I love it. This title single handedly was the driving force for me getting a Nintendo Switch. I'm a lifelong gamer but haven't had a Nintendo Console since the Gamecube. Breath of the Wild is a top notch, open world, action-adventure game. There is tons to do in this game and the game is stuffed with character.

Legendary Epic Adventures in Hyrule
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Zelda: BOTW) is a brand-new take on the classic franchise. The biggest complaint I have about the game is the breaking weapons, but later on in the game it becomes slightly less of an issue. The scope of this project is amazing, the graphics are beautifully depicted. I was worried about the graphics looking cartoony as they did in the trailers, but that's really only the characters, and somehow it's fitting. There's quite a large learning curve to the combat system. While the controls are simple, it doesn't seem terribly easy to attack groups of multiple enemies early on when you're weak. One of my favorite features is the mounted combat, you can draw your weapon while riding a horse and lock-on to an enemy and your horse will automatically ride around them, automatically circling backing around for another pass to allow you to strike them. The puzzles in the various shrines around the world are fun, interesting, and challenging, and is essential to advancing Link's capabilities throughout the game. Overall the game offers a lot of depth and an interesting storyline, good gameplay mechanics, great sound/music, and another epic adventure as Link.

Great Open World Zelda
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the latest entry in Nintendo's popular The Legend of Zelda series. The game is available on both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U. I played every mainline Zelda game and was very excited to play this game. Breath of the Wild offers a large sandbox open world for players to explore and interact with. Players can choose to follow the main storyline or do other tasks/quests. There are some villages and towns with many NPCs to speak with and do side quests for. There are many items, weapons, and equipment to collect. In addition to swords, Link can also fight with axes, spears and bows. However, weapons now have durability and break quite frequently, which can be a bit annoying, but weapon drops are quite frequent. The story is on par with other Zelda games and isn't the main focus of this game. However, Breath of the Wild is the first Zelda game to feature full voice acted cutscenes.

Really Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not perfect, but all the good more than makes up for the bad. There are some frame rate dips and sometimes very low contrast scenes. Everything else about the gameplay is excellent and the amount of content is several times more than the typical Nintendo game. This barely displaces the SNES Zelda game as the best in the series in my opinion.

Breath Taking & Addicting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me preface this with the fact that I'm NOT a Zelda fan. I've played the original on the NES, played some of a Link to the Past on the SNES and tinkered with Twilight Princess. The only Zelda game I've played at length prior to BOTW was Wind Waker. I pre-order BOTW with the Switch since it was the hyped game at the console's launch. It didn't take long for me to be immersed in the open world of the game. Before long I was playing all night, 6-8 hours straight. I haven't played a game for that long since I was in college and I turn 40 in a few months! I have loved every minute of this game. The exploration, the puzzles, the action...it has it all. Even my 5 year old daughter loves sitting beside me to watch me play! I can see why this game is getting so much praise...it deserves it. Best game I've played in a very long time. I don't pay full price for many games, but this is one that is worth every penny.

Amazing experience!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game takes me back to my childhood. Not in the retro "I remember this" sense but the "Holy crazy, I'm immersed" sense. After completing the opening area the whole world is at your joycons. You get assigned the main objective from the start (no surprise, kill Ganon). I'll go out on a quest pursuing a main objective but will forget it along the way with side quests and AMAZING terrain that encourages exploration. I've gone 3 days without making progress on the main objective, not because I feel like I need to grind out the side missions, but because the side missions help me understand Link and the story at a greater depth. I have nothing bad to say about this game. NOTHING!!! I was concerned about weapons that are easily destroyed but I even love that now. Managing my weapons is something I actively have to do rather than have 2-3 main weapons I use which makes the gameplay far more diverse and entertaining. If you have a switch this is the only game you need in the library. I let a coworker spend 10 minutes with my switch and the game alone and he went out immediately afterwards to purchase a switch just for this game. The says enough to me...

Great game
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent game. Look great, plays great, so much to explore and discover! Cons: music, lack of traditional dungeons/gadgets, breakable weapons, almost too much freedom distracting you from getting to the main story

One of the best Zelda games imo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks fantastic. It is great on a TV as well as on the portable screen. Game play is also really good. Definitely liking the open world aspect. You can really go almost anywhere. Only drawback so far is the breaking of weapons gets old real fast. Especially when you're in the middle of a combo on a boss or other strong enemy.

Recommended to everyone that doesn’t mind RPGs
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Zelda games, and I feel that this was an amazing step up from previous games. The mechanics are awesome, I love the new controls for fights, the graphics are beautiful, the world is totally worth exploring, and the storyline - as always - is well thought out and connects well to other games. The main quest side characters are fleshed our well, and so are many of the NPCs in the towns and wandering the map. The only (small) drawback is that, with such a gigantic world, it is sometimes a little boring having to run through empty fields, desert, etc. to get where you have to go, or wait for the rain to stop to continue climbing to finish something related to the main quest. Despite this, the main quest is awesome (and you don’t feel pressured to finish it as fast as possible and you can actually spend time exploring the world), the side quests are fun (although sometimes not very rewarding), and the DLC is a must-get, in my opinion. I hope you enjoy this game!

Fantastic Zelda Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The last Zelda game I played was for the N64, so I was super excited to try out this new open world Zelda game. So far the experience has been pretty great. There are so many elements that come from the previous games that you know right away you are playing a Zelda game. The developers have done a great job in working in old elements but using a fresh take on how they are implemented. One example is the Shrines, which feel much like older dungeons except typically each of them focuses on one area of central gameplay mastery and no longer have maps and keys required to play through. Still each shrine feels like a puzzle to be solved and adds more complexity and depth to the gameplay. The only downside I have yet encountered is the fact that Link's signature horse, Epona, is only accessible through the purchase of an extra Amiibo action figure, which are pretty hard to find. I would of liked to have had Epona as an optional/unlock-able in-game extra, much like the Master Sword and Link's signature shield. But all in all it has been a great game and would highly recommend to any one who is interested.

Worth the Praise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild is a spectacular game that'll have you hooked as soon as you start playing. It's open world nature makes it different from other main series Zelda games that tend to follow the Ocarina of time formula. Open world with lots of exploration this game is a must buy and must play for 2017.

Best Zelda ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The huge open world is filled beautifully with great attention to detail. It's lands are varied and exiting to explore. I never feel like I'm looking at the same thing twice when I'm actually in a brand new area. I've spent hours just exploring and barely done anything with the main quest and had a ton of fun doing it.

Spectacular
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Zelda BotW alone is reason enough to drop $300 on the new Switch. The open world concept for Zelda is great. You can get lost exploring for hours or rush through the story mode. Story is excellent, graphics are excellent, and gameplay is excellent.

My new favorite Zelda
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An ambitious, new open-world direction for the series I'm thrilled Nintendo decided to take. Typically their games have stayed very formulaic and "safe" over the years, and they finally stepped out of their comfort zone and delivered an instant classic that I will continue to play for years on end. The game doesn't hold your hand at all, reminiscent of old Zelda titles. Pretty easy for anyone to pick up and play, with a good sense of challenge being there for those looking for harder challenges. Death isn't penalized heavily, you just pick up a little ways off from where you died last, with your death location marked on the map. The only things I don't care for is the fact that weapons break with no way to repair or restore them, so melee weapons basically have ammo. You do get used to it, and it works well with the way they designed it, and it's not hard to get new weapons, so I can't dock any stars because of it.
