i've hated zelda games for a while because they've been so linear - get item so you can unlock this area; you can't go here because you don't have this item. breath of wild is VERY different so far. i haven't completed the game yet, but the game gives you almost everything at the start and lets you go at your own pace. i'm loving it so far

Beautiful, vibrant, and vast are the three descriptions I would use for Zelda: BotW. This game will take you a very long time to complete, and is one of the best deals in terms of dollar-per-hour needed to complete the game. If you know you like Zelda games (or similar games) then this is a must-buy for the Switch. On-the-go Zelda is amazing!

If you take the difficulty of dark souls, add in the survival aspects of games like Rust, and add in a giant sized map that trumps Skyrim and throw those aspects in with the traditional story, gameplay and soundtrack of previous Zelda games, this would be the result. Completely open, do what you when when you want. Don't pass this up.

My son anticipated this new game system and it was well worth the wait. We camped out for the launch at our local Best Buy and could not wait until we got it home. Very innovative. The controllers are very responsive and setup is very simple. Gameplay for Zelda is excellent. The screen quality is very good and also displays well on a 1080 TV.

Zelda is such a huge part of my life, and this game was well worth the long wait. Everything is beautiful and amazing. Although very different from your average Zelda game, this one brings to light so many new and innovative things. There is nothing negative to say. 10/10, a masterpiece. If you don't play this, you're missing out my dudes

Quality gaming experience: All the visible and hidden mechanics that were added to the game make it a phenomenal experience. I still haven't blown up balloons to lift heavy objects, or float bombs into enemy encampments, but it's sick that you can. There is no wrong way to experience the game, and you don't feel encapsulated by a set path.

just wow! i have been playing horizon zero dawn and this game made me realize that horizon was formed from the blueprint of this game! zelda has been around for ages and you can see its evolution in the switch! must have for switch owners! bought the switch for this lol

As a long time Nintendo and Zelda fan, I was excited to get the chance to try this game out. When I was able to snag a Switch from Best Buy, Zelda was a no-brainer! This game is much more expansive and challenging than I expected it to be, but not too tough that my 10-year-old son can't enjoy it. If you get a Switch, this game is a must buy.

Another hit for the creaters of this game. Love the open world and side quests. You can play for hours and feel like you still need to explore more.

First: you don’t buy ninetendo games for the graphics. You buy them for the gameplay. This is hands down the best Zelda game ever and possibly the best open world fantasy game ever. The attention to detail, diverse environments, Easter eggs, and tender loving care in this game is amazing. This is a must buy for any Switch owner.

Though I already had purchased the game for the Wii U, I was happy to get it again on the Switch. The differences are minor, but the ability to play this incredible game on a portable console is mind-blowing. This game alone is enough to justify a Switch purchase.

I originally played this upon first release and while i enjoyed it i didnt find it truly great. However for some reason inspite of a few small flaws the second time i found it nearly a masterpiece. Not near what its sequal is but darn good! I do miss traditional zelda games but love this. Graphics are darn good for a switch game and alot of side quest and things in the world to explore.

Love the open world and ability to just relax and play. Graphics are pretty cool. Overall, it's just a great, fun game.

Never played a Zelda game before, it’s a simplistic version of Skyrim. No crazy item or spell management. Easy to pick up and just so fun.

I was praying that Nintendo would release a title better than Breath of the Wild as people keep saying this is the best title on the Switch and at this point I will have to agree. I own many games on the Switch and nothing even comes close to how entertaining Zelda is.

This is a true Zelda game at its' core, chock full of exploration and combat. The world is huge and would take weeks to fully explore, but you're totally free to just play for an hour and still feel like you accomplished something. If you're a fan of Zelda (or even Skyrim), then you're sure to love it.

As a long time fan of the series this is insanely good, dont get me wrong ocarina of time is my all time favorite but this was a nice breath of fresh air.

Beautiful graphics, wide open gameplay, really fun to play.

I am not a gamer. Period. However, with this game I am obsessed. No, scratch that; I am possessed :)) It has many worlds I can explore and seems like there is quite a few of them! Fairly easy to navigate for a beginner like me yet there are places that may be challenging for the avid gamer. Highly recommended. Get the expansion packet, too!
