This is a great open-world exploration game! I love being able to just have a relaxed session exploring for shrines and mapping out the world.

I'm not even a true fan of this series but have played the others. This game is true open world and literally anywhere you see, you can go to. The battles are fun, puzzles are great, and you truly decide how you want to approach the game. Definitely pick this up.

I remember playing Zelda: A Link to the Past on the SNES when I was 9 or 10 and feeling like the game world was full of secrets and history that was just beyond my reach. That sense has left gaming as I've gotten older and games have gotten less interesting. Zelda has, put another way, become a bit less magical and wondrous with each new title. Breath of the Wild is a step backward, in a sense then, to my childhood. The game has reinvented the Zelda series and turned it from an adventure game into an open world survival game wherein mystery and relics from an unknown time lie in every nook. Giving away anything more would spoil the surprises throughout and the joy of finding them. No game comes closer to perfection and very few match the quality and thoughtful game design of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Frankly, I don't know that you'll play a game this year or next that is quite this good.

This is the first game I played when I picked up the original switch. The game is fun overall, the only issue holding this game back is having to constantly feed your character in order to prevent the heart health from depleting and after a while it can become a chore and in the real world I have enough of those. So I give this game an 8 out of 10.

I've played through all of the series so far and this one by far is my favorite! I love the open world concept and the ability to play the game however you want and the freedom to play at your own pace!

Honestly one of the top 5 Best games I have ever played (and I have played thousands) words can't describe what a true masterpiece this game is it's beyond just a game it's a work of art Graphics Sound Writing/Story Gameplay and design it's all perfect

BotW is an amazing re-imagining of the Zelda franchise. This version of Hyrule is loaded with tons of things to do, but there are also wonderful moments of calm in between. Just pick a direction and go. You won't be disappointed.

Though I’ve never played a Zelda game before, the story is easy to follow. Plus the graphics are amazing and the gameplay is magnificent. My friend recommended this game to me when I got my switch and it was well worth the money

Feels kind of weird to review this since I'd be willing to guess that 90%+ of Switch owners are going to buy it regardless, but it really is an amazing game! Graphics are amazing and it's awesome playing a Zelda game that's open world and has so much depth.

You've seen all the accolades and the only question you might have left is "does this game really live up to all that hype?" The answer is yes it sure does. I've never been a Zelda guy, in fact I've never even played one beyond a couple hours when renting on N64. I love this game. Great feel and the open world is just like all modern RPGs have come to be. The only knock I have against this game is that it isn't quite as immersive as it feels it should be. I don't know if this is due to the lack of dialog, no speaking from Link, or the world not feeling as large as the map is, but there's just something holding me back from being fully engaged with this game like I was with Witcher 3. Overall great game and if you're considering getting a Switch then you're going to want to grab this game as well.

When the scores for Breath of the Wild first started rolling in before release I honestly thought the review outlets were exaggerating. There was no way this game, as good as it looked, was perfect or nearly perfect. I have never been so pleased to say I was wrong. From the moment I started the game I was enthralled and entranced by just how open the world is. You really can explore everything. The only bummer is breakable weapons (well, except one. But any more detail and that would be a spoiler, my boy!), but the game honestly gives you more weapons than you know what to do with. The sheer number of options for combat, exploring, completing tasks and shrines is also amazing. I also love getting the original NES game feel from this game. Oh, also you'll probably die a lot. And most of the time it isn't even from enemies. The auto save is usually forgiving, but still manually save.

Stunning. Great story and game play. I'm late to this game but wanted to play it before Tears of the Kingdom.

Seriously one of my favorite games ever. I've spent over 80 hours in the game so far and am still finding new things to do and see, and have so much game left to go. Highly recommend for Zelda fans and anyone looking for a great open-world game to dive into.

Absolutely worth the purchase. This is the reason I bought the Nintendo Switch. The puzzles are great. The open world is amazing. Everything about this game is rewarding. An excellent experience!!

This is a great open world game that provides hours and hours of entertainment. The world is vast and the non-linear format allows for a fun and unpredictable experience every time. The only draw back is that weapons do break a little too easily.

Wide open areas and plenty of collectibles to find. You can either just play just for the story or really hunt around and find every item. Collecting items to make food is a lot more fun than it sounds. Best adventure game I have played since the WItcher 3 .

This game is very big. Although it has some slowdowns in frame rate, most of the time I didn't notice it. The game has a lot to do. I'm STILL not done with it after 40+ hours of gameplay. Two thumbs.

Breath of the Wild absolutely lives up to my expectations as a franchise fan, and even if another game that I want comes out for the Switch, it was worth it to purchase just for this game. Nintendo has done a wonderful job by creating a truly immersive world, where the only thing stopping a player from getting somewhere is Link's current stamina and the players patience, ingenuity, and ability to think outside the box. There are many added game mechanics in Breath of the Wild, but they all feel natural to the evolution of the game. No matter who you are, whether a first-time gamer, or a Zelda fan from the days of the original Nintendo Entertainment System, this game is something you must play.

Great open world game a different Zelda but in a good way you'll find yourself immersed in a new Hyrule being sidetracked with many wonders and intrigued by many aspects of the game maybe a little hard getting use to but once you delve in you won't be sorry.

Zelda has been taken to a new level. The combat is fun. The world is huge and there is a lot to explore. The game doesn't stop you from traveling throughout the map right from the get go. While you may run into some enemies too tough that is part of the fun.
