I loved this game. Zelda as a playable character was fresh for a mainline Zelda game, but it was the echoes abilities that did it for me. This game was like Zelda meets Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive series. Tri is basically a spren, lending itself to be formed into all sorts of weapons to get past dungeons, bosses, enemies, and puzzles. Abilities improve as you level up, too. The Rifts were like Shadesmar to a certain extent, and the main big bad, Null, was similar in personality and actions to Odium. I know this game isn’t for everyone, but it checked all the boxes (and then some) for me! I will definitely replay it in the future!

Put off getting this for a very long time. Had a ton of fun. Its like a classic zelda game with top down view and dungeons. Its also got a great twist with the summoning of enemies and objects to fight and maneuver around the map. Its also very vertical for a top down zelda game and playing as Zelda added another fun little change.

Haven’t actually finished the game yet but it’s really cute. It’s in the style and obviously using the same game engine as the remake of Links’s Awakening for the switch. It’s great that they released this because TotK in my opinion wasn’t as good as I had hoped. I would rather have one of these games every year or two than go 6+ years between titles. I’ve owned pretty much every Zelda title since the gold cartridge on NES and this one has great throwbacks to so many of the classics. The new mechanics are also a lot of fun.

Picked it up for Christmas for myself, “I know,” bad, didn’t want to miss out on the price on this game during the sales. I did receive other games, but this one I wanted to try before links awakening since I played the OG game boy version and it was my first Zelda game ever. Now I know what to expect and I can’t wait to play that next.

After decades of playing Link, the opportunity to play as Zelda was a welcome and exciting change. Zelda is as capable, smart and stylish as her knightly counterpart. A fun game, if only a little short.

It was a pretty fun game that brings back elements of the zelda formula such as classic dungeons and having a companions. Although I was not really as attached to tri compared to other companions such as Midna or Navi. Even if Navi was a little annoying at the beginning you grow to miss her. Tri was kind if just there tbh. The echoes mechanic was interesting and the puzzles were good but I did find myself brute forcing it with swordsman mode and just downing a bunch of energy potions. The combat with echoes could have been better. All in all a solid game.

Over a half dozen full dungeons makes it feel like a classic Zelda game, but that moves a bit further away from direct combat and more into puzzle solving. Has some Tears of the Kingdom DNA in an Ultrahand type of feature, but also mixes in some voxel gaming features (Minecraft, Dragon Quest Builders) and lots of monster summoning. A really fun adventure though not very long - a bit shorter in length than its contemporaries in A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening.

Short and sweet, Echoes of Wisdom has enough insight to avoid overstating its welcome. The puzzles are nice, the graphics beautifully styled, and the collect-a-thon gameplay makes the gremlin brain go brrrt. Combat can be a bit of a slog, with you mostly sitting back to watch your summons struggle with basic enemies, but the creative freedom is probably worth the slight detriment to pacing. The game also sandboxes you: go anywhere you want and explore different regions in whichever order strikes your fancy. Overall a lot of fun and worth a playthrough.

Breath of the Wild almost got me hooked, but not quite. I'm just too into the old-school Zelda stuff. Give me those dungeons, the town gossip, and all those cool gadgets you unlock as you go. BOTW just didn't scratch that itch. Even Tears of the Kingdom didn't quite feel like a real Zelda game to me. But Echoes of Wisdom? This is the real deal. If you're an old-school Zelda fan like me, you're gonna love this one. It's got everything we've been missing!
