This game was based on a GameBoy Color game and was faithfully brought to life on the switch. The depth of field effect is a little strong but other than that the graphics and toy aesthetics are very nice. Others have complained about frame rate issues but I'm not particularly bothered by them. The new music is really well done and incredibly charming. Overall this remake is awesome, just wish it wasn't full price AAA, but that's Nintendo for you.

Having played most Classic Zelda games, I was really looking forward to this one. It's a fantastic remake with amazing charm and a high, undeniable cuteness-factor. However, don't let the adorable visuals keep you from this one of a kind adventure. The controls are tight, the puzzles are well balanced, and the action is spot on. While there is the occasional slow down, it's over quickly, and never affects battles. Stop reading and get this game!

This game is really fun and entertaining. I am a Zelda fan so it really is exciting for me to play.

Excellent game for old and new gamers that like old 2D classic games. I already knew the story because I played the first 2 original games but in this game I loved all the visual details that were implemented like a 2.5D/3D effect that makes you love more this game. The main story it is acceptable even in hero/hard mode. I suggest to improve your weapons and complete the secondary missions if you want to have everything before the last dungeons.

If you were a fan of Link's Awakening DC on the Gameboy Color then you'll be a fan of this game. Very much the same game with updated graphics that are incredibly charming (also better controls keep you from having to pause it as much as the GB version). Hard to give a review that isn't bursting with nostalgia for a 90s kid like me, but I really would say this game is worth it.

A nice remake of the original. Don't expect it to be like Breath of the Wild....you will be disappointed

As cute as the animation is and as much as I like that it's a remake of a fantastic game....it runs absolutely horribly on the Switch. The framerates drop constantly and it makes for a pretty unpleasant experience sometimes (even in handheld mode).

In our house, the Zelda Franchise is universally loved by everyone in my family. Link's awakening is a classic on it's own. Watching my kids enjoy the game at the same age their parents did shows how a good game with a good setting is timeless. The new graphics and being on the switch are just icing on the cake. This is a must play for any Nintendo/Zelda fan. If you are a fan I doubt you are reading the reviews anyways. You already beat it.
