Wonderful game! I’m enjoying the storyline and love the way this game takes Zelda back to its roots.

Absolutely loving this game and was thinking that this is the perfect game for introducing your son or daughter to the world of Zelda. The dungeons aren’t terribly challenging but not a breeze either. The owl guides Link in a fairly straightforward manor and the map unfolds in a logical way without the risk of getting lost. The graphical style is great and overall I’m just really enjoying it. Very glad I picked it up!

Based on the classic Game Boy Color game, Link's Awakening fixes a lot of small problems with the original. You have better access to your inventory now instead of constantly switching back and forth to equip items. There are also no loading screens like in the GBC version, so everything now is interconnected. However, when you move into a new area the game goes from 60fps to about 30 FPS in order to load all assets of the area that you're in. It is a slight annoyance at first but you soon get used to it after a while. Hopefully this occurrence gets somehow patched out later on, but it doesn't ruin the experience though. There are a couple of new goodies here and there in this remake but for the vast majority the game is how you remembered it back in the day. The art style for this game at first may seem to not be a good choice, but it suits it considering it was an old GBC game. Objects and towns look like they were beautifully handcrafted in a claymation kind of way, with background fire and water effects looking quite realistic to contrast it. It is a quite good 10 to 15 hour experience (depending if you played the original or not) to enjoy.

It's a cute game, it's a fun game, and it's highly entertaining for fans of the series and newcomers alike. The only problem: I wish it was longer! A solid 15 hours to beat, compared to BoTW (and similar titles) coming in at ~60-90.

One of my favorite games from my childhood is back in my hands. It's simply perfection, especially with its new "toy" graphic style.

Love all the Zelda games. Only thing since this is a remake should be less then 59.99!!

If you played the original you will love the remake, and even if you didn't I still highly recommend getting it!

It's so fun to step back into this amazing world Nintendo has cooked up. This is one of the best games I played as a child on my GameBoy, and will continue to be one of the best games of my generation. Nintendo has done a beautiful job recapturing the magic of the original game and updating it for all of us 26 years later.

This game is cute. It has an animal crossing vibe to it as far as the sounds and animation. It’s an easy to understand version of Zelda that is not as in depth a story as the other Zelda available to buy. We are happy with the purchase of this game. It’s great for young kids.

Excellent remake of what is considered the best or one of the best gb games made. I love the art design chosen and have not played the original so it is wild to play an old but new Zelda that I don't know my way through. Enjoyable 2d Zelda that's a nice change of pace from some other more difficult games. Only have an issue with the framerate jumping sometimes but I feel that may be patched soon.

Got this as a gift for my grandson. Haven’t given it to him yet, but the whole cot will know when I do because he’ll scream a thank you.

Such an amazing game with good puzzles from classic zelda Links Awakening. Sound/music quality was done very well. Removed a star due to slight loss of FPS early in the game, nothing that makes the game unplayable though.

Great for all ages, and gives a look at the original GameBoy Zelda game from a new perspective! This is a great tool for an 8-10 year old to learn problem solving skills, thinkign out of the box, and following directions. Purchasing it from Best Buy was simple and convenient. They had the best pric eon thsi game as well!

If you are a fan of the original Links awakening I can tell you this is such a faithful remake of our beloved Links awakening. It's basically the same game and feel but with so many nice quality of life upgrades. For zelda fans, this is a MUST have. Kind of wish they would do this treatment to more games like Oracle of Ages and Seasons and even the Original game!

This is a remake of a Gameboy game from the 1990s, but it looks amazing now on Switch! You unlock tools to gain access to more areas over time, which is fun for someone who likes to solve puzzles. If you're looking for open world like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, though, you'll be disappointed because this game takes place on a small island that you repeatedly go over to unlock new areas.

First, a little disclaimer: I really like Link's Awakening. A lot. It's my favorite Zelda game of all time, barely edging out the SNES classic A Link to the Past. It was with some fear and trepidation that I approached this remake. I'm glad I was wrong. This remake, while perhaps not sporting the style I would prefer, with its toyetic look, still impresses. Some small quality-of-life changes here and there make the experience smoother than the original game. While I still prefer the "feel" of the Game Boy original (let me use the d-pad, Nintendo!), the game still plays very well. The soundtrack might be a little different in terms of instrumentation, so I have tracks I like better in the original as well, but things still sound quite nice. Regardless of my gripes, the core here still contains one of the finest action-RPGs to grace any system, so I still highly recommend it. If you're an old-school vet, this differing take will entertain just to see the differences. If you've never played the original, well, you're in for a treat.

From the cute art style to the fun gameplay, definitely one of my favorite Zelda games. Glad I was able to snag this while on sale.

I purchased this game for my son and didn’t know how fun it would be. He had never played Zelda before, so I was unsure if he would like it. He could spend hours on this game if given the chance. If you’ve never played a Zelda game I would recommend buying this one. It’s kid friendly and the colors within the game are vibrant. This is definitely a purchase well spent!
