The graphics and everything look really great. The camera is very difficult to control. Something obviously did not translate over well from the Wii version.

What can I say? It’s zelda. It’s the switch. It belongs on the shelf next to the other zelda games you’ve collected over the decades.

Great story line, controls are a little frustrating. I tried using the button controls but couldn’t get the hang of using the sword that way so I switched to using motion controls. It’s a little better to control but not ideal for me. Still think it’s worth playing.

My son loves this game it’s easy for him to play, 7year old. The controls allow for motion controller or button and the bosses are not overly difficult.

The game has always been an all time favorite of mine! Seeing it in HD and with the better tracking controls of the switch, I had an absolute blast!

Continuing the Zelda series. The story line is pretty good, but the number of conversation cut scenes really slow down the game play. The weapon controls are also different than previous versions and the camera angles seem to need a lot of adjusting.

While I played the original on the Wii, I was surprised at just how much of this game that I forgot. The story is a lot more linear than BOTW, but I've never minded that in the Zelda series. It's a classic Zelda tale that introduced some cool elements and the Switch version looks gorgeous, (except for overheads of the trees, I do wish they'd have given those a little more attention. Here's what the trees looks like from above: X X X). My only other qualm is from TV mode. I do wish there was a better solution for centering the joy con. The need to push a button after I pull out a bow or slingshot really interrupts the flow. So a few nit-picks on an overall great game from the early part of the 21st century. Should you buy it for nostalgia's sake? Yes. If you're expecting a game like BOTW, give this one a pass and wait for that sequel instead.

Haven’t had a lot of time to play it but the controls are nice in handheld mode, the graphics are beautiful, and of course the sound is great.

Great game. Even though it is not a full remaster, all the original charm is still there. Frame rate has been smooth and controls responsive.

This game was a big part of my childhood and im so happy they brought it to Switch. They've upped the quality of the animations, overall look (hence the "HD"), took out unnecessary tutorials/dialog, and kept the environment pretty close to the original while also making it look better. They even added a couple new easter eggs (have fun finding them) My one complaint is the controls (for reference, I use the pro controller). You have to hold a button just to look around, which is a bit weird considering that the original never had that. The controls in general take some getting used to (especially if you're a Breath of the Wild veteran) but overall i dont mind some weird controls. Im honestly jealous that there's Zelda fans out there experiencing this story for the first time in HD while the rest of us had to recalibrate our Wii remotes every 20 mins lol.

While, I did own a Wii, I never bought Skyward Sword when it came out. Since I'm an adult who values doing as little as possible when I'm home from a 15 hour shift at work, this game has little appeal to me. I'm glad they changed the control scheme so I can use my Nintendo Pro controller. After playing it though the controls feel clunky, and kinda makes the game play feel off. I get that it was designed with motion controls in mind, so the new control scheme doesn't feel so fluid.... THIS IS NOT BREATH OF THE WILD 2. Save your money.
