Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword brings back memories of the Wii era. The Switch edition looks better than ever and you can now play on the go

I thought that this game was an amazing game it had everything and I was never really stuck in any parts because it was so direct and you can explore everything and anything. It one player and I live how every character had a place and purpose in the game.

Fun game. Works a lot better with the motion controls than the Wii version.

QoL upgrades to a great game

Solid remaster with several QoL upgrades compared to the original and the WiiU port. Not only are you able to switch between motion controls and stick controls, but you can now skip cutscenes! You no longer have to read what an Amber relic does every time you boot the game. The lack of these features held back the fun potential of the previous versions, but this remaster is focuses on what makes Zelda games fun!

I remember playing this on the wii. Sadly never got to finish it. Still have the old copy but no longer the wii. Now that is on the switch I would finally finish it this time. I have the switch lite so I was skeptical on how it was going to be play handheld mode… gotta say… its great! I will say at first it would feel odd but you’ll get used to the mechanics. I highly recommended to new comers and even old fans of the franchise!

This has been a good remake for the switch. It took some getting used to, as I was used to Breath of the Wild controls, and playing on a switch lite, this is a learning curve. But overall, a great return to a past Zelda.

So far it's a fun game but the motion controls are a bit tricky and at times annoying. I think it's something you get used to though. You can also turn off the motion controls but it's makes the camera more difficult to use.

Great Zelda game as usual. HD version has option to use button controls in lieu of motion controls. Game seems improved in all areas.

Played the original on WiiU. Never finised becaue i hated the controls. With the new button layout the game is much easier to play. Still a bit odd with the right analog stick as the swing, but still better. Good story for any Zelds fan.

Absolutely amazing game. Granted it’s just a remake, but it has a solid story line and unlike other people, I enjoy the controls.

One of the best games in the series. Loved the story the first time I played it on Wii, the controls are much better on Switch

Excellent title for any rpg fan, especially fangs of other Zelda games. It’s a bit difficult to get used to the controls being swapped from the Wii version but after that it’s great.

I don't recall playing this when it came out for the Wii so was really excited to give it a shot. I played with the controller not motion controls and found it really easy and intuitive. This is definitely a different experience than BOTW which a much more linear path of progression. While the world felt a little small, the dungeons were interesting and engaging without ever being too difficult. If you like Zelda you'll love this, if you want open world it's probably not your thing.

When I was younger, I played this on the Wii and beat the game. When I found out this came out on switch I preordered it immediately. When I played it on my switch I beat it in a week. On the switch, one of the BEST add ons was the optional motion control because that was one of my main problems with the wii version. However, I highly recommend, if you do NOT use motion controls, to use a pro controller or any controller other than joy cons. I have yet to try it out, but drift may affect gameplay.

I missed playing Skyward Sword when it first came out, so was excited to get to play through it on Switch. While Breath of the Wild brought on a new style of open-ended Zelda games, Skyward Sword is in the more traditional mode of progressing from dungeon to dungeon. I was impressed by how challenging these dungeons got and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the series.

It is fun going back in time to play the games I played on the original systems. Makes me remember just how far the video and music have come in this series. It’s also amazing just how much I forgot about the game play and what I needed to do next. I figured it all out again. Fun times!

Please don't think this is a bad game. I gave it 3 stars because of the game's mechanics. Unlike on the Wii, the motion controls feel WORST on this version of Skyward Sword, and even though there is a button mode for this game, to me, it doesn't work as fine as one would hope (HOWEVER a lot of people have round button mode a much better experience.) Now, the graphics have improved a bit since the Wii, and the story is as wonderful as ever, the experience of said story is just so good, and the music is beautiful. A HUGE plus for being able to skip cutscenes now.

I never got to play Skyward Sword so I was very excited for this to come out on Switch. It's not a new game but it's new to me and that's all that matters. I was hoping Nintendo would release a Zelda compilation similar to Super Mario 3D All Stars, with HD remakes of Wind Waker / Twilight Princess / Skyward Sword, as I'd love to replay Wind Waker and also never got to finish Twilight Princess, but I'll take what I can get. So far this is a lot of fun and lives up to its reputation.
