Mainly bought it for the nostalgia purposes and it was fricking awesome. It’s just like how I remembered it and the quality is pretty good too.

Great game made even better for Switch. The Wii version of this game was rather lackluster due to poor motion controls and frame rate. On Switch it plays at a locked 30fps and both motion controls and the pro controller controls work perfectly.

Absolutely horrendous controls for the game

Everything but the controls of this game is great. It fits the bill of the more classic Zelda games and is an enjoyable story line with the typical problem-solving involved in the dungeons. The controls, however, seriously detract from this game. There's almost no reason they couldn't have used this remaster as an opportunity to just use more traditional controls (or even something way less hyper-focused on your motions, like Twilight Princess's use of the Wii remote). Instead this game forces you to use finicky motion controls (or the right joystick - arguably even worse) to control your sword. The game rarely responds how you think it will so often you're left just flailing your hand around against enemies hoping Link slashes the correct direction before his stamina runs out.

One of the weaker Zelda games. The controls get in the way too often (you have to manually swing control stick to swing sword, causing mis-strikes). Worse swing detection than on Wii, but still playable. Dungeons are creative puzzling but lack diversity, visit the same area over and over. 30+ hours length. It’s just not as good as Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, or BoTW.

Amazing game!!! The controls are still a bit difficult to get used to but after about an hour it becomes natural. I played this on a switch lite and I have no complaints. Zelda fan since day 1 regardless the game, but Skyward Sword really is an amazing game!

Zelda is a series I loved since I was a kid and getting a chance to play this on the switch when I missed out on it do to not having a Wii motion plus control back in the day is great. It looks like they improved the visuals with a clearer picture vs what it looked like on the Wii and motion controls while not perfect are improved from what the Wii era had. Controller set up takes some getting use to but is playable.

A great update to an underrated Zelda title. This is the same great game that debut towards the end of the Wii's life cycle. People had a problem with the emphasis on motion controls and that has been somewhat remedied here. Along with the updated resolution and framerate, Nintendo added the option to use button controls along with motion controls in this version.

Thought i was going to hate this when i first started it. Turned out to be a fantastic game. The story is great, some of the puzzles are challenging. Only issue is the controlling can be wonky at times. The button scheme takes sometime getting adjusted.

I liked the original game on the Wii, but having the joystick control option is nice if you don’t want to wave your arms around. The higher resolution makes details clearer and some of the more annoying dialog trees have been shortened. Really fun game!

It’s a Zelda game and a decent one at that. Never played the original but Nintendo made some nice improvements in gameplay on this updated version. My only issue is the price. $60 for a remake of a game is too much. At that price it would’ve been nice to have been a bundle of 2 of the old zelda games updated for the switch. If you don’t have this game for GC or Wii then I’d recommend giving the SS a try.

Skyward Sword... in HD... on Switch? Really doesn't get much better than that. Graphics looks great and plays great on both TV and handheld. Wonderful story with lush environments. Recommend playing it again on Switch, or for the first time!

I never played the original so I can’t compare. I’ll say the remaster holds up pretty well though. Graphics are good, music is good, and story is interesting enough to keep me engaged. My biggest complaint would be the motion controls. It can be a bit awkward using the right stick for slashing and it doesn’t always do the slash I want but after a while I kind of got the hang of it.

Nintendo did a great job with this remaster! The HD graphics look much better than the Wii original, the jump in FPS from 30 to 60 is a game changer, and there are tons of other QOL improvements. Definitely recommend for any Zelda fan out there.

Definitely a much improved version compared with the original (e.g., graphics, frame rate, etc.). My only complaint is the motion controls (completely optional). I used them when I played the original on the Wii, so I guess I’m committed to them with the HD version, but I was hoping for some improvement. Again, totally optional, so not a deal breaker by any means. Otherwise, love this Zelda!

This is a top 5 legend of zelda game for me, awesome story music and graphics, the controls are adapted from the Wii, so it may take a little learning curve, but awesome either way.

Fantastic Zelda game. One of favorites. Only issue i ever had was the camera. It is still the same but I get past that that because this game is fantastic. Runs great, especially on Switch 2.

Great game. Lots of fun. I have been waiting for the HD version of this game for awhile, and it did not disappoint. Using the pro controller takes some getting used to, but glad they integrated it. I am not a fan of motion control.

This game is legendary, it’s my first time playing and I’m hooked. The characters in the story feel much more personal and thought out. This HD version improves a lot from the original I found out from some research I’ve done.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a great remaster that brings a fresh new look to a decade old game. The new non-motion controls option that requires sword swings via moving the right stick add a new layer of fun to combat.

I played the original Wii release and loved it. Better visuals, control options (I still love the motion controls) and amiibo support. I still love it, just even more. Many criticize this game for being terrible, but I don't think it deserves to get rated poorly. It isn't the best in the series, but it isn't a bad game by any means. I think Nintendo has built a reputation such that everyone's expectations are really high, and mostly they deliver. Occasionally, they'll fall a little. However, even their "bad" games are on par with great games of other devs. Remember, this was pre-BOTW, so be thankful that this game was a learning step needed to get to BOTW, which is quite possibly the best in the series. I did like the darker tone of Twilight Princess, though.
